Yes, actually! In about 1 hour 15 minutes, you in?

That will all depend on which track lol.

I guess I will have to miss the first 2-3 weeks of the iRacing S1 calendar. Literally leaving for India the first day of the season :( Hopefully I can still run for points in the 3 series I was planning on running.

It's at Daytona, I'll be hopping on to practice and hit up the 9:45 qualifying session. I'll give you my tune if you like. Not sure if its good, but it works for me.

I am very slow in the Mustang. I can give your tune a go but, I'm not sure how much benefit you will get out of me driving it lol. I tend to be spending more time in Neutral than anything with the Mustang. For some reason the down shifting just does not work with the Fanatec/Clubsport setup on iRacing.

I might join, i just got off work. Still trying to find a good setup that gives me 15s every time. Id like to take a look at your setup and compare it so i can learn what im doing wrong lol.

I'll share it with you guys either in the race or qualifying if I see you.

Cheers!

Thanks for the setup John! I need to get used to it, but ive already run a personal best lap with it. It turns in to the corners so much better than what i had. My tune was way off, im still used to the GT5 style of tuning which taught me wrong lol.

Good practicing with you Javier and Shinya! I had a 1:44.8 or so in the bag when I 1x'd the exit of the bus stop. Wanted to put my fist through the monitor, LOL. My typical race fuel pace is mid 1:45's so putting together a near perfect lap and then getting a 1x by a few inches killed me.

Considering I'm normally about 3 seconds off the pace, I'm assuming top split guys will be running 1:41's or so without the draft? Maybe 1:39's if any of them decide to get pushed by a DP?

I highly doubt that. Considering 44's were best in the daytime and I as at mid 45's. I'm guessing high 43's at best.

Just ran a 45.4 with a day setup on race fuel. Hopefully I can get a night setup worked out and pick up some time.

Had a good time! But just decided to leave when those 2 kids started arguing over the chat...
World Record stands at 43.5 ATM and that was with a draft so considering this was the first track the car ever officialy ran and that every alien came out to play that week I don't really see it going much lower than that.
Now the real thing is how many people are within a second of that time! That's the most impressive figure to me!

What sort of tire pressures are best? I'm noticing my right rear is always around 115C while the rest are around the 100C mark.

Also, I have a dilemma. I really want to upgrade to triple screens but 1. I'd have to find a way to have a TV hanging off the side of my desk... and 2. If my current graphics card GTX 660 Ti can handle 3 screens. Only thing is, I really want to spend my money on a PS Vita because I'm going to be in India for almost 4 weeks with nothing to do for 2 of them.

Interesting. I'm normally a minimum of 2 seconds off the pace of the real fast guys, but normally ~3. I know Daytona fairly well and I've been driving the McLaren almost exclusively other than oval Indy fixed races. I know Daytona is an easy track, but I find it hard to believe that I had a 1x lap on race fuel within 1 second of the world record. I'm not that good, LOL. Somehow I think we are going to see mid-low 1:42's legit and probably 1:40's cheating the system.

I can't really answer your questions Kamui, but if I were you I'd forget the Vita and get your triples if your card can handle it.

Kamui, you live in Japan, don't you already have a DS like every other single person here? Haha! Just play that for a couple weeks.

If you don't have room for the three screens on the desk you are going to have to rig something up. Either buy a monitor stand or build your own at a hardware store. Not sure what kind of modifications you can make to your desk.

Another option, and it might be cheaper for you and save some space, is to look into 4:3 monitors instead of widescreen.

I don't own a DS. I've never really been into the kiddy games. I have a PSP but I've beat the 3 games that I own for it and am bored of it.

I think it would cost me about 3 times the price to get triple screens in comparison to a Vita. Mainly because I hate the cheaper monitor option. I've never liked monitor displays. I'd be getting 2 TV's to the additional that I already have.

If I were to get triple screens though. I was planning on making a wooden block that I can line the 3 tv's on. the 2 tv's on the table should be able to hold up the 1 tv that is off the table. I think lol.

Finally got into the 1:44's at Daytona Night in the McLaren. Used the most stable setup I could find on the forums. Had a 1:44:5 going but really screwed up the bus stop and ended up with a 1:44.999 LOL! I'm slowly chipping away the times, that was on about 10 gallons of fuel, I know I can probably be a little quicker by taking out fuel and then resetting the rear ride height, but I would really rather qualify somewhat close to my race pace which is inching it's way down to low 1:45's on medium fuel.

Really excited for this race. I want to do both, but I don't think I can pull it off. I'll have to wake up at 4am to do the first one and with a wife, 2yr old, and a newborn (her name is Suzuka :) ) I don't think I'll be able to get away for another 3hrs.

I've got to participate in the World Cup of iRacing finals this weekend, in the road race. My pace was very weak compared to the rest of the field as I was last on the grid (36th), but since every position would count for points I decided to race just to help the club.

I managed to avoid the wrecks at the first lap and I had a good battle with a driver in front and another one behind me for a few laps, until the driver behind me spun my car (not sure if on purpose or not). Fortunately it didn't damage my car and I got back on track. Finished in 21st, which isn't very good but considering the position I started there wasn't much else I could've done. Also, half of our club drivers got involved in accidents at the first lap so I ended up being the 3rd top scorer of Club Brasil just by staying on track.

