How is it silly in the slightest? I've watched InsideSimRacing 30 Minute+ videos on Youtube whilst having an IM of some sort up, if you ask me, it's the perfect example of multi-tasking.

Can I ask where you live and how much that will cost a month. I'm in Canada and we don't have unlimited plans and the best plans ever that would come close are laughably high.

The Plan is £41 or $64.53 CAD per month. Im in the UK under Orange, I could have gone for a cheaper tariff but its the same as what I pay now and the 32gb version was £140 $220 CAD to buy the phone.

Omg you are so lucky. Your phone cost is almost half the price and your plan for what you get is insanely cheap compared to here. Thanks for answering.

Would you guys say that on T-Mobile:
2000 mins(unlimited T-Mobile to T-Mobile)
Unlimited Texts
Unlimited Internet
For £39 per month. With a £150 upfront fee. It works out around £1100 over the two years for the 32GB model!

My 4S has unlimited Internet, and 300 flexiunits (3 texts = 1 flexiunit, 1 min = 1 flexiunit)

€40 a month over the 2 years and the phone was free.

I think it works out as €960 over the two years, and it's cheaper then buying the phone up front and putting €20 a month into it. Think it works out as €1000 or so. Also no massive €500 up front fee for the phone either :)

That's why contracts are basically pay monthly instalments with shocking interest rates.

I can see the S3's size being an issue if you have small hands, but I don't, so it isn't.

I love my S3. Every time I use some else's phone I feel like I need to bring a magnifying glass.

Me too. At least once a week a woman comments on the size of my, ehm, phone.

Lol I have the 3GS so when I get the 5 I'm cool with it only getting about a half inch longer and not any thicker. Every inch counts.

So I'm gonna get an iPhone5 after all, I think. I really wanted the Note 2's hardware, but I just have too much invested in Apple's ecosystem, and most importantly, 90% of the people I know have iPhones and I don't want to lose the ability to iMessage them, which would mean I'd have to spend more on a text plan if I switched to Android.

Looks like I'll be in line at the store on Friday morning.

Its not the size but what you do with it that counts.

Someone had to.

I like the idea of a large screen, but some phones are so big it's crazy, I saw a kid yesterday and he had a huge phone (not sure what phone) and it reminded my of Dom Joly on Trigger Happy TV.

That's absolutely mental.

My brother just shelled out £50 upfront and is paying £32 a month for his 16GB 4S over 2 years, making his total cost £818.

My 32GB One X is £28 a month (for more data and minutes) with £100 upfront making mine £772.

I've been laughing at him since last week about it, even though I did warn him to wait until the 5 came out to upgrade...:indiff:

Whatsapp? Everyone I know uses it to send pictures and group messages.

Phone plans around the world confuse me. I pay $50 a month for unlimited talk, text and "unlimited" data, and this is before my 22% discount through work. Unfortunately I have to stay with AT&T for the iPhone 5 for couple of reasons, even though I hate their company. Sprint does not have 4G in my area, nor will they for a long time, the coverage map shows that I'd be connected to an off-network tower when I'm near my house which means the data is limited (I think that's how it reads), and it would be $100 a month to get the same sort of plan I have now. I think I can almost stand AT&T for saving more than 50% on a phone bill.

Oh and people who get new Verizon plans have no concept of money.

So... other manufacturers make better products that cost less but you have to keep going with Apple because you've swallowed the hook, the line and the sinker already. I think you've just perfectly explained the business model Apple is relying on - it doesn't really matter what they make, people are basically forced to buy it anyway.

Whatsapp is very useful.

I'm not really "taken aback" with the new iPhone. I still like my Samsung Galaxy S2 i777

If I was to buy an iPhone 5 (which I'm really considering) I'd get the Orange £36p/m which has unlimited calls and texts along with 1GB of data and unlimited BT openzone wifi then a £110 or £220 handset charge dependent on a choice of the 16GB or 32GB respectively.

With the option of moving to 4G when its launched in the UK (although my city is just outside the initial coverage area at the moment....)

I was in Covent Garden today and somebody was already camping outside. Madness, just order it online.

If you've bought an iPhone and have a bunch of apps its stupid to switch. Once you buy any brand you're kind of stuck with it.

I feel that the apple OS is much more responsive than the Android(even 4). Also, i feel iPhone's look better. My friend changed his iPhone 4 to a S3 on it's release. He is regretting quite a lot, especially now the 5 is out.

I agree. At a quick tally up I must have spent about £170 on apps and £250 on music through iTunes! I'm not going to waste all that money just to change my phone's to something which isn't as good.

He can probably sell his place at front of the queue to an iFanboy ;)

For the price of the iPhone by any chance?

Would be funny if the queue went the other way though

My sister's gonna let me keep her iPhone 4 when she gets the iPhone 5 :P
I'm gonna be saving up for the latest one though...well, I can't decide between the xBox 360 and the latest iPhone...

^ If you're getting an iPhone 4, the choice between and upgrade in phones and a new gaming system seems pretty clear to me.

- - - - -

After telling my wife some of the things that were changed for the 5, I asked her if she wanted to trade in her 4S. The look on her face was something along these lines - :odd: while asking "What for?" Granted she's one of those "as long as it works when she needs it to, she likes it" people, not a must have the bleeding edge of tech people.

How about both?

Wait until she gives it to you, buy the iPhone 5 and then sell the iPhone 4 and buy an Xbox.

This. Or if you want more pocket money, just get an iphone 4s!
Also, get Slopro! Best slo-mo app ever! It's not choppy!
A little off-topic..

More difference between the 4 and 5 then 4 and 4S

Oh and apparently there meant to cost the same. The 4S and 5 that is.

Dunno why but just posted the same thing by mistake.

How long was it between the 4 and 4S release? I'm still on the 3GS... Are they even going to release a 5S?
