Hey, at least you don’t have to think about getting your road licenses to a similar iRating! There’s a 2k difference between my Formula and SportsCar licenses. 😆

There is an overwhelming amount of choice. PCC is great though, this week has been my first back in the series in about a year and a half and I kind of forgot about the intense lap long side-by-side battles you get with these slower cars.

The new FIA Cross Car looks like a lot of fun, as far as dirt content goes. Unfortunately, I’m not game enough to drive it with a GT wheel.
I was curious how they would handle that, think I was around 2100iR on road, class B I believe, may have been A. They've basically divided it up so I'm D in both Sports and Formula with 1395iR in each.

Had my first race online today since rejoining, GR86 Cup, had a great time. A good reminded of why iRacing is so popular, close, clean online racing.

Normally. I just had my first two intentional wrecking incidents, neither were provoked and one was in a higher class car! And of course I forgot to save the replay to report them. The Strength of Field was quite low, so I'm chalking it up to newbies who will probably ditch the game before the new year.

btw I was leading by a significant margin before the first incident. :(

It's a new season but it doesn't look like anything has really changed in terms of GT3 balance. FR cars (The Mustang in particular) are still the best. I think I'll switch to GTP whenever they fix the tires, hopefully within the next few weeks.

this sums up pretty much every medium/high strength of field lobby in imsa or any gt3 series, doesn't matter if it's open or fixed setup.

After having tried out the game at the beginning of this year and not getting too convinced, I decided to give it another go and it has now clicked for me!

Just got out of Rookie and have been racing the M2 and MX-5 events at Oschersleben

I'll try to make the most of it before having to bite the bullet and buy content, perhaps I could settle at IMSA and Porsche Cup events since they seem very popular

There’s nothing wrong with sticking to the free content, like Mazda’s are fun and the SoF can get pretty high depending on the track (especially back when Laguna Seca was free).

That said, I could do without ever driving Lédenon again.

Indeed I have found the Mazda Cup really fun to race, like I said I'm going to try to make the most out of it (the free content) until I wish to start racing other series

Had an absolutely amazing race last night in the advanced MX5 series at Okayama. Just a full half an hour where there were 4 of us battling for the podium. It was clean, respectful, but still hard racing, never more than 0.7 or 0.8 seconds between anyone at any given time. Incredibly intense and came home in 4th in the end but it was the kind of race that reminds you why you do it.

And there was none of this false racing element of people giving too much space to avoid incidents or whatever, genuine clean, hard racing.

I'm about to do some GT3 Fixed around Adelaide Street Circuit and I can almost guarantee that it will not be clean and respectful racing.

In real life there is a gentlemen’s agreement where the leading car heading into Adelaide’s Turn 8 gets right of way, it would be nice if iRacers could come to the same agreement.

I have done several GT3 races at Adelaide this week and all have been relatively clean.

Rare mid season update coming on Monday, likely the main content being the GTP tyre update ahead of the Daytona 24hr.

It does of course mean that demo drive will be active to try out any content you don't own. I'll definitely be jumping in to some GT3 and GTP cars, F4 and Super Formula for a quick go.

The Roar Before the 24 is coming up this weekend. I’m really tempted to redeem myself from last year, where my CPU **** the bed before I even got into qualifying. However, a heatwave and a lack of air conditioning in my gaming room mean a complete lack of practice.

Couple days late but here’s some highlights from the S2 2026 development update:

  • Grand Prix of St. Petersburg makes its iRacing debut.
  • Barber Motorsport Park has received a rescan/art update. No additional purchase if you already own the track.
  • NASCAR Ram Truck and Audi RS3 LMS Gen 2 will be added to the service.
  • The TCR class will receive a complete “ground-up overhaul”. Updates include new tyre and handling models, a physics overhaul, better technical accuracy and more.
  • GTE will receive an unexpected update. This includes a new tyre model and wet tyres.
  • The garage menu will receive an update to simplify the menu.
  • The Lotus 49 and IMSA Vintage class will also receive an update. This will add wet tyres and physics updates.
  • Further updates to the new UI, allowing users to create per-car profiles. iRacing have also added live brake and throttle chase to the speed/gear widget and more.
  • iRacing will add a “visual spotter”. They’re a bit light on details but it is not a radar.
  • “Expect to hear a lot more” about iRacing’s single player career mode in the next update.
Check the linked form post above for more details on the coming update.
