Rudi Raser
so, you are on the way. 👍

and i know who i am. maybe better just listen to the tips. ;)

Hah, if only they were tips and not straight out criticism.

Now with this week 13, how are the three tracks working in the Mazda series. Are they rotating after a few days or after each race?

Edit: Statistics mean nothing about what goes on now, only in the past.

It will be one track per day:

27/7 - Charlotte Road
28/7 - Okayama Full
29/7 - Summit Point Raceway
30/7 - Jefferson Reverse (Summit)
31/7 - Okayama Short
01/08 - Laguna Seca

Is it gonna be like that for every series?
Seems like a lot of fun, but it's gonna be an SR killer with all those rookies changing tracks every day!

Week 13
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer . . . and Week 13. Right smack-dab between Seasons Two and Three, Week 13 offers seven fun-filled days of sim racing with no worries about series points, iRatings or safety ratings. Or, if you prefer, Week 13 can be your springboard to a higher level of competition in Season Three, one last chance to bring those Class D, C and B licenses up a notch. But no matter how you look at it, Week 13 gives everyone a chance to sample some of the sensational new content coming with iRacing 2.0.

The two official series in Week 13 are continuations of the rookie road racing and oval series, the Mazda Cup and the Street Stock Challenge. The Mazda Cup features MX5s and Roadsters at Lime Rock, Summit Point and Okayama, while the Street Stock Challenge runs at Thompson, South Boston, Lanier National, Oxford Plains and Charlotte Motor Speedway (Oval and Legends Oval).

The Mazda Cup and Street Stock Challenge are official series, so Safety Ratings and iRatings apply and competitors have a final chance to increase their license ratings before the official license promotions for Season Two are finalized at weekÂ’s end. Likewise, rookies who have yet to complete the category-specific minimum participation requirements for graduation to a D license (two official races or four time trials in each category) have one last chance to do so in Week 13.

Strictly for fun, we’re bringing back the iRacing.com Gymkhana Challenge, a single car, single lap competition at Virginia International Raceway’s Patriot course (reverse). There’ll be three classes – Legends, MX5s and SpecRacer Fords-- and the champion of each class takes home 50 iRacing credits along with their title. Also back by popular demand are the Carburetor Cup and Formula Fun, the fixed setup series that give everyone a chance to sample iRacing’s fastest cars – the Impala Class A (at Talladega Superspeedway) and the Williams-Toyota FW31 (at Circuit Park Zandvoort).

Last but certainly not least, once the new build is released we'll have two very different 24 Hours of Fun series, including a mixed class road racing series chock full of new content including the HPD ARX 01C, Ford GT-R and the Suzuka Circuit and, for those who prefer turning left, the Chevy Silverado at our newest oval, Iowa Speedway.

Serious or fun, some or lots of each, Week 13 is the perfect excuse to play hookie from all those picnics, cookouts and swimming parties and get down to what those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer are really all about: sim racing.

.....

It sounds like a fun week but with these tracks I've never raced on it could be an interesting week, can't wait to get home and try it out :).

Im looking forward to racing Laguna in the Mazdas, will be interesting as they only normally race on 2 tracks.

Also, as I hate the Legends I will be happy to boost my oval SR driving a car I can keep on the road!

Before Okiyama was released, the Mazda iRacing cup used to race on Lime Rock and Laguna Seca, but it was decided that Laguna was not 'rookie friendly'. I can't wait to get in the Street Stocks either. The Legends end up just being crash-fests...

@Legendary, Summit Point is not a hard circuit, but the tricky bit is trying to eek out the last few tenths.

Oh, so we are all eligible street stock drivers? Thank god! I also hate the legends cars and tiny tracks, this week is a godsend :).

Edit: So which of the ovals are the big ones? I want to race street stock on the big ovals and mazdas on the other days, that way I get the best of both worlds.

I think its just the small ovals still in the Street Stocks, but they are still infinitely easier to drive. They may be doing 1 day on Charlotte in them, but the top speed is only 110mph so I dunno how well they will work on big ovals.

Yup I just checked, Saturday is Charlotte 20 laps.
I'm staying home on Thursday because I'm unwell and there is an athletics carnival. They are running Summit point with Mazda's on that day, I'll see how I go .

I love Summit Point, only driven tests on it but its great fun! Another one to look forward to. Should be a great week! :D And hopefully my last in D class.

Yeah, I can't wait to drive the v8's, which are the reason I bought the game. It's going to be a whole new challenge and I'll really have to pull my head in if I want any chance.

Man I'm extremely dissapointed with the V8s, they are just too heavy and slow!!

did I ever tell you guys I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!! I just wish they had the dodge viper in this game.

*and thank you to all the people that posted their favorite tracks

Yeah they do feel that way. But they are very fast in a straight line and the racing is superb when you race top split (Monday nights AUS time).

Well atleast they got the realism right! The real V8's weigh something like 1600kg but do have 600-odd hp to thunder around with.

Taken from iRacing car info page:

Min Weight: 1355kg (which is a really heavy race car!)
Power: 635hp (5.0L)
Top Speed: 306km/h

Really they are way too powerful for their tyres.... and don't handle due to their weight.

None the less, managed to pick up the series win last night! Absolutely over the moon with that!

Vern Norrgard
DOWN THE CHAMPION

Madison Down had an almost untouchable lead on the championship before the final race in Season 2 of the 2011 iRacing V8 Supercars Series, but was it enough to hold off Mitchell McLeodÂ’s late season charge?

WOOHOO!!! YEAHH!!! CONGRATULATIONS MAD!!! EXELLENT JOB!!!
That's it, from now on I'm calling you Mad Skills Madison!!

On a different note, what's up? No racing anywhere tonight??
What's up with that!!?

Looks like it just keeps trying to make me want to get it more and more...lol

The LMP2/GT1/GT2 racing looks like it'll be huge fun and should attract some pretty big grids.

Anyone else see the new trailer for the new content? It looks epic!

It really looks amazing man!

You!! Give up and give in already!! Stop looking for excuses not to buy a wheel and do your driving skills a favor, get a wheel!!

So you can earn iRacing Credit in any race? Or is it just championship races? I really want to use the MX-5 Cup Car, but are there any championships for it? I also don't have this or a wheel yet. Though I think those will change by the end of this week. I have to take advantage of the 3 Months for a Price of 1 Month. Just to, try it out you know? :)

To earn iRacing credit you must do 8 weeks out of 12 in an official series. I'm not sure if the rookie series counts towards that but most series' do.

You'd be better off racing the MX-5 Roadster too cause it's faster. 👍

3 Months for the price of one is what I signed up with almost exactly a year ago and I agree, it's one of the best deals out no question.
