On mine toe is measured in 16ths of an inch. -3/16ths is -4.7mm.

I believe it means how much closer the tires are at the front (-) or back (+) of the wheel.

In other news, 4 Oval cars and 4 Road cars away from the 20% discount.... :D

Well if it is in milimiters then it isn't huge, it still is quite a bit specially if negative is toe in when considering that normally you want toe out in the front... I know it isn't as bad as your typical GT5 setup, but still kind of crazy.

Negative is out, it specifically asks for "Toe-in"

On the legend we used to paint a stripe down the center of the tire and mark center with a scribe (or whatever the heck it was called...pointy object thing), and measure the distance from center to center on the back of the tires under the car and then measure the front.

Alright, then 3 mils is not huge but still a bit on the extreme side...
Wait! No 3 mils is not extreme at all!!!
:dunce:

Just did a race at Darlington in the Trucks and man that's a tough track.. But I kinda tamed it... :sly:

Won by over a second, only hit the wall once and it wasn't the exit of two :)

Got a x4 though in the big one due to netcode issue or something like that since it happened in T2 and got the inc. points in T3... :grumpy:

Will try and post a vid of me avoiding the big one if it doesn't record to laggy.

EDIT: Recorded it 4 times and each recording is in slow-mo until the incident and then skips it.

Am I correct in assuming first corner pile ups happen just as often in the D licence races as they do in Rookie? Started 3 races from 3rd/4th on the grid over the weekend and ended up getting cleaned out from behind on the first corner each time.

Basically, yes. If you can get into a highish split (say, above 2000) you'll probably see a difference, but otherwise you should probably assume that you're still surrounded by monkeys, drunkards, and 12 year olds with lead foot syndrome. :P

Yeah I'm struggling to get out of the middle splits as if I start in the pits I'm usually 20 seconds behind the leaders and if I start on the grid I get rammed/dive bombed by those behind.

At least I'm gaining experience on overtaking slower cars and having battles lower down the pack. Might end up with skillset more accustomed to mixed class racing after all this.

I think iracing need to revise their penalty system. They should add license demotion. Like say you leave the pits and hit someone, you should lose a license level. Divebombing should also be on the list along with coming back on track and hitting someone. Not all penalties need to be suspensions or nothing. Probably many more things that you could add to the list, but you get the idea.

I really think leaving pits or coming back on track and hitting someone should be automatic rookie demotion. If you are doing that kinda stuff you really didnt learn what you needed to in the rookie series so you should go back and try again.

Exactly! Glad I'm not the only one that feels this way :)

I find the pickup racing very good (much better than my GT5 pickup racing epxerience), but it only takes one jerk to ruin the race for many people.

At least one problem with iRAcing's lack of penalizing dumb moves is that some people game the system and act like "bully-boys" on the track. The wrecking does not appear intentional so iRacing ignores them.

One week in Mazda Cup there was one one guy across many races who was very aggressive and always bumping people out of the way, divebombing, wrecking others and the like. Several of us protested him over several days and iRacing stewards did not penalize him because they did not believe the actions were blatantly "intentional." The iracing stewards told us, the pilots who filed the protests, to stop protesting him or we would be penalized! grrrrrrrrr :grumpy:

I had one yesterday at USA international in the late model. Lots of banging doors ahead put me into 4th after passing an A class racer cleanly on the inside as he ran wide. He then did his best to pass me, I ran the normal line, giving him space if it looked like he was lunging but he couldn't get past, then 15 laps from the end he bumps me twice into the corner, I'm not gonna give him the position as we are racing, lap or 2 later he tries fish tailing me, he goes right down on to the apron so he can try it, I manage to counter steer through it bounced the grass and kept going, he gets alongside and just turns left into my car, very deliberately on the straight. Spun into te outside wall but managed to finish 6th while he retired.

Turns out he has over 200 oval starts but the arrogance of some people who believe its their right to get past because your close to each other is ridiculous. Sent him a message saying if he gives me a good reason as to why he did it I won't protest it.

There was a guy like that in the Proto/GT race last night. I was in the Vette. Got in front of him at the start and he rear ends me at the first hard braking zone, pushing me into the sand. He passes and 3rd place slips by as well. After a couple laps, I'm almost caught up with them, and the car he's battling ends up in the sand. I follow him for a few laps and he finally makes a mistake and I retake the lead. He tries several risky moves, divebombs, etc., so I just give him room and keep pushing. Then the Proto leaders are starting to come through, and I stay wide in a braking zone to let one pass and he pokes his nose in the hole and hits me. He did that twice.

