Either way , you need all 3 cars to join a session so buy the Ford and do some testing in it. Due to the popularity of the Mclaren , if you want plenty of people to race against , it's the obvious choice at the moment though. :)

Man , you guys need to read the manual ! I thought everyone used it.

No, not the manual. That's something that I saw in a YouTube video of a practice session:

This guy is Madison Downs, and he's awesome. I can't find the exact video, but, it was a V8 Supercars hot lap thing, at Oulton Park.

Edit:

It's towards the end. When I saw that, I knew to hit the forums.

 I had to go look up what the Tab button actually does :)
It's been programmed into my wheel since the start (when I read about it's importance here) and I really couldn't live without it at this point.
I also never understood how F3 worked as I would press it, but nothing on my screen would indicate where anyone was - unless I was looking at the black box that had changed to 'relative' - which I didn't notice had changed.

Fortunately the DFGT has so many buttons that I don't need a keyboard. so far...

Lastly, no takers on the Hosted, GTPlanet only race?
When, where? What did I miss?

The G27, on the other hand. You'll never fill it. I've still left 3 of the standard on-wheel buttons empty, without even touching the shifter...

But, you've given me the brilliant idea of mapping Tab to my G27, to one of the unused 3...

Thanks, Hydro; helping a countryman!

Anyone here up for a Hosted Race? I might host a Star Mazda race @ Zandvoort or Sebring, for Christmas/New Year holiday fun.

And, speaking of which, Merry Christmas, Australian iRacers! (And every one else in the time zones of tomorrow.

P.S., it won't be today or tomorrow, it'll be after Christmas (Jan. 3rd or such)

Second (or third?) edit:

It might also be Barber or VIR, since they're also quite fun.

Anytime :D My wheel is completely mapped out - makes me feel like an F1 driver, in an MX5

I'll have to pass on the GTPlanet race, I don't have the car(s) or tracks. I'm of course up for anything that involves Mosport - in true Canadian fashion!

When I put the TGA file on trading paints what should it be? The TGA file I named "Brumos Mustang.TGA" or the TGA file in the Mustang folder with my customer ID and the .tga?

Not true, since 2012's first season you don't neen to own all the cars used on official series.

That's what I thought, If I have 1 car I just need to dl the others (at no charge) so the cars can be 'seen' by me when I'm racing.

Thanks for the input on GT cars guys - looks Like the McLaren is the way to go at this time. I just can't argue with the field sizes.

I feel like I've spoken to him before... on this on forum... ;)

Some say his bones are made of titanium............ and that his brain is the source of the NTM, NSM, NBM and NsM!! All we know is he's called........

Sir Patrick Stewart?

I've made a bit of a cock up then. I joined in August this year and can clearly remember buying the Ford because of a "purchase content" message. Maybe it was only a track that I needed to buy.

Only driven the Ford once too. :ouch:

If you tried to join a hosted session, yes you still need all of the content purchased that is being used in that session. In official races you only need to own the car you want to use and the track.

A race at Mosport could work, but, I'm afraid it might not be as popular.

Again, this is the point of a discussion forum, isn't it?

Lastly, merry Christmas, guys. It's finally official for 70+% of GTP users.

I'd be up to race at mosport! A star Mazda race? Or could we get fancy and add the new McLaren and a prototype?

And merry Christmas!

I'm up for any race at Mosport. Santa brought me some iRacing credits and a new Steelseries headset.. ;) Bought the Daytona Prototype and the Mclaren.

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but for a hosted race (like the one we're planning) would I have to own all the cars being used? Or just the car I'm racing?

Also, does iracing sell physical gift cards? Or are they the virtual only?

Whats the secret with the Daytona Prototype? Baseline setup I'm hitting low 1:57s on Suzuka in practice, and I don't know what I'm missing..

Im looking to get back into iRacing. Anything ive missed?
Not much, the L49 isn't out yet but the Mclaren is

Iirc, the car likes soft springs, low downforce, a decent amount of rake, and gearing was pretty important also. I ran about half the premier series in the DP before becoming overloaded at work and had to bow out. I got my hands on a few setups while running the series and the fast sets are really tough to drive. I couldn't believe how little downforce was being used at Barber.

How far off is 57's at Suzuka? I've never ran the DP there.

Thanks, I've just been using the baseline setup.. I've been driving the Mclaren too, won a hosted race with it last night. It's a pretty good car and I don't think it's as great as people make it out to be, but I still really like it..
