Sorry for bringing this thread slightly off topic, but I didn't think my question warranted a new thread.

What are your opinions on running iRacing on one screen only? I know that with only one screen you can't see the side mirrors, which is a trouble.

You can in most cars, I run 80 degrees Fov and when I sit in my real mustang, I see just about what I on my single TV, however I run Virtual mirror anyway but I can still see my left mirror and about half of my rear view

Not really, it's what I use and when racing with experienced guys I have no issues whatsoever. You still have the virtual mirror and the F3 black box wich gives you more than enough to have very good situation awareness.

ok, so I just did my first test session with the V8 Supercar and there's something about it that I like and there's something about it that I don't. Are there any decent Road America setups for it? I think I want to run it this season but I'm not sure, so I wonder how much a decent setup will alter my opinion.

BTW I'll post a semi decent road setup for the legend, tell me your thoughts

And holy cow Jav you got..... a combination of skill and luck there

Another question is there anybody who uses CSP's (V1 or V2) that uses this brake rumble program with or without a fanatec Wheel? I don't understand how I am supposed to use it, does it automatically rumble when I lockup? or do I have to set a preset percentage? (http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/1477397.page)

Does basic membership get you all you need for the rookie class?

Jav, check the announcements page for a couple Street Stock and Late Model setups.

I haven't been on iRacing in over a week, started late tonight with Miatas around Charlotte. Held 4th for a long time. Chris Hughson was miles away up front, and the 2nd and 3rd place guys were bumper to bumper until they connected on one of the last laps and let me take 2nd.

Then tried out the Legend on Road America. There was a wreck in turn 1 that I kind of panicked, locked up, got into the sand and couln't get it turned away from the wall. 3 minute tow. Later I got it sideways on the carousel, countersteered, then snap oversteered off the track into a wall for more repairs. When that was finished only three cars remained on the track (one other Legend, one Street Stock), and I was apparently on the lead lap. With ten 2:45 laps to go at my damaged pace, I just quit.

Matty, "basic" membership includes everything for rookie. There's no other membership level, "basic" is a little misleading.

Thanks Eric. Will go for one of those basic packages with other stuff for $75.

NASCAR Cup car or Truck though.

Have you played iRacing yet? I kind of caution people to get too heavily invested in it without getting introduced with like a three-month membership.

Eric what kind of times are you running undamaged in the legend? btw the legend is all about small adjustments when it comes to counter steer

Eric.

I would have to get a computer anyway so I'll be heavily invested before I could even get the 6 month Cadilac deal. So I may as well add another €60 since that's the price of PS3 games in these parts.

I have no idea, I don't think I had any good laps. I like the Legend on more technical courses. I think they did a full week on a different track every day for 2011S4W13. Road America is just too fast and straight for these to be much fun.

I used the 2.93 rear end and was hitting 125mph. I think that's real close to the rev limiter.

When I saw most Late Models drivers didn't qualify I just thought: Uh oh...

BTW I'm using the baseline, my optimal is 2:36 or 2:37, not sure, but I didn't manage to get a lap below 2:38 yet. It's a long track and I always screw up somewhere.

Edit: I mean the road baseline iRacing provides.

Last night I drove the Street Stock car and qualified 5th overall with about 25 of the other NASCAR cars behind me, I was confident I was going to get killed, but somehow managed an incident free first lap. They had all gone by before the kink and I had a great battle for the win in my class; the other guy got me but it was hella fun!

That Street Stock is an absolute disaster to drive by the way!

Yeah, I tried the Street Stock at first but didn't like it much. I had raced the Legends at Lime Rock during the last Week 13 so I decided to go with it since it would require less training to stay on the track.

The Late Model seems fun but I don't have it.

Me too! Drove the Legend's in the past at Summit and had a blast, but wanted to try something different and ended up in the SS since I don't have the Late Model. I can't see buying it just for Week 13 events.

I still can't believe how BAD the SS was. LOL!

I am thinking of selling my t500rs pedals and getting a set of csr elite pedals,
but first I have to find a good price to sell the pedals+bodnar cable+bodinhausen adapter.

Is this a good price point?
-T500rs pedals 100$
Bodnar cable 30$ (normally 35$)
Bodinhausen Adapter 20$ (normally 30$)

Seriously starting to like this, managed a 4th place finish on Charlotte Road in the Miatas in a 15 car field, without wishing to toot my own horn, but I'm pretty satisfied with that.

You have to brake in a straight line or your gonna go for a loop. After you get that part right its actually a pretty fun track. At first I couldnt get past turn 3 then figured out the straght line braking.

Even when you do there are a few turns you really have to feather the gas. I will admit it seemed like a fun track, but also nerve racking lol.

Just when I was starting to like Charlotte, it bit me hard, leading with 7 laps to go and I lose concentration for a split second and run into the wall at corner 1... felt like a complete moron. Oh well thats racing ;)

Lol! It happens! Don't worry you only have 3 hrs of Charlotte left!

I was just starting to like it, my safety rating keeps dropping because I keep getting involved in incidents, the last race I was in some idiot spins me on the first lap and I go from 5th to 18th just like that.. race before that, some guy comes down off the banks and clips my front end, causing us both to spin.. frustrating, so I'm venting, sorry guys.. Where did all these morons come from?

It is a pretty fun track once you get it down! Just make sure you're at 3.0 or higher by Monday if you wanna get out of Rookie.
The Morons are the guys that come from the consoles thinking they're hotsh_t because they can lap the AI in a 10 lap race and have never actually done anything on an organized level. They come and go and rarely get out of rookie before they get frustrated and go back to being a superstar in the console!

They make me nervous as hell, you see them lock up, spin, etc and then when they get in behind you, you don't know what they'll do next.. The races are long, people feel they need to make there move on the first lap or they lose... annoying as hell for the few people such as myself who race others as clean and possible and are looking for clean, fun, and fair competition.

Yea I never understood idiots. You are paying to play and yet there are still jacka$$es that play demolition derby. Luckily I have had not too many problems with those types of people. I'm sitting at 2.72 I believe ( had a long break of no racing).

2.27... it happened again, its like trouble and mayhem are attracted to me or something.

lolololol. Holy cow. If you hadnt driven onto the grass you would have been history....a real legend.

I have never been in a safety car period. Are they rare on Road Courses?
