Just had a go making my first skin for the Star Mazda. I think it turned out alright :).

What does everyone else think?

Looks nice! Is there any good tutorials arround on how to make skins?
 
Hello iRacers! Looking for a little help. I'm very new to iRacing, joined yesterday, but keep getting a 'Could Not Connect To Server' message.
I have no idea how I'm supposed to participate in any races if all I get is error messages :(
I've looked at their FAQ's for help, but funny enough they never list things like faults in their software :p Don't get me wrong, I'm not having a dig, I really want to get up and racing :)
 
Maybe you should contact iRacing? They usually don't give you BS emails back. There workers are extremely helpful. Otherwise I've never had that problem reoccur. I've had it happen but then the second try joining it worked no problem. Also do you have a wireless internet? I used to have wireless, that was the only time I ever had the fail to join deal. I'd just email there technical assistance people and try and get some answers.

All though strange thing happened last night. I was trying to join a MX5 race to show my friend what iRacing was like (decided on the mx5's since they are slow and are easy to drive and they wouldn't kill my SR lol). Weird thing was that right before I should have been able to join iRacing had a "staging" clock count down from 1 minute to 0 seconds about 10 times. Then I just gave up. It was really strange.

Would anybody be kind enough to tell me whose fault this is? I find it complete BS. My SR went heavily down since i'm a A license. I am Shinya Michimi in the lobby. It happened on the second lap.

you should record the vid and upload it to zshare or something. Eric squeezed you hard, and it looked like you turned over to the left slightly after he squeezed you. That isnt safe driving, but I'm not sure i'd penalize him since you could've stayed over to the right. I've been taken out like that before. just try to avoid letting people get that position on you where they can P.I.T, you :p

I only watched it once so I'm not sure if it was a bump that made you go over to the left a bit or if you were trying to get a little bit more onto the race line. Just pretend everyone is trying to kill youuu!

I must have hit a bump. Because I did not move my steering wheel a bit. But either way WTH was he doing being that aggressive running that close to me? It was for last place.

On another note... sorry about saying this. But I will have to drop out of the Formula 1 series that we are beginning to start up. I have just been invited to Japan to do some testing and I will probably not be able to take any of my sim racing equipment with me.

I just joined yesterday too. Are you trying to boot the game up before you get on the iracing website, or are you trying to get it running from the folder you downloaded?

I have to be logged in to the website and get in the game from there, if I try to do it from the applications folder I get a can't connect message also.

^This^, it only works from the members area of their website. ;)

I had a bad day yesterday on iRacing, out of 3 sessions I joined I didn't get one race where I wasn't taken out. 1st race at the start I was shunted off at turn 1 and ended up in the tyre wall ending my race before it even started, the 2nd race someone dive bombed down the inside of me causing me to spin out into a wall and the 3rd race I was taken out after someone slammed into my rear end wrecking my rear suspension. The last one was only an accident though, the person who hit me spun out in front of me after touching a curb, hit a wall and bounced back into me as I was going pass. I ended up losing a lot of SR because of this but I guess you get days like that though.

I'm trying to enter any race event from the website, with no luck whatsoever. I've contacted their support team but wont get an answer until monday.

yea on the first page (press room) there should be a sentence saying "you are ready to race" or "you can not race until a update is downloaded"

something along those lines

I'd be interested. Just depends on day and time. Just recently bought the Mustang and absolutely love wrestling that beast around the track.

The pack racing on daytona is crazy fun! Trying to raise my SR high enough to fast track to C so I can buy minimal amount of shortie short tracks :D. I'd totally be down to run that I would probably be in the Corvette what track were you thinking of? Personally I'd like Watkins Glen or Silverstone since I have super limited experience of that track and I want to learn it!
 
I've been eyeing this over every now and then for the past year and am starting to think it might be the business, whats the FPS limit?
Are you able to reset/center a wheel and see an on-screen indication of this in the setup screen?
I have a wheel controller that should work well (after I install pressure triggers onto it) but the wheel has a bug when working on PC and it always wants to go left unless you can mess with it in setup.

yep, it's ready to race got the 'Your iRacing Simulation is Up-To-Date'. I don't know what the problem is. I've allowed all the exe's through firewall. it's up to date. I just don't get and it's really got me down :(
