Might I ask how exactly you get upgraded to a PRO license? I've never really looked into it before.

Finish Top 10 overall in the Grand Prix Series in either Season 1, 2 or 3. Season 4 is not counted.

And that sucks Ricardo, how come with only 2 incidents and 17 laps completed? A fault with iRacing or what...... Or maybe it's a test that Shannon setup for the new Pro Drivers

The enigine on the DP is strange. In the quali session before I could bounce the car off the rev limmiter, but in the race I wait before down shifting and the motor blows up   There was nothing aggressive about the downshift either.

Yeah I believe there is a bug with the DP. The worst is at daytona. You can downshift as fast as you want for turn 1 in pracatice, but get in the race and try the same thing and youll blow the motor by lap 5. I thought by now they would of fixed it, but begining to think its here to stay.

Anyone know a good time to race the Lotus?

1 race every 4 hours is quite annoying as well..

Anybody ever tried those splits that are scheduled in the forums that are supposed to have the most balanced car split and the most registered in the weekend? Wondering how difficult they are. Going to try the one at 5:30 GMT here coming up in just over 3 hours for the Proto & GT.

Only way is too finish races with no or very little incidents. Even just hang around at the back and don't really race anybody if you really need it

This works but is a bad idea if you race in a series with multiple splits. It will get your SR up but it will drop your iRating way down and then you will be stuck in a split with other racers who are reckless and will probably just drop your SR way down again.

If your SR is really low than that is probably where you belong in all honesty. Just race hard and clean and you should start seeing your SR go up and not hurt your iRating like the sandbagging tactic.

With that said if you generally race in a class that doesn't have many participants than the sandbagging method will work since iRating doesn't matter in those for determining the competition you will be racing against.

I've raced in a few of the skip barber races like that and got put into the high split. There are really fast guys in there. In the Skippy race most of the top racers were there. I didn't do well at all. Most everyone was almost 2 seconds faster than I was. I barely finished on the lead lap without having any wrecks. I'm a middle of the road driver though, before I stopped the last series I was leading division 5.

1st road race of my career and I snatched podium on the final corner :D

2nd didn't go so well. Ended with 12 incidents as I had a car turn into me on turn 1 and then coming out of that a car rejoined from off the track and T-boned me. Still, worked my way back up to 6th after pitting so can't really complain. Was running the same pace as the top 2 guys.

Nice one! ^

Just had a race in the fixed Proto and GT Challenge. There were 2-3 HPDs at the start who were slower than us Corvettes (there were only 3 of us mind) and they just got in the way. I know the gap between the HPD and Corvette at Okayama isn't as big as at other tracks because of the lack of high speed corners but it was ridiculous. Despite one guy having a 700 iRating, his best lap time wasn't that bad, it's just he was so inconsistent he was proving to be a hazard on the track, just like the other guys. :ouch:

Finished 4th and only 30 seconds behind the winner in the high SOF race. Okayama is extremely difficult but fun because of how traffic works at the track.

I love that track, but I can not master the last corner

What's your name on iRacing?

Wouldn't mind being friends with a pro ;)

It's on the topic with names :)

Thanks all, after a hard season it's always good to receive the license and to feel supported :)

It's normal for a PRO to lost like that I understood. Yeah, welcome to PRO lol. It's not a drama, today I recovered all SR I lost :)

It's so difficult. You feel like you can take it much faster than you really can. I always make sure that I slow down for the corner more than I feel is necessary. I'm not so fast at Okayama though so, I wouldn't listen to any instruction from me lol.

Lol, even after taking it countless times I still think I can take it faster. Fastest I come out of that corner is 71mph, my average lap time in the mx5 is 1:03 at that track.

Ohh my beloved HPD whackos!! One thing I do not miss from iRacing, they really need to restrict the HPD to higher iRated and licensed drivers, with steeper penalties on top!

@Shinya, the hot split SOF races are pretty much the best racing of the week, if I had to choose that's th one I'd go for!

What I have to deal with when recording a Hotlap...... Thanks Joey for the commentary on my lap, but I still think I could have done better!

Won my first race in the DP. Started 1st and finnished 1st leading all 36 laps :D

Also what car would you guys recommend in the Proto & GT challenge. Which car handles most like the DP?

Right now the best handling car in the service is the Ford GT, feels great, great FFB, real stable and predictable out of the 2 GT classes right now the Ford might be the most popular!

lol what.

Lol!! I was expecting that reaction from you! I know you liked it better on the old physics, but when you look at every poll on the forums it's regarded as the best driving car in the service every time.

That's still insane for me to believe lol. I'd like to know from Joey Hand (Pretty sure he's on iRacing), on what he thinks about it. He's probably the only guy on the service whose raced a lot of GT2 cars.

I liked the GT before they "fixed" it and I still like it now.. I need to start racing it more.

You know, I'd like to get Alvaro Parente's feedback on the McLaren too, he's one of the developement drivers for the 12C and he's a regular on the Grand Am series running the 12C.

Same here, offcourse you had to focus a lot more before and it was such a thin line between fast and wrecked... Now is a lot more manageable and consistent.

Never knew he was on the service. Remember his name from his many years in GP2. Very solid driver.

The thing I'd like to know about the McLaren is if they really use -3 toe in the front. I see that every time I load a baseline set a the beginning of every new week and cringe lol. It seems insane that the car and tires would work like that.