The Finns and DE-AT-CH dominated the road race, our only driver in the top 10 was Hugo Luis. Our club did much better in the oval race, getting 1st, 2nd and 4th places.

Club Finland won the World Cup for the first time and Club Brasil got second place, our best result ever. Overall it was a fun experience and I was glad to be a part of it.

^Nicely done! 👍 What are we all thinking of running in the 2.4 and when do you plan on running it?

I'll be running the McLaren most likely in the Saturday 1900 GMT race. The first race would be great, but with a family I don't think I can get away with 3 hours of racing at 11am local time.

Jav you have a setup for the 2.4 for the Mclaren? I really liked yours for the Mustang.. :p

At the moment I have 3 55" HDTV's and I am running with 2 GTX 670's in SLI mode and it has been bullet proof. Before that I ran 2 GTX 570's in SLI and they were ok but I had occasional freezing.

I think your GTX 660 Ti would be on the weak side. My advice is to sell that card and at least upgrade to two GTX 670's and run them in SLI. I know of a couple guys that have two GTX 680's and one guy with two GTX 690's a run them in SLI.

I would stay with nVidia in the 6xx series, first off nVidia's drivers are king of the hill. You will get a few of the ATI crowd that will try and convince you otherwise but nVidia is a proven weapon of choice. I also have read of a couple of people that run 1 GTX 6xx card and having good luck.

If you want, try 3 monitors with your card and if it does not work out, then upgrade with two cards and then you can race stress free in triples. When you get back from your trip your triples will be waiting. If you can afford it go with 27" monitors, bigger is better.

Thanks for the information. There's no way I'll be able to fit 2 27's on my desk. The 18 that I have at the moment takes up half of my desk lol.

That's 3 27" monitors, what you need is a triple monitor stand. I think the good ones sell for around $250.00 or so. Check out "Fast Track Sims" at iRacing.com. He has some very nice monitor stands. The center will sit on your desk, then have about a 60-70 degree angle on the outers. Triples changes everything, for the better.

I'm running 3x27's on a single GTX680 and it's working fine for me. I did splurge for the ASUS DC2 Top version which is factory overclocked. I think processor speed can be a bottleneck for iRacing as well. I'm running an i5 3570k overclocked to 4.4Ghz.

I have 2 670s also but I wanted to tryout 1 first so I ordered one and then waited a few days to order the other. I had a very small improvement when going sli, and it added a few stuttering problems that I ended up getting sorted out, but was a little annoying to deal with. I think I might have gained 5FPS overall and my minimum drops didn't change at all. I still drop below 60FPS on spa in the same spots I did with a single 670.

In general one 670 performed better with iracing then the sli 670s that I have when it came to have smooth the sim ran. I never encountered a single stutter when running just one of the cards, but I do still get the occasional hiccup now and then with my SLi.

After seeing how easy a 670 pushed triples in iracing 2 of them is way overkill at 1080p. I could max out AA in the nvidia control panel with one card and run all max settings on every track excpet spa and stay above 60FPS with one card. when I ran tests for max FPS it very rarely dropped below 100 and when it did, it was in the same places that my sli 670s do now. .

As well as a single 670 runs iRacing I imagine your 660 ti would be just about as good with it. I had alot of room to spare with a single 670. And I can't image a 670 getting twice the FPS of a 660ti so you should have plenty of room.

You might have to turn down 2 pass shadows and higher detail in mirros, but I can't tell a difference running them so I turn them off anyway.

If it wasn't for me playing other games on triple screen besides iRacing i would sell one of my 670s and just use one for iracing. I wouldn't doubt if you get better results running one 660ti compared to me running sli 670s. Your FPS probably won't be as high, but it will probably run smoother. I can't imagine it not being able to stay in the at least 80s on any track but spa with triple screens.

One thing that has drove me a little crazy with running sli is the screen tearing. I never needed to run vsync with my single 570 or single 670, but when I went sli 570 I had to turn on Vsync because any tearing drives me nuts,a nd it's the same with the 670s. If I don's use Vsync it stutters really bad and has horrible tearing. I've tried ton of locked FPS and none of them will get rid of both the screen tears and the stutters. With a single 670 I didn't have it at all. I could run it with no lock on FPS and it was super smooth with very, very little tearing.

Definetly try 3 screens before you order any other cards, that 660ti should be fine for triples at 1080p.

Jav you have a setup for the 2.4 for the Mclaren? I really liked yours for the Mustang.. :p

Still working on it small tweats at a time, good for 44.4xxx at the moment. Would you like me to post it here or jump in on a practice session and share it there?

Post it here! PLEASE! I'm desperate for a setup!

I'm trying to decide what tracks to buy for next season. Based on the schedule, I think that I've decided on the following tracks:
Suzuka
Zolder
Interlagos
Sebring

I have room for 2 more and trying to decide between:
Oran park (for srf)
Oulton (for mustang)
VIR (just because I really liked it in FC)
Barber (for grand am and srf)
Zandvoort (gt challenge)
Motegi (for GT challenge)

Any recommendations for which are good tracks in iRacing (I have the cadillac tracks and Silverstone, Spa, Brands Hatch, Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen)? I'm probably more likely to stick to the mustang and/or mclaren for this season but I also want to get tracks that are used frequently.
