I worked on my Truck setup for Charlotte. My fastest lap was 29.894 and it was really comfortable. I think I can try keep myself 100% on the throttle and see what will happen.

So I’m going to run the DP in Grand-Am this season. The car feels nicer to drive (for me). anyone have any ideas for me to paint my DP?

Just search random companies until you see a logo you like and work from there :)

Running a full season myself. Got a forth in my first race but also lost 0.08 on my B license cause I forgot I didn't have a Spa setup and ran with a Suzuka setup instead.

Hopefully I feel a lot better in the next few days and am able to get a race in in the Grand Am series with the McLaren. Had an enormous fever of 40.1゜C (104.1゜F) yesterday and it has started to come down now. Anybody know if I was right about the mid 2:20s being a good race time?

So It seems I have been moved to Division 1 this season. A bit scary lol. What is the decider to what division you are put in? Because I didn't run a complete season last season and got moved up from Div 2 to Div 1.

I was fuming last night first race of the season get taken out down the kemmel straight at spa.... I wasnt a happy person. Not at all....

My first races this season weren't too bad. Late model at USA international went ok, qualifying was scruffy but went from 9th and finished 5th. Had some good scraps on the way. Then class b NASCAR at talladega, fixed series. Finished 14th after being left hung out to dry after te 2nd caution and couldn't keep with the field. 0inc in both though.

Managed a 1:24.2 at Okayama with the Corvette with the fixed setup. It feels good but I'd imagine a custom setup would be even quicker, however I can't find one on the forums. Does anyone have one they wouldn't mind sharing? Jav? :D

Last time I do a Grand Touring Cup race without qualifying in the Jetta, it's bad news especially bad at LRP. Fighting through the Mazdas and two of them crash of in to the wall and hit me on two seperate laps and break my steering. Still fast enough to be catching 1st but not long enough in the race.

Had I qualified I could've avoided the carnage and cruised to a win with no incdents. Instead I get a 2nd with two x4s. :S

this is the season i plan on running this season. great advise.

Say what?

I think he means he is going to run that series this season and that since not qualifying screwed you over so much that you in turn gave good advice for him to qualify.

Then again though I may be wrong.

**About being sick with fever**

Hope you get better soon Shinya.

I think the divisons are based on iRating since I've heard about people joining races and not running so to lose iRating for a lower division. Has your iRating gone up much since last year?

iRating, but I'm not sure on the exact cut off points for each division.

Well that race went alot better :D

Qualified on pole and then won by over 20s. ONly had one x1 just towards the end of the race.

iRating, but I'm not sure on the exact cut off points for each division.

Think it may be simple.

Say the number of people on iRacing is 5000.

500 people per division.
Top 500 go in D1
Next 500 in D2 and so on.
Any big gaps between last in one division and first in the other get polished out.

Or more complicated:

Use an average sample (Mode, Mean, etc.)
Say for this average is 1875 iRating.
Once average is got make groups based on iRating each going up in equal steps.

D10= <1000 iRating
D9= 1000-1250 iRating
D8= 1251-1500 iRating
D7= 1501-1750 iRating
D6= 1751-2000 iRating
D5= 2001-2250 iRating
D4= 2251-2500 iRating
D3= 2501-2750 iRating
D2= 2751-3000 iRating
D1= >3001 iRating
Pro= Pro License Drivers only. No matter what iRating they have.

Now I don't say either of these methods are correct in any way, but I suspect it would be one or the other.

The second one sounds pretty good and believable. :)

I'm 2508 irating and in Division 2. It's definitely to do with iRating because I haven't done many races since I bought iRacing and yet have moved up to Division 2.

Yes the divisions go off of irating. Matty is actually pretty close. If seems to vary each season some but just to give you a general idea in oval im at 3016 and Im in D2 and it seems for oval D1 starts around 3500 or so and in road Im 2208 and Im in D3. Not sure as much about the road side where D1 would start but I would imagine a little lower than oval since less people race road in compared to oval.

Qualifying is very important in MC racing. Especially when you are running the quickest class of the bunch. Those Jetta's starting from the back piss off the other classes.

I know I usually qualify but usally in the Jetta you can blast past on the straights easily but obviously you can't on LRP.

As I said in my previous post the next race I qualified on pole and then won by miles in my split.

They probably vary each year based on the average. And the gaps could be 330, 500 or some random number that works. I won't attempt to actually get it right though :lol:

They probably use median/mean for there average rather then mode. And also probably try to sort the Divisons inside the inter-quartile range. Leaving outliers in the highest/lowest split.

Division is determined by your iRating. I'm at 2800 and I'm Division 2 this season.

Running GT Challenge in the McLaren this season. Its pretty fun watching F3 and putting time on the Corvette behind you.

Sorry man, haven't touched the Vette in quite a while and I do miss it but work these days is pretty crazy no time for nothing...

Tell me about it, I get 2 days off a week and its hard to get some iracing in when theres so much stuff that needs to be done in those 2 days. I keep saying im gonna run a full schedule in the GT series but it has yet to happen lol.

Thats awesome Mac, you're getting up there! Im at 2100 something now, it was 2500+ but i made the mistake of jumping into races with no practice just because i missed racing. Hows the real life racing?

I know how you guys feel. Working 6 and 7 days a week here. Ya, sometimes don't get a day off for 20 some days.👎

That's one reason why I'm racing the V8 Supercar from here on out. Races are always Sunday and Monday early morning(4:15am and 6:15am), but it fits my schedule because I will never be at work at this time. I just lose some sleep. Plus, I love overweight, overpowered, under braked, and under tired cars. They're just so much fun to drive.👍

I did, somehow, get in a full 8 weeks in the Grand Am series last season. Believe I finished top ten in points somewhere. Now I've been bumped up to Division 1.:scared:

My 2races this season have not gone well.. 1st race get taken out 2nd race taken out with 2minutes to go :( my Sr has gone down to 2.29 C licence. Not good... So I'm tempted to run different cars in the seasons I'm running In the challenge series should I buy the C6 and. Should I buy the DP? Are they more enjoyable then the mclaren?

I remember when I was working 100 hours per week, raking in the big bucks. It's hard on the body and mind and it sucks not having time to spend with the loved ones. I am very lucky though, I worked 7 days a week, 12-16 hour days. I took 1-3 days off every month or two. I did this for the better part of 18 years. However, I retired at 45 :) now at 53 life is very good. I could use more dough though, but really it's no big deal not having huge stacks of it. :D I'm mortgage free, debt free for the most part.

If I could pass on a little advice for people, it would be, don't work your life away. Take time for the kids and wife and family and friends. One of the greatest joys I get now is volunteering, it is so cool seeing people get such happiness because I put in 2 or 3 hours to make their life a bit better. I know it sucks having to pay for the necessity's, just take that time for yourself and the people in your life that matter.
