Just bought six new tracks: Oran Park, Zolder, Zandvoort, VIR, Daytona and Indianapolis. This means I now own all the road tracks available (not counting oval tracks with road configurations that are almost never used), which leaves the path clear to start spending money on the oval side in 2013.

I don't have all the road cars yet but I'm not interested in buying any new ones for now. I'll probably get the McLaren once it's released though.

Does anyone have Fanatec Clubsport Pedals? I've really been drooling over a set as of lately to pair with my G27... most reviews I've seen praise it (except the price) and I know I could mod my "stock" pedals but..

You could eBay off your G27 pedals to off set the price. Those should be relatively easy to get rid of. DFGT users love those.

Yes sir, I do own CSPs and when they are working I absolutely love them! I've been told by many people that the rate at wich I go trough Loadcells is just not normal. After my last faliure Thomas took care of me and tehy've been working fine ever since.
I would say a definite yes go for it! The braking pressition you'll get is just stupid, they are awesome!

Oh man the 20th can't come soon enough!! Can't wait for that car to finally get here!

How do you maintain your pro license, do you have to compete and do well in the F1 series?

I've always wondered how the guys got the pro status too, glad someone thought to ask how it's done. :)

I have them and love them dearly. There is a plugin for iRacing to make the brake pedal motor vibrate when the wheels actually lock up (approximately). This is a feature I don't like to drive without now.

The only problem I have had with them in the past year was easily fixed by tightening a screw.

Hopefully Danilc or Mad will explain it better for us, I know Dany did explain it all on the pro-series thread but I can't recall the specifics.

On another note, Bryan Herta's advice on Simulators:

Is there any point in trying to strive for a pro license? It isn't like you need it, you really only need it if you want to run the world championship, and this isn't like GT5 where you need to "100% it" like a game and move on.. Sure I was happy to get my B class license, but it wasn't like I made it a goal of mine to get it.. If you know what I mean..

A new SAFE video? Thanks for posting Jav.

It makes your license black.

PRO! If I could ever be so lucky. It requires a good amount of time it seems to get it and maintain it too.

Is it me or seems like it's hard to actually move your irating up alot. It seems I'm stuck around 1200 mark which I know sucks. I actually think I drive fairly smart but either half folks over drive or get taken out because they don't drive smart like if someone slows randomly to maybe get they are checking up for reason.

lol, oooo more colors? :sly:

Mac, just be sure you have plenty of time to learn the clubsports before you want to do a really serious race (I mean more serious than official races, like ones where you win stuff :P, I went from DFGT to csp v2 and it was a whole new ball game) but they are really very nice, and I recommend adding 1 or 2 spare loadcells to your order, I've heard that if you do them separate there's some huge shipping fee (I still haven't broken one yet). Otherwise they're great and very adjustable.

The hard part of getting a PRO license is doing it by yourself. The F1 setup is pretty complicated and it's much easier when you have a team to test setups and strategies.

As far as I know the only two Brazilians who got a PRO license are Hugo Luis and Mogar Filho, and they're both in international teams (My3id and Radicals). I've ran a few league championships with Mogar, he's pretty fast and he really dedicated himself a lot to get into Pro. Hugo is on another league though, he's just way way fast and almost never makes a mistake. Though he said he's a bit tired of running the WC, not sure if he'll do it next year. There is another Brazilian I know that could get PRO if he wanted to but he only likes to run league championships. He's not as fast as Hugo but he's faster than Mogar.

So I'm ready to buy 6 items and could use some recommendations. I don't really care about oval at this point. I've been running mostly Nvidia Cup for my first month in iRacing. I'm at class D with 3.99 SR, and I'm ready to move to the Mustang Challenge and Grand-AM series. I will buy the Mustang and Road Atlanta for sure. Probably Sebring (big ALMS fan).

What else? Watkins? Daytona?

Anything I should avoid?

Thanks! :)

When I complete a full race in the Skippy without perishing in flames; it makes me feel like a pro.

Does that count? :)

Well if you're planning on running the Mustang and Grand-AM series you should check their calendars to see which tracks to buy, but the most popular are Watkins and Road America I guess. Newer tracks tend to make it into most series as well, so you should consider Zolder and Oran Park as well.

Not sure if this will help you but this is how I am going about my purchases...
I seem to buy the tracks that appear in the series' that I will be racing and look ahead to racing in my next series. For example I race the Grand Am and IndyCar Series at the moment, so I buy the tracks that run in both the series' to start then but the others as they come along.

Also, out of Watkins and Daytona, I'd say Daytona 100%. Watkins just doesn't fill my bubble.

Spooble, I think you must follow Skidmarx advice.

I once entered the Iracingnews challenge MC. Becaus the whole season runs on track you already have. One i got a bit used to iracing i bought tracks of entire series. Like whole Grand AM. After you got 2 full season of track. You can participate in alot of races. Buy on what your planning to race in the future.

Lol! Not undeestimatig at all! If you make it you are an alien, simple as that!! We have quite a few of them here in GTP!

Just lost .28 SR because somebody decided to brake test me on a straight...
Gonna have to pull something out of the bag if I want to race at Indy in the Dallara this week. I need .55 SR.

I may be able to do it, but I need 2 clean good finish races which I can do, if the MX5's are willing to play ball and allow the Solstices through.

Thanks for the advice on the CSPs guys, I'm not sure if I'm willing to make the investment yet, but I'll keep your advice in mind :)

Anyone seen the the latest SAFE is Fast video on racing sims? Wasn't what I was really expecting to be honest..

I don't know what video it is. But Safe is indeed fast. I am not fast but results are there if i am safe. :dopey:

And Skidmarx if you are taking a spin whit a MX-5 or solstice on laguna. make sure you qualify infront. If not, there is not much SR to gain if you start at the back or midfield.
