Yeah, i would be up for a 24hr race, would be exciting! Just count disconnects as mechanical failure and 10 minute garage repair (penalty) and the next driver continues.

I would love to do that! But i dont want to sabotage the team with this horrid internet connection. Good news is the university is having a major WiFi network upgrade. but they havent said when. They just said technicians will enter dorms unanounced lolol.

Count me in. I'm not the fastest, but I am reliable. :)

Sweet! I know iRacing won't do an official 24 or 12hr event till they get the day/night transitions up and running but you can be pretty sure there will be hosted evnts! Hell, I'd even do an event myself if needed!

I am so sad guys...been trying really hard and finally got the times i wanted on mid ohio, so i went into the race, turn 1 some class c guy bumps me. ruins my whole race and looking at the lap times i could of come top 3.

point is, turn 1 everyone was going REALLY slow and i was actually very happy thinking this is going to be a great race..what a joke..

i filed protest, hope he gets banned...don't feel like racing for a while..kind of really set back by this. this isnt the "clean" racing I was hoping for.

^He did it by accident, 🤬 happens during racing, I don't thing he should get banned for it. I do understand your frustration though, it really hurts when you had a large chance of a victory and some guy screws it up.

I'd be down for some 24 Hour Racing once they get it up. As long as I get to race GT Cars! ;)

I understand you willy. I was racing the Miatas with some fast guys and an idiot bumped me in the third lap and made me spin and crash ruining my race. He didn't even try to brake. Turns out he was very, very fast and finished first, with 10 seconds of advantage to the 2nd place without getting any positions from incidents. He was very fast, but a douchebag, because he was always trying to make other people crash.

And I have an interest if you guys are planning to race on an endurance. I'm not very very fast but I can at least keep on the track hahaa

Don't get discouraged by it. Yes it happens but there's always a leason to be learned from it. I've been on the same place you are right now, just go at it again and be more careful don't defend too hard, be careful of divebombs, if you notice an overagressive driver let him go odds are you'll pass him on the closing stages of the race and if you don't he was just plain faster than you.
Last night on the GT/Proto race on Road America I was leading and the guy in second had slowly closed the gap to me, he was very clean and respectful on his racing. Finally he made his move in the front straight when he was clear he moved to the inside and in front of me. Now his braking spot for T1 was earlier than mine and unfourtunately I tapped him on the brakes after I locked up trying not to hit him. At the moment I was trying not to loose ground on him, looking back on the incident I should've anticipated and braked way earlier than I did. I felt like crap for the rest of the race and the win didn't even feel right.
Point is we all make mistakes and we need to learn from them. Don't get discouraged by it, incidents and accidents will always be a part of racing yes we all get frustrated by them, sometimes worse. But we all come back to it because we love it!
Does IRacing have different tire compounds on some of the higher spec cars?

Not at the moment Blaze, you'll have enough fun factoring fuel load on your strategy!

If you ever get a 24h hour race team going, count me in. It's something I've always wanted to do. :D

I'm sorry to hear about your bad luck, but occasionally this happens. Protesting an incident like this won't do any good. Only protests for deliberate bad driving gets punished (crashing into another car on purpose). Don't be so discouraged; there's a race every two hours you know. :)

Shake it off man! I've been hit or taken out in every one of the 5 races I've done this season. It's funny, I've only been hit maybe 5 times in the 40+ races I did last year, but I guess I've come across some bad luck. Every time I got hit the other person apologized and admitted fault, I'm really sick of it, but I know that statistically its going to get better. LOL!

Stick to it, half the fun of racing is the unknown of what's going to happen.

Cheers!

Yeah I've been frustrated after getting bounced out the race, etc. I remember being extra annoyed during a fixed race at Okayama in the HPD when this faster HPD comes by to pass me, loses control even though I gave him tons of room, and spins into me damaging my tire alignment (steering was a mess). Was extra frustrated when this same guy comes back alter to pass me up. He was just plain faster. Sloppier by far but faster.

