iRacing calls the skippy the F2000 as in Formula 2000 and I have seen some people call it the SBF2000 (skip barber formula 2000). I do not know what the car is called in real life.

for some reason I'm getting a 404 not found error, like they took the servers offline

edit: NVM

Anybody having success in the new Mustang? I'm using an OTM setup and to add to the difficulty, it's at Okayama

I finally broke into the 45's then I check the practice lap times now people are turning mid 44's. :ouch: Im liking the new tire model alot though. Now Im not getting passed by people sliding around the track. Was fun the first few days watching them guys go sliding by only to go passed them crashed out 2 turns later. :)

That's Me!:lol::lol::lol: I keep driving it like the OTM
I joined a hosted session, Legends at Infineon, what a joke! I nailed the wall twice and then blew up the motor trying to burn fuel in the pits

Ive just been running the baseline setup with soft rear arb. Seems to be a pretty good setup. I tried some of my old setups and didnt like any of them. Although some say there old setups are working great. Cant see how with the new tire psi as high as it is.

Ok I'll give that a try on sunday, thanks, I had to modify my old setup for it to be high enough

Soften the front ARB on the Mustang. I think its set to firm on the baseline. Rear ARB is a personal preference sort of thing. The general consensus with the Mustang is that setup mostly only affect long, steady state turns. The rest, you need to handle with brake and throttle to get a little rotation.

A little off topic but at the new Le May Car Museum debut in Tacoma they have 3 CXC Sim Rigs that have a bunch of piston things (they look like pneumatic cylinders but I don't think they are pneumatic), they had 3 separate lines, HPD @ lime rock, Indy car @ Indy, and Cup car @ Daytona (old). I just got in line with a friend who picked the Stock car and I was Blown Away! by the seat pushing me around and the level of FFB, it was just amazing! it had triple 42 inch screens! The downside is it costs $45,000 and it comes fully assembled (no other way). with $45,000 you could buy a legend and run about 4-5 full year seasons:drool:

Sounds like you had a blast Aaron, did you get any photo's? At 45,000 I think you are right in buying a Legend instead. :)

Yeah that sounds like a cool setup, but for that price like you said, you could buy a real car and race a couple years. I've seen them a couple times online before and always thought that. I guess if you have the money like that to burn, but it's too much for me. Don't know why they had the HPD at lime rock that's like the worst track for that car

I'm not 100% sure it was the HPD, but it was open cockpit and had fenders with louvers in them, so I assumed HPD, I have a few pics but not of the iracing setups, my phone unfortunately died before I made it in the museum

It could have been the radical then. That would make more sense. It has the same kinda look with the fenders so from a distance could have looked the same.

You're Probably right

Also regarding the mustang, I tried softening the Front ARB, that seemed to have helped, thanks. The biggest problem now is that when I do get sideways, it's almost impossible to save it. Do you guys prefer soft or no ARB

Finally got my first iRacing win in the Street Stocks at Charlotte, got from 5th to first in 5 laps then ran the white line for the final 15 with 4 cars on my bumper. Awesome feeling crossing the line! 👍

Well, that's wrong. Formula 2000 is the supplemental series for what I raced back in the 90's and early 00's which was Formula Continental.

"F2000" can probably be as vague as Formula 3 has been - i.e. Formula 3 cars come in all sorts of shapes and sizes due to the different regulations over the years and the different chassis manufacturers.

I'd presume the Skip Barbers are F2000-spec cars not specifically F2000 cars in a literal sense.

Just got the Skip today actually with referral cash; after putting a few laps in around Lime Rock it feels fairly nice and intuitive to drive. You really have to work that steering wheel.

Well its that special time that only happens once a year. The track is being setup at Cicuit De La Sarthe again... I am not an iRacing member yet but someone who is: tell them its time to get those expensive Laser scanners out of the closet and use them already!!!

Boys...I AM BACK!

anyone throw me a nutshell what I have missed over the past month please...

Mustang and V8 got NTM, there have been a few minor setup adjustment updates for most cars, Twin Ring Motegi and New Smyrna are for sale with updated graphics, that's about all I can remember

Depends how much oversteer you like/need. With only three settings, you should just try them and see how it feels to you.

Two new Honda's announced: HSV-010 and the BTCC Civic. Not sure if you were around for that. Tsukuba as well.

thats neat. Skip at high elevation changes..ooo....

Where did you go?

I have been busy at work over past month so had no iRacing at all. I have a 2 month space to play non stop. Will race the skip and see if I lost anything.

:D good to be back anyway. So many new faces here?

Left, this was the best pic I had before my phone died at le may, it died before I got to the sims
