Lap 1: entire field destroyed.

Something about Mac K's interesting car choice.

Who's the bad driver now? I just joined, spectated, and won your race; I was ghost-driving.

You guys are killing me. I wish I could be in two places at once.

Have fun and drive safe! :)

The Jetta's faster than the garbage MX-5.

And, I'm also doing quite well in the Jetta. I'm a talented driver, but, I require a car with SOME sort of predictability.

Amazing, though, really, that I can generally drive a Star Mazda around Barber and be only a second off of the record pace, and the Jetta, and only be a second or two off of the pace (at every track,) but then hop in the MX-5 and have trouble driving it. I did nvidia cup with it, (barely) and got way too sick and tired of it. And I'm not the only person who has trouble driving it; so does every other person who got iRacing less than a month and a half ago.

But, if you want to attack me, and say that I'm a rubbish driver, go ahead. Wait, no, that's not your place, since you're not an iRacing staff member.

Indeed, I lack the "patience" required to drive a piece of junk MX-5. I wanted to enjoy it, but, the car choice was horrid. I'm sorry to rain on your parade, but, what you think was a "good car/track combination" wasn't; otherwise iRacing would run races there... But, no, no thanks, I'll stick to Jetta on Watkins Glen Boot. That, in every sense of the word, IS a good/car track combination. It felt awesome.

I'm not attacking you. I might point out that everyone who got iRacing less than a month and a half ago has trouble driving the MX5 not because it's a naturally hard car, but because they're having trouble adapting to iRacing itself. This isn't GT5 you know.

It wasn't a good combination for you, and I can understand that. Sonoma is a tough track, the cresting corners are unforgiving, and the winding section at the end requires very precise steering and throttle control to keep speed up. I found that enjoyable. I've driven Sonoma once since I bought it in a test session, so I was having fun trying different lines and angles through corners.

You enjoy the Jetta at Watkins, which is a perfectly good combination. Watkins is a great track, one of my favourites. Personally, I would find the combination a bit dull because there wouldn't be enough room for finessing the car, but that's just my style. I like a car that moves around a bit, and I find Watkins more suited to the touring type cars.

Still, you can't claim that you're a great racing driver yet you're unable to handle an MX5. You just can't. It's not a hard car to drive. I see no evidence in your profile that you've ever driven the Star Mazda in an actual session, you must have been running in test mode. So I can't verify that. I can look at your Jetta races, though.

You ran a few at Road Atlanta, so that's probably a fair track to take a look at. Best qualifying time for that was a 1.36.1xx. Your qualification time was a 1.38.6xx. Which is pretty good, anything within about 3 seconds of top pace is generally pretty solid.

But it doesn't mean that you can consider yourself a great driver in ALL cars, and it doesn't mean that when you have trouble it's the fault of either the car or the track. I don't like driving the V8, I think it's an abomination of a car that is constantly trying to kill me. But I don't claim that my inability to drive it is the fault of the car, I just haven't developed the skill set to be quick and safe in it.

Just face up to the fact that you're not as fast in the MX5 as you are in the Jetta. It's not the fault of the car, or the track. And it's not your fault either, it's not a fault thing. It's just that you haven't had an opportunity to learn how to drive the thing fast. Maybe you could, if you took the time. It would likely be a good thing for you, the skills you learn in the MX5 are very transferrable to other cars. But hey, it's up to you.

P.S. Any time you have to claim that you're a talented driver rather than just letting your driving speak for itself, you're probably on the back foot. Just saying.

P.P.S. I have the same right as anyone else to pass comment on your driving, especially in a race I took part in. I don't need to be an iRacing staff member to do that. I'm not being rude, although I am being direct. You can look at my profile (Nicholas Forster) and decide whether you think I know what I'm talking about.

If anyone has ever driven in a series with Mel, would know this is not new behavior. I didnt want to say anything, but talking bad about Mac's room isnt cool by any means. I personally thought it was a fun combination and if it werent for my boneheaded driving on lap 2 i would have stayed competitive. Mac didnt force you to join his session, but you did and then proceeded to whine about it, even during the race. Everyone else seemed to be having a good time and i look forward to doing more GTP races in the future.

No, the Mustang race was fine.

 Your dollar was well worth it, just to hear that trashy accent.

After that last crap fest, I'm gonna put on more up in about 10 minutes.. Watkins Glen Classic Boot, Spec Racer and Solstice, rolling start, 1 pit stop required, 20 laps.

:( Me no have the Glen... Yet... I'm getting it tomorrow :(

Is there no SR gains or losses for New Years? 3 races and a handful of TT and Quals and not a single gain or loss of any SR for any driver. Anyone know whats up with that?

I lost -0.02 in a TT (interrupted by phone call :lol), and then got one back. So, no..., ummm, I don't think so.

Yeah, I just read that, oh well, what a waste of money then, I just ran another Carb Cup race, they decided on the pace lap who was going to win, thats kind of a waste to me, but oh well, it's only car and track money, maybe if I kiss the right asses and suck up to the right guys I can win one someday too :D

Actually, I dont really care about winning, but if I cant get SR from it, and I cant ever drive well enough to finish in the top 10 or 5 unless the other drivers decide you can, then it's a complete farce.

Can anyone tell me what other series dont have SR so I can avoid them too?
