Yowsers. Stay away from Week 13 Mazda Cup. I just had a 1 hour practice and it was like a Zoo!

Lol! Yeah, every dummy and loonie comes out to play on W13! That's why I always make sure to have everything in order so I don't have to step into W13 Mazda Cup!

Wanna do a hosted MX5 session?

Well, some of us don't do it intentionally but we're just unskilled and not used to the rigurous physics of iRacing. I am one of those (:guilty:), given that today I made a fool out of myself on a Mazda MX-5 Cup qualifying where I dropped my safety rating by .9 and was .6 seconds behind my best laptime. But in that session I never touched an opponent a single time, and if I had, I would've been very sorry since it would've been a mistake and not a trolling attempt :).

No shame in learning man! Problem here is the loonies that actually take you out on purpose, no one has anything against people learning we've all been there!

Im still learning too you know!. Im talking about the guy drove into the side of me on the straight at Lime Rock. Watched me crash then typed "lol That was funny xD".........

I know, I'm not ashamed (well, just a little bit ;)) neither I'm taking it too personal or trying to bash blaze. I just thought it would be fair pointing out that maybe not everyone in that Zoo was a monkey, maybe a couple were just clumsy humans .

Ouchhh...that's definitely a troll right there!

Coming to think of it, what safety advice do you guys have? I know I have to check my mirrors and keep my lane when my spotter tells me a car is incoming, but besides that what can be done to prevent noob accidents?

Just try to give people plenty of room, but there are guys that will still hit you because they think the track belongs to them and YOU should move. You'll see them, they'll get mad at you for doing the right thing and never understand why they cant get through a race without people "crashing" them.

Speaking of trolls, i had a guy in street stock who ran through me going into a corner and saying "i was so slow". So the next race he was in front of me and i was flagging him down, so the first run i got on him i never lifted and turned him around. He got so angry and typed "when i come back out, im wrecking you". So i saw him moving slowly along the straight and i knew what was coming, so when i approached him i hit my brakes and he hit the wall lol.

Your SR dropped by 0.9!? Or do you mean .09?

This week 13 SUCKS. If you dont want to run the mazda or a oval car on a road course you got nothing to do. What was iracing thinking? :grumpy:

any news on new cars or updates for next season? I havent seen any car updates and checked season 3 schedule I assume there will be no new cars?

For once I'd like them to be focusing only on what we have right now and not make serious tweaks that break all the current setups.

I just ran My first Late model practice:drool:. that car is so Nice to drive it's like driving a Rolls-Royce compared to a 500HP Smart Car [Insert a different unstable car here] when comparing Late models to legends (not that I've ever driven a Rolls-Royce :sly: ). I hear it every time at the race track about guys who switch from legends to late models and they say late models are so Smooth and man the are definitely smooth. I can put the power down almost immediately after Apex in the late model at Road America.

My CSP's are nice but I need a little more time with them, something about the throttle feels weird, almost inaccurate..... the calibration in game was a little twitchy but in the car it feels okay but I'm not sure if that's my pedals or my foot...... I'm going to have to undo the throttle preload I put in and see and see if I can put some negative rake in the pedal angle by raising the front of the pedals because my current stand has them to close to me because of the back board where my pedals go

The legends car @ Boston is so much fun, the only problem is i keep getting wrecked out. I was leading 45 laps into it, 5 from the finish and someone decides to roll down the banking as im coming through, WAM. I swear...

And now you see why Street Stocks were switched with legends for rookie and advanced rookie for season 2 and now they're switching back :scared:

I haven't entered any week 13 stuff because I got caught up in the wrecks too many times.

I did make the biggest mistake tonight and felt really horrible for it. Hosted truck race, was lap down after being wrecked, and pitted for tires and fuel. I was almost to point of merging on the track, when I nailed the gas too hard. It starts to spin, so I put on brakes and counter steer, and hit gas by accident. It starts sending me toward the track, and I see the leader headed to same point. Yup, you guessed it, tagged leaders bedside enough to spin him.

I am sure you got a metric ton of advice on the other thread, but I've had some odd issues calibrating mine. In my case mainly with the clutch. Like it starts at a middle value and wraps around the scale and then doesn't seem to work quite like it should in game. The unplug and plug routine seems to make a difference.

I have the v1's and removed the spacer block from under the pedal to lower it a bit. Not sure if the v2's have that or not.

I actually flipped the spacer block and lowered the pedals and it's still not enough, I'm not going to make any final decisions/opinions until I get a new stand. I definitely received a ton of help in the other thread (and by PM) being a first time Fanatec owner, it's a big leap from DFGT pedals and still something new that I have to adjust to and figure out. I think I want my throttle a little lighter for iRacing, but I still barely have 2-4 hrs total time on them yet. I haven't encountered the clutch wrap around yet (thanks for the heads up) and I'm going to use Auto-blip until I become more comfortable. for me it's NTM 2.0

Week 13 so far has been interesting I watched a guy in a late model wait to pull out of the pits and cut across a legend right at the end of the straight in the braking zone :ouch: right in front of me and the guy behind me just went Ricky Bobby all out through the smoke

This thread gives me plenty of reason to never get different pedals unless I begin to have problems with my stock G25s.

No new cars for S3.

Afew of the old tracks will have improved shaders. Also there looking into adding moving flag men on the start/finish strait, I'm not sure if this is to be included in the new build or a future one.

Check out the beginning of this video for the news.

cheers Rob. I hope MP4 comes out in S4!

Thats all well fine and dandy for you. But there are some racers out there who would like to see cars :)

I don't think he meant stop all the updates. Probably just fix the current issues first otherwise it won't matter if theres new content when no one can enjoy the game because of some glitch.

I hope so! For online pickup racing I cannot find anything better than iRacing.

I will support other racing games (AC, maybe pCARS, rF2) when released as a complete game, but I am pessimistic that they will have a decent online racing component of friendly and safe participants in pickup racing.
:)

Ya me too, I invested in pCARS pretty much from the beginning. It's fun but it won't hold the same level of Simtastic play like iRacing. rFactor and GT3 and AC perhaps will have better physics and game play. Frankly out of all the newer games I'll put my money on AC as the best new game.

Use F3 at all times.

Also if you have a friend that can watch you race and act as a spotter, just that extra pair of eyes that can give you a second or so. That way you don't need to take your eyes off of the road.

In my case, unpluging and repluging a USB cable isn't much of a hardship :) but I hear ya.

On topic, when they tweak cars, do they generally announce it or it is just discovered after the update?

Use F3 at all times.

What I've found really useful is to set "Next Black Box" to Right Paddle shifter, and "Previous Black Box" to Left Paddle shifter. That helps a lot so I can check fuel, Relative, and time left (in a timed race)

Two days ago I saw the promotion that is 2 years for the same price as 1 year normally is. So I decided to subscribe once again, especially since GT Academy has ended. But I now realise that iRacing is way more difficult than GT. I am a pretty experienced driver (some of you will already know this) but I still list .78 in a 25 laps race in Lime Rock lol! I call that a fail and a serious wake up call regarding the way I must actin this game. There is no way a person can race without practicing and that's what I will now do in order to become a safe driver again! Hope to see some of you in race!

I cant believe they made a room at Daytona with the sprint, nationwide, and trucks! what a crazy room this is! I love it. And I'm watching out the window waiting for the UPS man with my CSW!
