@Duffers.-Yay im jealous now lol. You might be one of the few here who finished and let alone finished well.

What are you guys up to now? noticed people are online.

Time to prep for the 120minutes of Sebring!

There were no GT cars in my split for some reason, lol..

But before I can race again I need to figure out whats wrong with my clutch pedal. My gas acted up before but only between 20-50% throttle (giving non linear reading between there, cleaned and was fine), my clutch only occationally puts out a signal now.. I took it apart and cleaned it and it worked a bit (though only had 50-100% reading correctly and stayed on 10% the whole time, between 10-50% was a dead spot.) Probably have to contact Fanatec and have them send me a new sensor.
 
Well, my race wasn't too bad. I had some super fast dp drivers in my split. Fastest lap of race for the dp's was a 1:37.9xx.:eek: I started 31st, dead last of the dp's with a 1:38.202 quali time. I just kept my fenders on and ran a comfortable pace of low to mid 39's not in traffic. Only got 2 incident points which were both from off tracks at the bus stop. Ended up finishing 15th in by far the fastest field I've ever raced in. iRating went up, +15 and SR +.46. I'll take that. It really was an epic race. These kind of events with big fields and long races is why iRacing is so awesome.👍

@Blaze - you really like those naps don't you:)

Edit: :eek::eek: I was in split #3 out of 26 splits for the dp's.

Why didnt i pit :ouch: why didnt i pit :ouch: :/ I didn't know I would get DQ'd! All that hardwork for nothing! I had but 11 spin on my own! Flawless racing till the twit hit... I would have alteast finished in the top 20 with all of the damage.

Requirement to fix damaged vehicle/cutting track etc there is a black flag on your top left side corner. Have a read under section 6.8.1 of the sporting code for what to do when there is a black flag.

Yeah, but honestly I don't remember so many incidents. All I can remember was 3 spins, four 1x from going/putting a wheel off and 2 incidents involving contact... Guess hey add up pretty quick!

Go to the the race now tab and choose the 2.4 hr of Daytona race like you were going to practice or race again. Then click on the results which is under the 2.4hr logo on the left of the screen. This will show you all splits and let you look at all the results like times, fastest laps, etc. like when you look at your own results after a practice or race.
 
Split 12 for me. In my opinnion it was just the split for me, I was able to keep pace and even reel in the lead pack when I had to fall back due to a "cut" penalty.
 
Whoa! That's a lot of DPs!!! To a certain extent that might've been a good thing, the Mustang traffic was a big part of why my race went south, but in the other hand it added so much to the experience! Dicing trough traffic while staying ahead and being clean, fair and respectful to the Mustang's race takes so much freaking concentration! Specially when you are coming 3 wide into T1 with 2 Mustangs ahead of you going 2 wide trough T1! God that's an awesome experience!
 
There were 12 Mustangs in my split. It was hair raising at times, but alot of fun. Just wish iRacing would mix a proper GT car with the Riley. The Mustang is a good car in its own respect, but too slow to be mixed with the Riley.

Definitely! By the looks of it we will get the cadillac next season and hopefully it will run with the DP! It would be awesome if they brought the Ford GT and MCLaren down to the same spec as the Caddy and expand to more than 3 cars per race, that would be an awesome Grand Am series!

Who said it will be next season? McLaren hasn't come yet and neither has the older Lotus. These will have to come first before the Cad.
 
I remember the flag bench shown but I thought it would stil let me finish given there wasn't too much time

It was fun trying to pass the mustangs but they were a really slow through the bustop. They seemed to always want to block you and hold the inside line in the entry to bus stop and then practically crawl through at 60 mph with no room to get by..

haha, know you know. I find that if you don't do what the black flag says before the next lap your DQ'ed. If its a slow down, do it straight away, if its pitt for repairs etc, you got to do it before next lap, i.e. go into the pitt before the next lap.

No official word, just speculation from what we've seen so far. We may even see it before that!
 
Black flag (unfurled) = 4 laps to take care of your penalty. You have a pretty short time to respond to a furled black black (cutting course), do that immediately after getting over to a safe spot of the track.

That's good to know. I managed three laps on an meatball black at the end of one oval race. The car was entirely drivable, just the wheel a bit off-centre. I was crapping myself the whole way that the game was going to decide to boot me though.

There are definitely situations like that in which you're not a danger to others and it's nice to know how far you can push the rules.
 
Good luck in your race this week Mad! I watched the update from round 2, how come you missed it?? Mitchell had a penalty so your in the sweet spot haha

Sorry to disappoint you.... But i'm taking a bit of a break from "competitive" sim racing for a while. So not gonna commit to any series' but do the odd races here and there, so maybe i'll do a few monday night races on random occasions but won't be committing to a championship for a while. Just too hard to do work, school (and achieve any kind of result) and sim race at a super competitive level.

Actually, if I remember correctly it has been said that it will be next season due to the deal iRacing made with Cadillac. I think the CTS-V is taking priority over all other cars being developed right now.

Here is a quote from the site iRacerNews.com, they seem to be right on with most of their news, so I think it's accurate:

Cadillac CTS-V R: UPDATES Spring 2012 This car has been scanned and modeled for the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. We expect to see this car released around Season 2, 2012.
UPDATE: iRacing and Cadillac announced today they will partner in building a virtual version of the Cadillac CTS-V that will be competing in the 2012 Pirelli World Challenge. iRacing’s Cadillac CTS-V is expected to be available to iRacing members in the spring of 2012. In addition to developing a virtual Cadillac CTS-V, iRacing and Cadillac are planning a dynamic marketing campaign to maximize the benefits of their new partnership. The Lotus isn't expected until S4 and the McLaren was S3 I think.


Also, remember if you get a black flag for course cutting, you don't have to come to a stop or even go very slow to clear the flag. I normally drop about 3 or 4 MPH off of my speed and the flag is cleared within 10 or 15 secs

Looking at that quote regarding the Caddy, it looks as though it could be a freebie.

The only reason is that they want it accessible to all members. The only way that would happen is for people to get it free of charge.
 
These constant HTTP 400 and Invalid URL errors are killing me. Seems like about 20% of the time I want to get into a race I get that error message and then I can't get into the member site for about an hour after. Tried searching and couldn't find any solutions.
 
Ok i just did a race and although i went off track once and had a collision worth 4 points i got +0.15 woo! I was going slow through the whole race on purpose and i only beat people who quit but im just trying to get out of rookie.

The off track was because i got distracted because i was looking at a smoking car and later in the race in racing terms i guess the 4 point off collision was my fault but i was going slow and trying to give the guy an open lane to pass me (which he easily could have done) but instead he decided to hit me and since i went slow it took off me!
