Seriously, last week my wife says she wants to set up a space for me and my daughter to game. I’ve got a couple car seats I can use. Things are looking good.

Loaded up iRacing for the first time post-update. New UI is great, Much easier to customise the screenspace now and it's obviously looking a whole lot more modern. Would love to see a few more features (standings, mini map, proximity radar) down the line so I can ditch my Racelab subscription.

I've been racing GT4 almost exclusively for the last year, so I was very excited for the class overhaul. First few laps are quite dicey, not as bad as some people on Reddit made it out to be. The feeling is really good once the tyres are up to temp, while I still enjoyed how the cars felt previously, they did feel a little numb. Slides are easier to catch now, and throttle steering is a lot easier too. Only downside is the fixed setup for the Mercedes is a bit understeery but I've never really gelled with the fixed setups anyway. I think I'll skip

I haven't done much else, just some quick fiddling around, skipping Charlotte Roval this week as it seems like a recipe for disaster. Off to get the Mustang GT4 and Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez now!

They did a great job with the ui. It looks really good while having the same-ish layout that we’re already familiar with. The customization is also very nice.

I’ve been dabbling in just about every discipline this year. This season I’m going to focus on formula cars and try to get to 3k. I also want to do at least one race in the Formula A - Grand Prix Tour series but that will take a lot of preparation.

Yeah, Formula A will certainly be a challenge - there's a lot to think about at once, managing pit stop strategies while driving is enough for me! Hope you can find a competitive grid too, I hear it's not the most raced series.

Personally, I've been trying to do a bit more GT3 stuff this year. Though, I haven't put any thought into them since the physics update last season. I'll probably try and put more time into them when I have a little more free time though, it's hard for me to focus on more than one category.

The GP Tour races are only on weekends, and they only require a C safety rating, so there are usually a few lobbies whenever it's available. But they're full length 300km races, so that's a major challenge. The regular FA lobbies are dead, but those are super short races anyway.

I'm pretty much done with switching categories every week. I have no chance against the regulars, it's much better to focus on one or two cars. GT3 feels virtually the same to me as it did before the update, the big difference is the tires start out about 20 degrees cooler. Weaving and dragging the brakes on the formation lap is way more important now.

I only just got around to doing an actual race following the GT4 refresh. Holy hell, it was chaos. Seems like it may take some time for people to get used to reduced tyre and aero grip. Race start, coming onto Indy's main straight, the car ahead and alongside me span out. Two laps later, two of the cars ahead of me lost it in turn 4. It settled down a bit around me from there but, judging by the radio, many people were still struggling. To make things worse, it seems many of the LMP3 drivers are unaware just how much the grip has been reduced for GT4, so they're making moves which would have been fine previously but are now are very dicey. Still, it was a lot of fun and once everyone gets used to the overhauled physics, the racing will be even more enjoyable.

Edit: Ok. Had another go, this time top split as opposed to a single split race, so naturally a lot cleaner!

I wanted to try the GTP at Road Atlanta this weekend, but I have such a hard time using the 499 on cold tires. I think I’ll just end up causing a crash in the race. I do my normal tire warm up prep, and it’s still not enough. In the GT3s, I can get the temps a little over 50°C on the formation lap by doing this. In GTP, I can barely hit 40°C, it takes a good 4–5 laps for the tires to get to a half decent temperature. If this is how they are in real life, then that’s just kind of insane, lol. I think I’ll just stick with the 720 GT3.
