If anyone is interested in watching, superbike and I (any others?) will be racing a 90 minute Continental Tire Series race at Daytona at 2320 GMT. That's 6:20 Eastern time.

Not my greatest race, got rear ended hard in lap 3 and was fighting the car for the rest of the race. Pitted after the crash, and even after the optional 3 minute repair, my wheel was still 45 degrees off, and any time I went over about 100mph or did anything more than tap the brakes, my whole car would start squirming around.

I wasn't expecting to win or anything, but I was confident of a top 10 (in-class) finish, ended up 15th though. Oh well, that's one of my least favorite tracks to race on anyways, just can't master coming off of the oval sections back into road sections.

I've had that happen before, still having damage after doing all repairs. Did you get new tires? I haven't decided if maybe you need a new wheel when that happens.

I just sold a brand new set of ClubSport Pedals for $290 on eBay. I bought them to hold me over until my CST F1's came in, but when I found another set of CST's for sale on the iRacing forums, I went ahead and bought them. So I had this brand new set of CSP's just sitting here. Didn't realize they were showing out of stock in the US Fanatec store.

^^ lol ijsut saw your user title, clever.

The Nixim mod is a stiffer progressive spring to replace the original spring in the brake pedal of the g25/27

Now I'm looking forward to D Class racing, especially the Skip Barber and Grand Touring series. I would like an opinion on which tracks to buy to race through D License.
Looking at the Skip calendar, if you like the classic tracks I'd recommend you to get Watkins Glen, Oulton Park and Suzuka. Mosport is fun too and Brands hatch is another classic track although I haven't raced that one much yet.

I bought the Skippy, and all I can say is: Wow, such a nice car. It's a joy to be able to control it. I liked it very much

Ok ive only had 2 races with Legends and both times someone spun out in the first corner and took me out... come on!

And does this 0x>4x mean that the other person had points taken but not me?

Good question Crushed, I've always wondered what 0X > 4X means.

Anyone?

It means you originally had a 0x incident (which would be contact) and it turned into a 4x. In your case because there was contact between two cars (0x initially, then 4x when something bad happened out of it). All cars involved always get the same incident points, there's no blame assigned, ever.

Somehow it can also be a 0x->2x when its less severe, but I don't really know how that's judged. Maybe just an off-track from one of the cars. Same thing happens when you have an off track that turns into loss of control, usually. 1x->2x.

Will a 1X>2X count as 3, or just stay at the 2X?

Also since bump drafting counts as a 0X is it allowed and acceptable?

Thanks!

I believe it is counted as 3 and bump drafting is acceptable.

So i should really purposely lose?

For the rookie series your aim is to get our of the rookie series. To get out, you need to have a safety rating of 4.0 (this is to fast track) and to do 4 races ot 4 time trails.

So the aim of your rookie series is not winning but to increase your SR to 4.0.

If you want the slow way, you can just increase it to 3.0 and wait until the rookie series ends (it ends every 4 weeks), by tomorrow it will be week 3.

So its not about losing or winning, your aim is to get 0 incident points.

What Swiftwilly said and, in rookie you always get some positions from the crashes in front of you. In my first race, I started last and finished third just because of people crashing in front of me

1) Its promoted to a 2x.
2) Its generally not encouraged in official sessions unless you can communicate with that person and they're okay with it. Of course now Superspeedway racing is fastest using tandems so that is the norm.

Haha i wish i knew this before, my safety rating is 1.57.... it will get better though i just crewed up a lot as a rookie. And i didnt know thats what that was

Now for Legends on Lanier ((2.25 rating) so not as bad) does anyone have any tips? I cant break 16.9. Do you brake? Where when and what gears do you use!?

Legends...never brake. 4th gear. Never shift out of it.

If I feel like I can take a guy sometimes I just brush the brakes to pull the nose in to get an earlier drive out of the corner. But as a rookie, you just need to focus on getting out of rookie. But don't do it so quickly that you don't learn to drive.

Ok thanks but how do you corner? You cant go full throttle so what do you do?

Use the driving line to help (you can do so in the rookie series). Turn in and let off the throttle at almost the same time to help the rear end turn, then coast through most of the corner and feed the throttle back in on exit.

Most importantly with the Legend, do everything smoothly. Roll onto and roll off of the throttle. Its tires are really hard so you don't have much traction to work with.
