I'll be putting up a hosted session at Mosport later this afternoon if anyone wants to join. MX-5 and Mustang. Fixed setup and half a tank of fuel max to try and encourage pit stops. 30 mins of practice, 15 mins of qualifying, 25 lap race.

I bit for the Asus DC2 Top 680 and 3 x 27" Hannspree monitors. Installed the 680 this weekend and FPS is in the high 400's at max settings (1 screen at 1920x1080). Monitors should be here Thursday. Then I have to build a mount of some sort.

Sweet, i just bought Mosport. As long as you start it in the next hour or so ill be able to join. Work later :(

Session is about to go live! It's called MX-5 and Mustang at Mosport. See you guys there :)

I wish iRacing would do things like that. Pit stops add so much fun and strategy to even shorter races.

Thanks Mac for hosting the race, hopefully everyone had fun.

Sorry Mel for the first lap accident, totally my fault. I just got caught looking in my mirror too much, and the intense slowdown in that turn just caught me off guard. Again, totally my fault, and sorry.

Sorry to everyone for my rookie mistakes, none of them should've happened. Also, very sorry for the distracting chit chat during the race. That's not good at all, and I should've known better.

Well, that was my personal worst iRace ever! Glad that's over with... Mosport is a ton different in the Indycar!

If we do it again (which I wouldn't mind, could've been a blast) ill be sure to be more careful!

That's what happens on the first lap.

Your rookie mistakes are fine by me, I'm just making a point; lap 1 never goes as expected. From time to time, I've had to check up to avoid Division 1 guys, at the starts. It's surprising, but, everyone deals with the first lap differently.

If you can't make the pass on a straightaway on lap 1, I wouldn't try it, at all.

In this specific crash, I was just following behind the other Mustangs, minding my own, but Mac K passed me, so I checked up. You and Wyatt both came close to killing me, but, you did take my right-rear tie rod/trailing arm out. I was done for the race, for some reason. It wasn't a horrible tap, either, it was perfectly normal. I guess someone put Wal-mart parts on my Mustang. I spent 5 minutes in the pits getting it repaired, thinking "okay, it might work fine, now" only to go out, and find that the repairs made the crabbing worse. :yuck:

Thanks for stopping by guys, was fun. I'll probably host another one later on this evening, except this time I think it'll be on Sonoma, it's a pretty fun track and rarely gets used.. MX-5 and Solstice this time around instead of the Mustang, unsure of laps, etc. I'll let you guys know the details if I decide to do it.

Which layout?

Long, most likely.

I'm in. I had to check if I had the Sonoma circuit. Anyways, this time might be better. Hopefully I can run a better quali lap, start further ahead of the mayhem; like Kevin tried to.

Oh, Darren, too? All of the Canadians!

I'll run it tonight, 7 PM Eastern, so in about an hour. MX-5 Cup and Solstice at Sonoma Long, 30 mins of practice, 15 mins of qualifying, and 20 lap race+rolling start. Fuel will be limited again and one stop will need to be made to get the full distance completed. Looking forward to it 👍

Excellent! Can't wait!

Damn, wish I could make it. The wife is taking me away from iRacing to grab sushi and go to a party. I'll make the best of it though. :)

Have fun tonight and happy new year guys!

Is there any password to get in? Which course at Sonoma as well?

I can't believe I missed this :(
Oh well, next time.

You guys need some better cars. I can't drive those garbage MX-5s, they're so wrong.

One second they understeer, and the next they oversteer.

Then Mac K's family member tries to dive-bomb me past my braking zone on lap 1... Then stops in the track... :scared: I'm astonished, you guys should be ashamed driving like that.

If you can't drive the MX5, you're not really going to be safe in anything else. They're the most tame and predictable car in the entire service, bar possibly the Jetta which is just slow.

You were the most out of control driver I saw on the track in that race. Stop blaming the car and learn to drive better.

Otherwise it was an enjoyable race. I thought it was a great combination of track and car. Thanks for setting it up Mac. :)

I'm laughing over here honestly, great post 👍.. Watch the replay, how can you dive bomb someone on the outside of a corner Andrew? Just saying.. My FATHER wants to know if you crap yourself, would it be someone else's fault? ;)

After taking a replay, I can't believe I screwed up turn one on the first lap! Thank god no one else was near...

But thanks again Mac!

The Jetta's faster than the garbage MX-5.

And, I'm also doing quite well in the Jetta. I'm a talented driver, but, I require a car with SOME sort of predictability.

Amazing, though, really, that I can generally drive a Star Mazda around Barber and be only a second off of the record pace, and the Jetta, and only be a second or two off of the pace (at every track,) but then hop in the MX-5 and have trouble driving it. I did nvidia cup with it, (barely) and got way too sick and tired of it. And I'm not the only person who has trouble driving it; so does every other person who got iRacing less than a month and a half ago.

But, if you want to attack me, and say that I'm a rubbish driver, go ahead. Wait, no, that's not your place, since you're not an iRacing staff member.

Indeed, I lack the "patience" required to drive a piece of junk MX-5. I wanted to enjoy it, but, the car choice was horrid. I'm sorry to rain on your parade, but, what you think was a "good car/track combination" wasn't; otherwise iRacing would run races there... But, no, no thanks, I'll stick to Jetta on Watkins Glen Boot. That, in every sense of the word, IS a good/car track combination. It felt awesome.

;)

Heads up though, going to open up 1 more hosted session, something a little different.. Solstice at Charlotte Oval, 45 lap race, 4 lap qualifier, 15 min practice. One pitstop will need to be made, just a fun race is all.. you should be able to handle this one ;)
