Gonna be in the nVidia cup a lot today, look out for Ashley Butler2 as thats me! Hope to see some of you guys out there.

Also, anyone think a thread that lists members from here and their real names so we know whos racing from GTP would be a good idea?

That's a fantastic idea you got there! Added you on iracing I'm Curtis Chippeway.

So since the rookie promotion date isn't till next Monday, I think I'm going to go for the 10 incident free races in a row award :)
I've already got 1.....just 9 more to go :P

Jav, noticed you in a GA session yesterday :)
Why did you not participate in the race?

It was a crazy battle, went from 15th to 3rd in the race 👍 +0.70 SR

Yeah, im not sure on what the rules of blocking down a straight are so I hope I wasn't breaking any rules but I was gonna defend to the death!

I might be doing a race today (I wanna practice a lot before I try)

JEFFREY HAFT

or JEFF HAFT, I forget if they have my full first name or not.

Explain?? How you blow your motor pace lap?

By being a dummy I think, shifted down to 1st gear at 35mph and that was it! Kablamo!!

Legendary
Got my SR up to 3.8 today and now its back to 3.48 after two bad races, im a bit annoyed .
Time for you to do some TT's!

I did! Just got in a different split than you, qualified 4th and got up to second before turn one. I was holding a gap of 2.5 seconds till I spun coming out of turn one and got collected by 3rd place on lap 7 as I was trying to roll off track to avoid the freight train.

I love this thread. You guys all remind me of me when I first got hooked on iRacing. I wish a lot more guys from here at GTP would give it a try. The online-only competition with big grids of cars and all the stats is just awesome.

Anyway, for you guys paying attention to your SR and asking about TTs etc, all official sessions count, no matter how many laps you do, but they have different weighting.
Time Trial (35%)
Qualifying (50%)
Race (100%)
Warmup before race (50%)
Unofficial race due to not enough cars (50%)

The SR is based on corners per incident (CPI) so the biggest opportunity to improve your SR is to drive in official races on a track with lots of corners. Don't mess up in the warmup before the race because that will count against you.

Sometimes it takes up to 30 mins to see the update.

Great job for all you guys clocking wins, what a cool feeling. Also feels good to finish well in a full field of cars when you have lots of good battles, even if you don't win. :)

Ah I thought I read somewhere official races count the most. I dont know whats been going on lately these noobs keep bumping me and causing me to lose SR. Hopefully this advance rookie will be much better. I'm just gonna keep doing TTs til I hit Advance rookie where people start caring about their SR. Too many ruthless noobs in the rookie levels with like 1.50 SR and lower. I dont wanna be on the track with those scrubs at all if possible

Scary thing is I think its normal for people to lose lots of SR in races. I've been looking at higher level racing results and all I see is minus. Very rarely do I see people getting positive SR. Even the podium finishers be like minus(-)

[edit] Eh just looked at a top tier event and everyone was +SR. It seems to vary a lot I guess.

While waiting for the next race I watch a few of the driving videos and one of them mentions its ok to hold a large line over the track to prevent movement around you but its a bad display of sportsmanship to block along the straight. However, I think its understandable if its the last two laps or so.

Yea I was too tired to type more what he did was pushing it in my eye but I'd shrug it off since it was only a rookie race.

@Rudi, I was referring to SR though. I'm a rookie so I cant see my iRating yet.

@Hampus, so jealous you get to drive a nice car like that 👍 Film looks nice

@Hampus, the guy you passed at 4:00-4:20 was pretty interesting. It seemed like he was trying to block you and when you came around the outside lane he almost tried to run you off road. Then later at 4:20 he almost goes off track.

Nice work 👍

Just had back to back wins for the first time since I started. Race 29 and 30. Didnt expect to win the last race though, high SoF but the 2 leaders both made costly errors to give me the win :)

Yea they all were trying to block me, but it´s racing, it´s legal :)
He could have driven me all the way to the right, just leaving one car width for me to have if he wanted :)

T1 at Indy is very special, usually all overtakes happen there so it opens up for some interesting tactics like the overtake i did after that one,
I go right on purpose, hoping he will try and stop me by moving over, then just a few meters before the braking zone i move left and brake as late as i can and barely takes the corner.
He braked at the same time but obviously out braked himself since his radius of taking the corner is way smaller and he´s coming in to hot.
I try to practice overtakes and other stuff every time, some people doesn´t fall for tricks like that but most do :)

Thanks Jav! Riley is a beast! Pure driver´s car.

Raced with Glenn1602 in the nVidia cup, good clean racer :)

shame the race ended sour, got blocked up into turn 1, locked my brakes and tapped the guy, not alot I could have done, though he was saying I should have had a different line or braked earlier, in all fairness he took to the brakes at the 3 board which is pretty early for that corner and he kept moving across to push me off the track. Completely 50/50 in my eyes.

Likewise you! :) Always gave plenty of space, and your quick too!

That first corner incident almost seemed more his fault than yours if I'm honest. He was moving across you in the braking zone and left you nowhere to go.

I had plenty of time to watch it since I binned it around lap 10 or so :yuck:

Played four races in NVIDIA Cup last night and the last one was a win from pole position. I was so excited to get .64 SR from the race(I just signed up Sat. so trying to build up SR).

I'm loving iRacing. Just sucks though playing on a 15 in. moniter(Alienware m15x laptop). I'm used to GT5 on the 60 in. screen.
