Release notes:
Street Stock

- Improved the NTM tire.

- Updated the USA and Charlotte setups.

This should be seriously interesting along with the ctsvr and I'm curious as to how the GT changed

I had to download an update for the Solstice, but it doesn't say anything on the release notes about it. Does anyone know what has changed?

Did some practice with the IndyCar on Brands Hatch last night, I really liked this combo. The fixed setup for this track is way better than Watkins' although it seems to be quite slow compared to the open setups. I was turning 1:14 low with it while the quick drivers were doing 1:12.

But I'll keep running with the fixed setups because starting next week I'll be racing on a championship that uses these setups so I want to get used to them.

I don't get the Caddy. It seems really hard to get the back out under power, but off throttle it gets massive oversteer. It feels scarily similar to the Skippy, which doesn't mesh in any way with what I know about the car. The only thing I can imagine is that it has completely wacky diff settings which are making it behave like that.

I can see why a race team would want the car set up like that, but I'm buggered if I can see how they've physically got a heavy long wheelbase front-engined car to respond like that.

Not been around for the past week, so apologies if this has already been discussed.

I've just seen that iRacing our finally giving us a BTC. It looks like its the new NGTC Honda Civic! A nice, decent FWD car!

Now, add the SC430 and the GT-R and we're done!

Yeah! That's always been my rant with iRacing, but in all honesty the quality of racing and the overall product more than makes up for limited somewhat selection of cars.

Hard to get excited when one realizes it takes them forever to add a new car. Theyve announced all these new cars and havent added anything since the caddy

I love the homda hsv too

I'm with you there, at least we have the consolation of knowing the cars will be the best of the best. The Caddy came out fairly quickly so the potential for them to produce new cars every season is there, let's wait and see!

That HSV-10 sounds so awesome. What's in that thing? It sounds like a freaking F1 car.:dopey:
Not quite sure if it is the V-10 engine that was to be on the production car or the IRL/HPD V8 engine.

This is true, and I bet the Caddy was only released quickly due to the 'agreement' between the two companies. Hopefully, iRacing have gone down a similar route with Honda as these are 2 new race cars.

My guess will be when these two cars are released into the perspective seasons, which will probably be 2013 now.

I can see a couple of future GTP leagues featuring these two cars already!

Can you say Intercontinental GT Championship?? ;-)
All we need now is that BMW DTM car!

Great news, when iRacing continues like that it will undoubtetly stay the best motorsport simulation (its not a game in my eyes) on the market for a long, long time!

All thats missing from my perspective, Nurburgring + Nordschleife (i know it would take a century to scan) & a Porsche GT3 Cup (997) or a Porsche GT3 MR or R. (but i know licencing issues are there)

Chris

100% with you! Hopefully the Ruf we are getting will be restricted to a Spec similar to that of the GT3 Cup cars...

Aaahh, the Nordscheife would be awesome. No doubt it would be a monumental task to laser scan. With normal circuits being $11.95-$14.95, I'd be willing to pay $100-150 for the Nordscheife. I would think that's a reasonable price considering the size of the Nordscheife. GT5's version is done well, but a iRacing version would be all kinds of awesome.

You know, I like the fact iRacing is adding more cars, but at the same time its like some sort of evil. We're already spread thin across some of the series. I'd like to run a few other cars I have, but can't because of low participation. Not possible for me to make the official races. This is why I wish instead of adding series, they would add one or two cars here and there in existing series. Have a choice like the Riley DP, or the the Corvette DP.<<<this would be awesome to drive.:dopey: Sure there would be some performance differences, but that would make the racing fun also.

Hopefully membership numbers will keep going up and low participation will become less of an issue in the future. There's still lots of sim racers out there that can't get over the price of iRacing though. All I can say to that is you're missing out.

Amen! The performance thing is not much of an issue, the Enduracers guys make it work on their mod for rFactor so iRacing shouldn't have much of a problem doing it. They should start with the Corvette and bring it down to GT2/E specs. Bring in a couple more series like DTM and maybe some other Formula car in between the Star Mazda and Indy Car and focus then on expanding the existing classes.
We already have almost all of the desirable classes out there F1/Indy/Star Mazda/GT1/GT2-E/GT3-GT300/GT500/V8 SuperCars/SkipBarber/DP/WC-GT/BTCC/Mustang Cup/Jetta Cup/Mazda Cup/Solstice/Spec Ford/Radical SR8/Porche-Ruf Cup. Yeah, only one missing now is DTM! It is time now to expand on those existing classes!

Funny enough, I was going to post about the Nordschleife price, thinking that 50$+ would be a fair price, considering the track is 5-6-7 times a regular track. Including the GP circuit even 8 times the length of an average track.

Even spending 100$ would seem much, but the awesomeness of all the bumps and jumps and the carussell ... epicness would be undiscribable!

Perhaps if a poll at iRacing forums would be started, how much customers would pay for the ring, who knows, maybe iRacing would then consider doing the job...

There are so many Ring versions out there, GT5 being a really great one! but laser scanned Nordschleife... do I need to say more?!

Chris

I think $75-$100 would be good for the Nordscheife. I was rethinking it and a $150 is a bit much. But if it came down to it and it was $150, I'd pay it.:)

A poll in the iRacing forum is a good idea. I don't realistically see the Nordscheife coming to iRacing, but I also never seen a RUF coming so.......

You know, last year on season 3 I was on a GT/Proto race with 3 staff members at MidOhio and after the race ended some of us stayed and chatted with one of them. It came up that Porsche has been in the to-do list since the begining and so has the Ring. He even went to say how some of the staff guys would send pictures of different Porsches daily to their boss and that their European office is 30 minutes away from the Nurburgring, they really want the track to be on the sim but as we all know it will take some time but no more than it took PD to do their own... It's not too far off to say we will see it in the future.

Regarding a Nürburgring price, what if they left out nordschleife (spelling?) and priced it at $14.95 and then added Nordschliefe (spelling again?) for a seperate $14.95?

Also, what's the list of new cars coming now down to? MP4-12C GT3, Ruf RT12, Honda HSV, I know I'm missing a few. That's a lot! ("not a complaint, just an observation")

That would actually make a lot of sense!
You're missing the Civic Touring Car, Old Lotus and I'm pretty sure there's another one coming.
