makes sense, thanks
Well the safety rating(SR) system goes off of corners per incident(CPI). Meaning the more corners you drive clean with no incidents the more SR you will gain. If you have a incident every couple of corners you not going to gain obviously. In general to gain SR you have to do a clean 0 incident races sometimes multiple races clean to gain SR depending on how you CPI is looking.
If you have even 1 crash or just a few incidents like 1x off track you are going to lose SR most of the time. Only time you can gain a little SR and have incidents is in the longer races where you might get a incident or two and the start of the race and the rest of your race is clean so you had a lot of clean consecutive corners. Also 1 crash as you said is kinda vague because 1 crash could be 1 incident or you could have had multiple incident points in that 1 crash. For example someone could push you off track and you get a 4x for that then you spin getting another 2x then if you were to run off track that could be another 1 or 2x then if you hit the wall that could be another 1x. So it's possible to rack up 5-9 incident points from just 1 crash.
I think they went through the track list and thought "hmm, this car hates coming over crests, which tracks have the most crests?"
Just did a decent race in it at Mid Ohio. Spun on lap 1 going a little too wide and still on power, after that it wasn't bad, only times off track were trying to make moves next to another car...that doesn't work with these it seems. Lost all stability even on the inside of turn 1 taking a little bump with the outside car. I did t-bone a car that spun and came across the middle of the track and only crumpled the front, no real damage (maybe aero). The key to keeping the car handling well is to absolutely never lock up a tire and pay attention to where it spins the inside wheel (exit of turn 2, using 2nd gear can do it) and don't do that either. Qualified 4th finished 9th. Better than I've been doing anyway.
Roush_fan_99so If I'm drafting at Talladega, and I get a contact (0x) for bumping the guy in front, does it affect my SR at all?
But.... If you 0x and the guy you touched screws up because of it. You will receive the 2x 4x for causing it.
Lol, I was hoping you would pull past him. That kid behind me was making me nervous. Turned out he was actually a great racer. Gotta love that SS series when you have clean air. Did my "hillbilly" accent make you chuckle? Great racing Aaron.
I don't have a mic so I can't hear you
Guys I know this is last week's conversation but the news just surfaced, not quite iRacing but the closest competitor is doing it:

Hopefully this will push them to get arround doing it!
no, I didn't hear you, but I saw it downloaded it, just personal preference, I turned rear rebound stiffness down 2 clicks to 8 too help with braking, the setup is just a tad loose on exit which is fine, it even took 2 seconds off my time, I'm down to the 1:33.6 range, averaging in the low 1:34's thanks:tup:.
where is the setting for the headset to come through speakers at?
Hard to get excited when one realizes it takes them forever to add a new car. Theyve announced all these new cars and havent added anything since the caddy
I love the homda hsv too
I know the hardcore oval guys are having a fit lol. I've seen some post on the forums about people complaining there are too many road cars coming out and no oval cars. A good friend of mine that races only oval really was just talking about it the other day too. I'm sure he was real happy to see the new Honda coming out lol. I like having new cars in general but I race right much oval as well so I would like to see some more oval cars come out like a super late model. Only thing about so many road cars coming out is it starts to water down the series. There are road series now that hardly has any participation and now they are coming out with 4 more road cars.
Nurb 24hr is coming up though, maybe they're just out there pushing the product with a booth and whatever. iRacing staff have said the Ring will have a massive load on the PC performance. And honestly its a horrible racetrack.
Finally got my first win in under a week of having the sim

The race was pretty clean from m point of view and the lapped cars didn't try and race you (which is extremely rare in the rookie series)
Edit: Just got my second win

Ummmm, the Cadillac only came out a few weeks ago. They aren't going to release a new car mid-season anyways. So don't expect anything new until S3, at that point I believe we will be receiving the McLaren (possibly the Lotus 49, can't remember the order).
Both Hondas have been confirmed, look on the main page.
nice! too many new cars and too little time! They are starting work on the Hondas this fall, the McLaren and Lotus we are getting next season possibly the Ruf too. The Hondas will be released on January, they've already announced the partnership with Super GT and the official super GT series to start on S1 2013.
