Anyone tried or actually pulled off an inverse drift in gt3? I was wondering about it for a few days now, just thought I'd ask if anyones even thought about it, or if its even possible. What'cha think?

No, its the oppisite of a normal drift(front of the car to the inside of the turn), an inverse drift is with the nose of the car on the outside of the turn..It's kind of hard to explain, then again, I'm not one with words.

Lol, better than I can do. I wonder how you'd setup an inverse drifting car, if setups matter. Would you just reverse the normal drift settings?

I'm almost positive it's impossible..think about it..you'd have no forward momentum to keep your drift going unless you hit reverse and I really don't think that would work either.

Try drawing a picture then.

Normal Drift:
______
/ /
^ l / l
l l /= car

Inverse Drift:

______________
l l
l _____ l
l l l / l ^ ^= direction
l l l l
l l l l

im sorry that was a poor drawing.. hos this.

this is my idea of the drift. but the f and the r can be reversed :)

I do not think you can make the wheels spin fsat enough in reverse for this type of drift... if you were to enter the corner in reverse in a ff car ( or any other car for that matter)... Seems to me that you would have to be able to swing the car around at high speeds ( prolly with the e brake) and stop it so that the ass is pointing in and making the drift angle... Further more i do no think that you would be able to steer all that much... other than minute inputs... because most steering sent to the back wheels ( as we assume the front wheels are acting as) would send the car spinning... so as soon as you have the car in the right position i think it would be thottle control in reverse (not very possible) or just wait the turn out and swing out when the drift is dying or going out of control...

It's not done in reverse, though. I was just wondering if it was possible. I'd say if there was a right corner, follwed by a left, you could drift the right turn normally, and keep drifting right for an inverse left drift. :banghead: I'm already confused though.

You mean like regular drift one corner that links into a corner turning hte opposite way. I suppose that would be possible if the s turn was wide enough to do the following...

drift the furst turn...
somewhere cuase your back end to lead your front end (before second turns apex...
inverse drift second turn and gas so that you start sliding backwards towards the apex of the second corner...
exit the turn backwards or do a 180 to come out facing normally...

Thats what I was thinking, I suppose I could work on it tonight. I saw it in Initial D and decided it might be fun to try.

are u referring to the battle with the Civic EG6? that isn't really an inverse drift....i'd say it'z just an ass tryin to get u in an accident but recovering from it...

...For the last time, its NOT in reverse, its with the nose of the car to the outside of the corner. God. And it's in the 5th book. Page 217.
