Finally broke into the 59s on Limerock in the MX-5, I'd constantly run low 1:00s but couldn't quite break into the 59s.

Alright, I purchased the Mustang, as well as Watkins Glen and Road America. Hopefully I'll get some testing in tonight, and maybe try a race tomorrow. I can now do 8 weeks in both the SRF and Mustang, as well as 4 weeks in Grand-Am, so I should be busy this season!

Thanks for the help Mac, hopefully I'll see you on track soon!

Are you sure it was an unofficial race/ iRating is not in play and SR is .5 in unofficial races.

Quite; my iRating dropped because of the lack of a "join race" button. iRacing failed me. But, then I got into some unofficial races. And, today, another official race. :grumpy: 🤬 MX-Solstice drivers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont worry about irating for the time being, it will go up and down several times before you really get the hang of everything. Mine danced from 1600-1800 for months, but now im regularly above 2000.

On a side note, Laguna Seca sucks for SR. I just did another Mustang race and didnt hit anyone but still 11 incident points because of "off track" which i never really was. So sensitive there...

Especially the final turn, hard not to get done there. Also a line I was taking through the corkscrew kept saying I've cut the track, but it's the same one I used in quali and it never said cut or off track

Does anyone else think the dirty windscreen effect might be a little over done? After a race at Laguna my windscreen was a mess, even though I was 3 seconds behind the guys in front for most of the race. I've never seen dust just stick to a windscreen like that before IRL

I really like the dirty windscreen to be honest, doesn't seem overdone to me.

I like it too, although the chunks of debris are a little excessive. Looks like the windshield hasnt been cleaned for a month, but i like the dust effect. About to hop in the Mustang race again, hoping for a top 5 and low SR this time.

Well I agree with that someone: results

Try duplicate that with GT5

I really agree, best thing about the build in my honest opinion, a 50 minute race made it pretty dirty. even a couple of flies hitting the windshield. But very realistic in what I experienced so far.

I wounder how it will be in night races though ;)

In GT5 you had only 16 drivers if you were lucky. Like Erik shows us iracing can produce 20 - 40 drivers each 2 houres for each championship.

I can't complain about finding official races right now. I tried diffrent leagues this week. And everywhere i go there were alot of people. Not sure its becaus its the first week of the season or the new update in the scoring system, but i like it!

The dirt on the screen is cool. I blown up my engine, all the debris was falling on my windscreen, I had to find the pit almost blind.

Was running the Vette on Watkins Glen in GT Challenge, started 9th and about 20 minutes in I was up to 4th, battling for 3rd. I make the pass and the guy punts me into the bus stop, whatever. 3 laps later I'm back behind him again, I've got a nice pace going when the phone rings and scares the daylights out of me, concentration is lost and I end up spinning into a wall... needless to say this was me

I had a podium finish for sure, hell maybe even a win. Oh well, live and learn I guess. Onto the next one :)

Tested the windscreen at a longer race(grand AM) and yeah it gets dirty

Becaus i was not really comfy whit the car+track i started a bit easy. Got a bit overrun by other cars. I missed my flow and found myself going off track quite often. Need to improve my racing lane on the track(Barber).
My first race is always my "learning" race. So i am usually a bit better in my second race.

yes I was, spotting for L Garnett witch was a handful ;)

Yeah, he forgot to say it was my first Grand Am Race, I had a new setup, I had a 8 minute pit stop.... and did I mention it was my first Grand Am race :)

It's not like I'm thinking of some excuses or any thing.

Ah. After actually experiencing it, I don't think I'd ever step foot in a Mustang in Grand Am. Maybe if there were 10 Mustangs, not just a few loners. Hard to decide sometimes if you're making a dive or that the Mustang was giving you the turn.

I fought Michael Schneider for the whole race. I screwed up twice and braked too late, getting into the grass on turn 4. Would catch back up every time though. I think I set some new PBs while making up that space.

I will use a bit higher tyre pressures next race. then my car doesn't get out of shape on the hill at corner 3. However i spin around more quickly in other parts...

I'll be running the Mustang this week in Grand-Am, GTP takeover anyone?

Damn, I missed the race by 2 minutes because I was eating :D.

Good news is it looks like I am in the running for Division 6 Championship, I'm currently first out of 2 entries in the division :D.

Somehow I don't think that tire pressure is going to affect your car getting light coming over a hill. Either go over it very straight at full throttle (even in 4th gear can help) or reduce throttle a lot.

@Mac - Watch your mirrors. Then watch your mirrors. And go ahead and check your mirrors one more time. There are only a few places the DP can't get by easily, mostly the last sector of the track. Don't make sudden changes to your line or brake suddenly and a good DP driver won't cause either of you problems. I was making passes on the outside of Mustangs too, mostly in turn 2, so really its just a matter of holding A line and making sure that its clear what you intend to do.

I've raced Grand-Am before actually, several DP drivers said I was predictable and could get by me with ease, knock on wood I haven't had an issue with any DPs in the 4 races I've done.

I'm sure it's been said/answered a million times, but would somebody explain what idiot, and why, the Skippy has the tach turned down?!? First rule of setting gauges: set them horizontal or better yet so that the ideal position is at 12 o'clock.

Oh, and the car is horrible, especially at WGI. Yes, I know you have to figure it out, but as a F2000 engineer, these things are insulting!

/rant. Thank you :)

Isn't it turned so that you see the full motion of it instead of it being blocked by the wheel?

I have a question about the tracks. I couldn't find any info yet.

I never bought the track "Oxford Plains Speedway" and I never noticed this track to be part of the basic content. But now it is listed in my available tracks.

Was it basic content all the time, and I have just overseen it? Or has it been added during the latest patch? (couldn't find anything in the patchnotes...)

Did another race, and my windscreen didn't get anywhere near as bad. In the other race someone blew an engine off in the distance, so maybe the dust was sticking to some of the oil? If so that's cool I guess.
When does the new week start? Tuesday night or morning? (Australian time if possible, not near my PC)

It takes quite some time if you're not behind a car that's kicking up dirt and stuff. Think about it, your windshield doesn't look like that after driving for an hour, does it? Mine was nice and dirty at the end of my Grand Am race, so I think they have it scaled very nicely.

Time change is at 00:00GMT Tuesday morning, whatever that is for you. Ends up being Monday night in the states.

Trying to set the new spotting feature working, couldn't figure it out. Saw Eric's guide, followed it step by step and still can't get it working.. Any tips? I've tried everything mentioned in his post.