It's not fair; just gotta toss it to the game and keep rolling! :dopey:

YAY!!

2nd race and I get taken out in turn 3. That is a big improvement to getting taken out in turn 1.

To the new players in iracing, don't do the skip series. Honestly a SR death trap and most of the time not your fault. For some reason people think they are invincible in the Skip more than anything else - why is that? I even find the MX5 rookie series more safe than the Skippy series. This is insane....I shouldn't be forced to start from the pits because other people can't drive safetly.

I am kind of over this to be honest...Going to give it a few more tries this weekend, if no luck and I can't finish a race thanks to other people, I am going to try another series.

Skippy = joke of a series.

End rant.

It's crazy how different people have different experiences in each of the series. I don't think I was taken out once all last season in the skippy..

After Skippy they will get much harder (multi-class anyone?), much longer, more noobery (much bigger grids sometimes you wont even get to T1 + no splits many times so noobs and pro drive side-by-side), and even less forgiving (no full repair, etc)

make sure there wasn't something you could do to avoid the wrecks. I try to save mine off when I have the presence of mind and discuss things with the other drivers where applicable. It is always interesting to hear their angle as well.

Sure, they will clearly be in the wrong- if this was a fault system. But it's no-fault. So it is important to discover the situations that perhaps lead up to the "event"

Anyway you can fast track past it and get up to Class C. But chances are the samethings will happen and that iRating may descend even faster cause in Class C+ there is no full repair and they deduct bigtime for T1 wrecks. At least in Class D and below you can repair and stabilize your iRating.

edit- Note, I did fast track past Skippy tho cause it was too much for me too and I couldn't stand the Mustang (even tho I love them in real life I owned 2). I just took the hit to my SR and iRating bigtime when I jumped into Grand Am Rolex.

I'll be watching! Good luck guys!

By the way, I might have you update my livery sometime. They released a template that will be required to use as of next season, and it has the CESCS version of the Continental Tire logo. I'll see if I can't do it myself first though. Of all things, I should be able to figure out how to move/replace a layer.

No problem! Just send it over and I'll get done for you!

I finally got my Class D license in a very nice race at Okuyama Short. At the beginning of the race I got a position from a spinning MX-5. A few laps later I found myself trying to catch a fast MX-5 and trying to lose an SRF and a MX-5. The MX-5 in front ran out of fuel and the other two behind me had vanished from my mirrors. Everything pointed that the end of the race would be calm, but suddenly, on lap 20, a Solstice started to get closer. He was quite fast and was closing the distance between me and him very fast. On the second to last lap, he tried to overtake me on the braking of the second corner. I managed to stop his maneuver, but got a 0x contact penalty for a very light touch he gave me. On the last lap ,on Okuyama Short's double hairpin, he overtook me, but I kept right behind him. He braked too late for the last corner and went wide putting 2 wheels on gravel. I saw the opportunity and overtook him, on the final straight.

Now I'm looking forward to D Class racing, especially the Skip Barber and Grand Touring series. I would like an opinion on which tracks to buy to race through D License.

Well that was disappointing. Held 1st for quite a while, made my pitstop, came back out and got back within the first three cars. Held there for another 15+ laps, and then had a hardware failure. GPU keeps having issues keeping the fan speed at 100%. Finished 14th. Jason finished 15th.

Ok i just spent my first 45 minutes on this game and.... im speechless this is SO worth the money om my gosh best game ever. That is all

congrats on joining our little iracing community here at gtplanet! im just like you i started just this month, just got to c class (im a fiend i love iracing so much) it amazes me the amount of tenses races i have had. i know not everyone has had the same experience as I, but I have only been taken out a few times, and when i did it was my fault for trying to pass in the wrong place

Come on, you skipped the Skip? i don't think the other series is that much easier??

Haha awesome crush. I told you it was good :)

Question - is there a way not to get a C Class? I actually don't want to go there haha...
