Congrats on your GT Academy time Red, keep up the fast pace and you should be a shoe in for the National Finals. The Finals and Silverstone were some of the neatest experiences I've ever had. Best of luck!!

Eric.I wonder how hot the Street Stock can run? The whole front field had a pileup and I had minor front end damage, but got around all the wrecked cars in third place. A couple laps later I noticed water temps at 260F...Nobody close to me on the same lap so I'd go a lap at full throttle then lift for about five seconds twice on the next lap, it'd drop about 20 degrees from that.
Guess I broke the radiator.
superbike81In Street Stock races I fall back to the back at the start and enjoy the carnage. I did that last night and finished 5th. Did that in a B-class oval race and finished 7th on the fixed setup while everyone else was running open. I'm not the fastest, but I'm good at keeping myself out of trouble and I'm consistent. I don't even practice oval races and my iRating is almost 400pts higher than my road iRating. That makes me sad thougheither I'm naturally a little better at oval racing, or it really is as easy as oval haters say it is. LOL!
Ovals are easier but some people are naturally better at different styles. I have issues with road because I can't always see where to brake or blind corners. Ovals are easier to see and hit marks lap after lap.
I was thinking about the 2.4 of Daytona vs real race. When will iracing actually get more GT based cars to compete in those series? It might bring some more drivers to it with Porsche, Chevy and possibly Ferrari.
Eric. The problem is that as soon as the Porsche is a tenth faster than the Corvette or whatever, everyone will drive that car. There's nothing iRacing can do on a per-race basis like adding success ballast or whatever.
So Guys I'm now D-Class for Road and hope to be D-Class for Oval soon.
So I was thing of buying some content, any suggestions?
If you don't like the Mustang, you're unlikely to find the V8 very enjoyable. Although I guess it depends what it is exactly that you dislike about the Mustang. They're different, but they are fairly similar cars. I'd compare the V8 more to the Caddy probably, although the V8 is a much more raw experience. How do you feel about the Caddy and the other GT type cars?
Me, I think the feeling of actually completing a race cleanly in the V8 is the best thing in the world. It's a pig of a car that's backwards in all sorts of ways, but driven right it is QUICK. And it requires real skill and patience to drive it well. There are certain places where you need to drive it completely differently than any other car, Mustang and Caddy included. It really rewards the driver. That, and the V8 races are some of the best and cleanest on the service.

Buy content based on what series you want to drive in.

1 bad race and you are thinking about going out and rear ending people? Really?
Okay about the 2 feet magic save move! I really could care less that it exists. But what pisses me off MAJOR is no one ever ever ever told me about it. No one here. Never saw a mention at iRacing forums....
Yet- I am pretty sure a huge majority of people are doing it. Thats really unfair to us not-naturally--gifted guys out there working our butts off to compete
I'm spectating this super fast dude driving a Star Mazda right now @ pole and guess what? He's using that 2fms move like no tomorrow....
Did you guys just not know about this move or didnt care to share the knowledge?
I've just used it in my last 2 road races to save myself over & over. My SR is climbing nicely and almost won a race. WhY??? Cause now I can run a super loose super fast setup. If I loose it who cares I mash both feet down and save myself 100%
