Jav, thanks for sharing that setup, Its awesome! I even managed to beat Scott Sharp in a practice session by a tenth using identical setups :p

That's awesome Mac! I didn't know he had an account!

Neither did I, he was asking for setups, someone else and myself had the same setup and he said he liked it. Pretty cool stuff :p

Don't let it go to your head! It's always pretty cool to race against those types of guys, the biggest I've raced against was Shane Hmiel which I wrecked him by accident at Talladega pushing him but some how I got raw end of the deal.

I raced against Simon Pagenaud before he was in ALMS. I was going all fan boy when he entered the lobby. Everyone was wondering who this Simon Pagenaud guy was and why I was freaking out over it lol. I met him in real life at a kart race and he remembered me and everything. Such a classy guy. Been a long time fan of him.

Fan boy! I do that but I keep quiet though as I don't want to be that guy at all. Pretty awesome he remembered too.

I always wonder how those guys get their licenses or are they given A class or whatever?

We all do the same!! Lol!

No, they're not given the licenses at all!! Look at Jordan Taylor's(factory Corvette driver) stats and you'll convince yourself they do earn their stats on iRacing fair and square!
Now I'm sure many of the real pro's don't take the sim as seriously as we do and mainly use it for what it really is, a practice tool to keep them sharp and help learn new tracks.

Just got out of an SRF race with Left888, we touched on lap 1 (racing incident, IMO), unfortunatly breaking my suspension and sending me spinning into a wall. I limped around to the pits, and managed to fight my way back up to 6th, from dead last. I set the 2nd fastest lap of the race (1:49.045), only .041 off the fastest time. So I managed to get something from nothing, even gained SR and IR

Good to know as I always wondered how some do but their stats are impressive for sure. I've looked at some of even top sim racers and just impressive to say the least.

Atleast I'm glad I'm not the only one! It's not often I'm ever in a split with top guys anyway.

A couple months ago Joey Logano joined a hosted Late Model @ the glen and a bunch of guys were actually making fun of him talking about what a "big shot" he was, he stayed off the mic if he even had one, and left 10 mins later when the session wasn't going anywhere productive. But ya, there was no respect or anything in that room, pretty sad to be honest.

Always amazes me when som douche sim racer tries to talk crap about a real pro racer or even a club racer!
At the end of the day we are only big boys playing and pretending to be what those man are regardless of what they've accomplished on the big leagues!

Doesn't surprise me that some folks try to act like tough guy over the internet. I might not be fan of a driver but still always seems cool to join a race with them but most seem to stay quiet for most part.

Those types always seem to get on my nerves because usually they are dirty or blame everyone for their mistake or a racing deal. I almost always laugh when they wreck or something and at end of race still complaining til you look at the irating and it's way off from the group.

Generally people don't know me in sessions but, I always like being friendly on iRacing. No matter what happens. All for the public image if I ever do make it anywhere lol. And because I always enjoy meeting new people :)

Wow, that's beyond pathetic. I was in an IndyCar room hosted by Simon Pageneud months ago and the atmosphere was really friendly. I don't know how some guys sat playing on a PC can pass judgement on a guy who puts his life on the line when he goes racing IRL.

Most likely a bunch of stupid Call Of Duty immature kids, but still way out of line and have no place in this service!

I think they are given some sort of deal on all the content though right?

I wouldn't be surprised..

Wow! That sucks man! Some real loonies out there, but all in all it was a blast! Can't wait to try this with the low powered Club Racing type cars, now that's gonna be awesome!

Ok, as promised here's my set for the McLaren for the 2.4:

Remeber I'm still working on it but it should work as a good baseline depending on your driving style.

Thanks. I'm usually very good at adapting to a new tune and getting the same crappy time as my old tune. However with yours, I was easily half a second quicker. Good enough for sixth in class (out of 30ish) in practice last night. That is really good for me. Seams to understeer a little on corner entry compared to baseline (especially turn 4) but is a lot more stable on exit.

I saw the guys from inside sim racing in practice last night. Looks like they are going with the prototypes.

I still dont understand the problems with the NTM.. if they are getting hot on you.. Fill some air into them.. I seen so many people going way down on the air pressure and then complain about how they over heat.. Then I just want to say blame your self, but I have found it amusing to see people think what obviously work in the OTM don't work on the NTM..

I seen people actually think 14-20PSI is enough hot air pressure on a race car with a weight of 1500kg.. funny..

Wait what? The lower the pressure, the less heat is what I've always been told. I'm really confused now...

read in game when hovering over where you adjust air pressure.. and less air pressure will over heat a tire in the real world also. So i hope they don't fix something that is spot on..

Some small issues is there, but the over heating is user mistake, not tire model.

I'm kind of a knucklehead I guess. I didn't have a problem with the OTM, and I don't have a problem with the NTM. It's the same playing field for everyone.

For me they are both a monumental step up from Gran Turismo's tire model which is goofy. The overheating and wear in GT5 is something to complain about in my opinion. iRacing feels good to me. :)

I don't have a problem with it either, but after seeing what the McLaren drives like I have really high hopes for the Ford GT wich needs a fix pretty bad!
The main thing that makes this different is it takes away the silly sliding arround that can come from driving the cars at the limit. I've noticed the sliding more when jumping into the Vette right after being driving the McLaren.

How come when viewing a replay I can't view the very beginning? I have spooling enabled, and that allowed me to view the entire replay before, and now for some reason I can't..
