I didn't actually specifically mean just the Cadillac, anyone can get 6 months free, that's the recipe for disaster not the car itself. Let's be honest, you don't know and can only make assumptions of what we're telling you on here, for about the hundredth time, I don't go looking for trouble, I keep it clean, and I don't make any stupid or aggressive moves. I've had people literally try to shove off the apex of a corner, run me off the track, etc. So before you say it's brought on by our own actions, I'd appreciate if you actually knew exactly what happened, instead of just guessing. :)

But why do you still race those rookie races? You are out of Rookie and you go back and race in Rookie where people run you off track for no reason. You can move on and race somewhere those incidents happens a lot less.

Like Jav said, the Grand Touring Cup is a nice place to go and yes some people got out of Rookie to easy as they followed the trick everyone say they should. Start from pit and just go behind everyone else. And then they move out of Rookie and you will see them in D-Class, but these races are needed to go any further and if you can dodge people in Rookie, you do it more easy in Grand Touring Cup. The people here at least know a bit more how the racing work and how their car behave.

If you want iRacing to be about racing you need to stop racing in Rookie and move on or you be stuck with the demolition derby until you get bored and we stop seeing you in the service.

But if you do as you have done for weeks now you ignore this post and go back to rookie series and then come to this forum to whine about how terrible it was. To be honest with you, I'm getting a bit tired of reading about it

So he is out of rookie and still races in it??? Unless he doesn't have content, he is bringing the pain to himself by racing in rookie still.:dopey:

Or you can get your irating up over 2000 and have some very good racing in any series you want.

I think the Cadillac is an amazing car! but its rookie. Thats the only rookie series I run even though im no longer a rookie license.

Oh I'm working on it, but I will not stress. The races I do participate in is very good and competitive and I had some serious head to head racing and it all was clean. You see I qualify and end up in the top split by time and not iRating ;)

But I'm two seconds off the best ones still and I can assure you, I go as fast as I can and even though I have a high SR, this is not on my mind when racing or qualifying, but what is on my mind is that I want to finish the race when I race. So I'm not going slow to be safe, I just go on what I know is possible and nothing more.

But on Tuesday I had a seriously nice battle with 5-7 car mid pack battling it out and it was overtakes attempt's, defensive driving and it was all clean. I really don't need anything else. So I'm unsure where your comments come from.

Yes your irating determines what split your in. The range of peoples irating in a split is because of how many people join the race. The more people that join the closer the iratings in a split will be.

This is good info. Thx a lot.

My comments wernt at you directly, but you are in the top splits because of your irating not your qualifing times. That only determines where you line up on the grid. There is only ONE way to get your irating up and that is by finishing in the top half of whatever split your in. Where the safety rating, as been well documented here, can be manipulated in many ways. I ve seen many A class drivers with iratings of 800 and rookies with iratings of 1800. I would much rather race with that rookie then the A class driver. The rookie got there by finishing at or near the top of his split. The A class driver who knows how he got there.

Exactly as Kamu said, I don't have any of the extra content(although the Mustang and the tracks it races on are very tempting) I can't justify spending the extra money at the moment as I'm still figuring Iracing out and I don't want to walk into yet another "ram fest" after paying money for more content, even though according to you guys that isn't likely. I'll be honest with you now, was that last comment even needed? For starters, I've been on for just over a week, not weeks, and you don't like it? Don't read it. Simple as that. I've started from the pits several times (so I don't ignore your posts, get that out of your head) only to be taken out by someone else. The first couple days I started a majority of the races in the pits after following Jav's advice to do so, I drove at maybe 75%, gave people the line, and only passed on the straights, only to be taken out on several times anyways. I think far to many people are making assumptions about myself and other newer GTP members to Iracing.

I'm sorry if I said things in a way that made you feel bad, and the fact that I saw all that posts as week(s) have to be in your favor.. if it was all in one week.. well never mind..
Remember, my native language is not English so I might come off more aggressive then I want to sometimes.

But go into iRacing Grand Touring Cup now.. this week it's Laguna Seca and you can drive a mazda mx5 cup. You don't need any new content to do that.

Good luck on the race!

You didn't, and don't think that you did :) I was just trying to get my point across..

My situation exactly

This is what i do

Well my PC came, need my uncle to come out and install windows before I can use it though. Should be on iRacing, racing within the week :D

Well, depends on if my uncle will return my calls.. Might be left with a useless box if he doesnt call or text me back...

What do you guys think of the Mustang FR500? It looks really tempting like I said earlier, but according to the official Iracing forums not to many people run it? Or am I mistaken?

If you want a series that's a step up, but doesn't require much content, then you might check out the Spec Racer Ford series. I think you could get 8 races by buying only a couple of tracks, and the car is free. From what I've read it sounds like its very good racing. Apparently it's also a very good learning car.

I just started the Skippy this season and really like it. However it requires a little more content to run than the SRF. I've heard they are similar, but when I tried the SRF a couple months ago I couldn't keep it on the road. I suppose my skills may have improved substantially since then.

I haven't tried the Mustang, but I've heard it's a good series too. I think it requires the same amount of content as the Skippy, but is a much different car to drive.

I think the Mustang is a tank with 4 wheels. The car is not bad when you have a good setup but when you have a bad setup you sure can feel it. The mustang is heavy. It may have more power then the rookie cars but it does not corner well.

I used to think you only needed to finish in the top half of the field to gain iRating, but somehow I lost 1 iRating, finishing in 6th place in a field of at least 13 Skip Barbers last night.

The Mustang is awesome. Feels the most like a real car, in my opinion.

Just so you know, but qualifying time has nothing at all to do in what split you end up in. The splits are determined by irating only. You can have the fastest qualifying time of the week and have a low irating and will still be in the bottom split.

It will also depend on SOF for how much irating you gain or lose. I also agree with the mustang being a good series to race. The baseline setup is good so you dont have to worry about setups till you get more time with the car. Most races go offical also.

The only setup changes you may want with the Mustang is to change the front ARB to medium and the rear to none. The rest is fine tuning to manage the temperature (and therefore, grip) balance front to rear.

It is a tuff call because if you dont like the car you have basically wasted $15. The first car I bought was the Jetta and I hate the thing. Once a month I go back and try it hoping its gotten better only to be disappointed. I wish they had a test drive feature for iracing. Good news is though its the only car I regret buying.

Guys, is it just me or have the track limits in general have become more flexible on S3?

I like GT cars though, I'm not huge into Open Wheel or stock cars, so that's how'd I'd like to progress. The Mustang also runs on a lot of my favourite tracks. Maybe I should just get the Mustang and Road America and see how I like it, then go from there?

Welling you only need two items this way why not? Then you have road America for whatever then.
