When I did iRacing, the IndyCar was a great fun to drive and the IP2K and USF2000 were great cars to push around. On the short ovals, you can get good races in both cars if you get lucky with the people in your split and they're intense without getting too IRL-pack race style at places like Phoenix. So after testing the IndyCar during a test drive period, I decided I wanted to start working my way up to it. After testing out some of the Junior open wheel categories, I settled on the Indy Pro 2000 series. The series doesn’t have huge participation but on most week nights it has 1 to 2 races go official. Usually around 8pm and 10pm est. I’m in my 4th week of the season, and I absolutely love this car. Has the right balance between aero and mechanical grip, and has a nice manageable amount of power. Since I started iRacing a year and a half ago, this is by far my favorite car to drive after C class trucks.
The forums are the best place to go. For IndyCar, there's a good community of people prepared to help as long as you don't annoy them. If iRacing did a console game for IndyCar, I don't think I'd do anything else. Can't remember the names but there are some sites/apps that show the participation of iR Series so you can exactly see when the most people are racing series x/y.

BMW M Hybrid is coming to iRacing, very much looking forward to that
Not gonna lie, I kinda like the nostrils on this and the M4 GT3. But I can see why people wouldn’t.On one hand, this is cool as hell. On the other, we get the one with the nostrils. Hopefully we get an another LMDh to race against it at some point.
Maybe the Caddie as well since it’s on a Dallara chassis. Not gonna lie, I kinda like the nostrils on this and the M4 GT3. But I can see why people wouldn’t.
But yeah hopefully there’s more to come. IRacing has a good relationship with Porsche so there’s some hope. I’m interested to see how this compares to the LMP2.
I'm in the same boat, the GT3 has the bar in the middle which breaks up the grill and the prototype works better since it's more horizontal..Not gonna lie, I kinda like the nostrils on this and the M4 GT3. But I can see why people wouldn’t.
