Probably realized that they messed up the SRF, Star Mazda, Skippy, and Radical, better to get on top of any issues now.

For the oval people

Ya, it was funny. People pulling out of the pits in slow motion and down to T1 at 20mph. Once you got going and into the top of third it started to work a tiny bit.
Were you able to finish, or did the site go down during the race?

So if were to come back now, people would have 6.5 hours to update and adjust to the new physics before the race. I hope they tested the DP thoroughly and its not too different. I did see a lot of flipping DPs in practice with the new build. Not sure if that was due to the build or bad driving.

Big change (for the better) to th DP:

Jack B from nogripracing.com
Most dramatic NTM change since the original NTM beta. This is based only upon 45 mins in the DP, but the carcass fix, that helped with the excess stored energy beyond the optimum slip angle seemed to make spins more manageable. Really nice. I'm much more consistent.

It even seemed smoother under the limit, but couldn't be sure. Overall though it just felt easier to drive.

[...] What matters though is the NTM and so far with one car it's a very big thumbs up.

I haven't got a chance to really so how much different the cars feel, but the sound changes are nice. The cars sound much more alive with the drivetrain change, and the brake squeal is a nice touch too. It does seem like the overall volume got lowered. I had to raise my AVR from 60 to 70 to get about the sound volume as before.

DP feels pretty good, it takes some getting used to but after some practice I really like it.

^ Sounds the same to me. Really pumped for the 2.4 tonight (and the real race tomorrow), I'll be running the DP in updated Gulf Racing colours, should be fun. I think it'll be a tough one though, almost 3 hours at night in a DP. :p

To me, the DP hasn't changed much. Using last years 2.4hr setup and it still feels pretty good. Does seem a bit more manageable when you miss your marks though. Best of 38.3 and optimal of 37.5.:)

Oh, and the sounds when you shift in the DP are

Bizarre choices from iRacing.

Release a build half a day before the 2.4? Brilliant one that, nothing could go wrong.

And pull the Lotus at the last minute *again*? I mean, I'm glad they're fixing it and all but surely they should have learned their lesson about promising things they can't deliver the first time. A schedule for a full season for a car is a pretty strong indication that it's going to exist.

I love iRacing, but they're not doing themselves any favours with several other high level sims due out in the next year.

Same here! Not high expectations for the V8 though...

You pessimist: it's a "lot more stable now."

steve 81 from nogripracing.com
I've never been into it big but the regulars are saying it's a lot more stable. Old setups are apparently out the window now.

The C6 also made a nice step forward:

Matthias Egger from slipangle.it
la Corva è diventata veramente godibile, molto molto più prevedibile e anche meno cattiva in frenata.[...] Decisamente una build mica male, forse una delle migliori finora, i passi avanti con le gomme sono veramente grandi. [Translation: the C6 has gotten really enjoyable now, much more predictable and also less rough under breaking. [...] This build is not bad at all, maybe one of the best so far, the steps forward with the tires are really big.]

Hit a 2:25.32 in the Cadillac round Spa. Is that a good time?

I was kind of looking forward to some of the new sims coming out, but today I added up all my orders from iracing today. I probably won't even try any of them after seeing how much I ahve spent on iracing.

For me it was the exact opposite. I had to turn down my volume. I did need to turn up my buttkicker for it to have the same effect as before.

If you guys haven't tried the V8 yet....boy you guys are in for a treat!!!
Warning, auditive orgasm of epic proportions:

Maybe it's just with different cars then. I was running the Skippy and had a friend say he noticed the same in i think the Mclaren. I never thought to pay attention to see if the new steering or NTM effected simvibe at all.

Are you running simvibe with your buttkicker?

Good luck to all GTP'ers running the 2.4 this weekend 👍
After having a bit of moan a few pages back about never getting a chance at these events it turns out I don't have to work now so could've have run it, but I just haven't had enough practice to jump into such a long race :grumpy:
Oh well, I'm off to try the new build :)

Good luck to all running in the 2.4 hours of Daytona. I can’t due to the timings today and other things tomorrow. :( hope to do a race like the 2.4 in the future 👍

That sounds heaps better! Especially at full noise down the straight!

I saw it on the forums and had to go check for myself! Man it sounds AMAZING!!! Specially the new drivetrain sounds, my God does it sound yummy off throttle!! Wow! I think i'm gonna give that thing a shot!!

So I went from using David Scott's Low DF race setup in a practice session, running consistent 1'40s, to using Ryan Murray's qualifying set and setting the third fastest lap in the session, a 1'38.7. Now, to figure out how to get Ryan's race-worthy.

I need some opinions. I have a few setups for the DP tonight, one is really quick and I can set fast times in it, but it can be a bit unforgiving, especially on bumps. The other one I have is more stable and easier to drive but about a second slower per lap. I tried combing the two of them, running the gearing from the first and everything else from the second. I'm about .300-.400 slower on average, but it's much more forgiving. Is it a good idea to go with my "modified" setup during the race and sacrifice a few tenths for a stable and fast car, or gain those tenths back but risk spinning easier, etc?