I had a couple of offs near the end, but held on to 3rd. The bully ended up winning the race. And there's really nothing you could protest that wouldn't be called incidental by the stewards. His SR was at B 0.82 after the race, though, so hopefully he'll drop back down to C and be ineligible for the Proto/GT series. :)

Edit: Ashers. I see a lot of that attitude in the top split of the late models. "I'm faster than you so get out of my way." And then if you don't, they move you. I'm a very passive driver, so I usually just let them go instead of getting wrecked.

Seen that in the Fixed Trucks race last night, turn two after the big one a Class A driver thinks he's better due to the fact he's Class A wrecks the leader and gets through with no damage himself..

I eventually overtook him though as he made a few mistakes and came 6th. Will need to check the results but I believe his SrR was 1.1.

How are Indycar's fixed oval at Homestead?

I'm not sure I want to run Darlington as i can't seem to truly get the right driving style for it.

They feel fine but get slightly lose on exit after a while when the tires get hot. But try to keep near the front since 2 and 4 seem to bring the two lanes together with the looseness,

Heres my results from earlier, there seems to be a few cautions from what I stated above. The some guy tried to Takuma Sato me on the last lap but I passed him for Podium :)

Could to know, I've really taken a liking to IndyCar for some reason more than Class B/Gen6 cars.

My biggest issues is starting as soon as it kicks, it will send you for a ride of you don't ease into it.

I'm looking to race a different car than the Mazda MX5, so I thought the Mustang would be a good step up towards faster cars. Turns out it'll cost me over a 100 bucks if I want all the tracks they race on. Ouch.

I'll try to learn the Cadillac instead I think.

Yes, the sim is expensive but keep in mind it'll be cheaper when you move up from mustangs because you have most of the tracks already for whatever class it is, or at least some. In the end though, it depends on how much you really want it and how useful it is to you in the long run.

I find it best to start in 2nd in the Indycar, especially on ovals.

Well, I'm well off the pace in the McLaren at Sebring. About 7 tenths to be exact. Hopefully I can find an official race Monday morning (Sunday evening US Time) to do a race or two and get some points for this week.

Don't worry I do that but that boost that hits if your turned at all will get you. Iowa wasn't terrible but Charlotte always seemed to catch me a tad.

Homestead is a weird track where the second lane is the inside lane.. Well the people in my race thought it was anyway.

Should i get into oval racing anytime soon? I mean I kinda want to race oval becuase im a nascar fan. But it seems way too much money compared to the road side where I am.... should I start doing it?

I road first and didn't regret it. But keep your options open as you'll get the urge quite often to race NASCAR. When I got my Oval C I really started trying in it. Haven't looked back since.

Just starting to really push with the Skippy for th first time ever, fighting for the lead of a race and....

Punted in the back braking for a corner. :(

I always played NASCAR on the consoles way back and really enjoyed it. I always put Road racing first though, even after 2 years in the Service I still haven't raced an Oval. I have all the cars and tracks and I have done the ghost racing and held my own in those races.

As you stated though, "Haven't looked back since" I think if I went to the Ovals my Road racing would suffer. I can't do all the races that the younger guys do. I do look forward to the day I think I will be able to compete at my level in the Oval races.

I went oval only pretty much, the lower series like legends/late models weren't really all that fun for me. Once I got up to the C class trucks, I have enjoyed every moment. The good thing about some of these tracks is they carry a ton of different series too, I don't own all of them and only the ones I think look fun to drive but I also added as I could. I think I usually have 6-8 tracks per season to run.

Just did a Class B fixed race at Darlington...

With about 15 to go a guy wrecks ahead of me and the caution was called before I passed him. He makes no effort to come back and overtake me even though he only spun. I get black flagged when I pit :grumpy:

When I came out (to be lapped the first time) a caution was called and all the leaders passed me and I didn't get called back to the lead lap. Could that be cause I was still in pit lane even though I crossed the line ahead of them?

Yes. Road racing is fantastic but oval is something else. It's sometimes all too easy to see where iRacings roots come from. And thats no bad thing.
