Is it bad if the same person has taken me out twice in a row now, on the same course in the same car and keeps blaming me for it? The first incident I was running 3rd, making the pass into turn one on Limerock, I'm already half a car length past this person and they turn down into me, sending us both spinning, some how my fault. 2nd time (different race) this same person gets lose coming over the crest, so I slow down, move to the right, and again am half a car length past, and they turn into me yet again.. and again this person blames me, insults me, then says they'll report me for keeping my cool and not doing anything wrong..

 There will always be semi-sentient life, so long as there's some sentient life somewhere. It's akin to Charlie Chaplin's "So long as men die, liberty will never perish." in that, though it's clearly a contradiction, it still occurs as such. And, some people enjoy ruining other people's days... We're just not used to it in Canada...

I know that they used to have a few entries in European LMS. But, that was a different model car. I have always found the Radical a fun car to drive. Such a shame nobody drives it.

Well it's going to get worse with all the new cars coming out unless they increase the number of members.

Looks comfortable to me

I just sit on a couch.. I'll post a pic of my setup in a minute although it isn't much.

bummer about the other pilot taking you out! kudos to you for keeping your cool!

What you need to do is learn from his mistakes.

there are a few things you can do in no particular order of importance (some veterans will hopefully chime in to help out with more suggestions):
1. Put the pilot on your "studied" list so you know when he is online.
2. Find the "danger paint" (a skin for his car to warn you) thread at Iracing - download the danger paints and follow the directions in the thread to mark the pilots car. This way you if you forget his name you will see his car marked in bold, bright colors warning you to stay clear.
3. protest his moves each and every time he takes you out. iRacing admits that they only penalize "intent" and not stupid moves, but an email from Nim that he is being protested might or might not cause him to driver better.
4. Increase your wreck avoidance game.
5. send him a friendly PM telling him to turn on his Spotter in-game so it can warn him if you are next to his car. And you can also ask him to turn on his voicecomms if you do no. 6 below.
6. If you have a microphone, turn on voicecomms and use it in-game. When you are passong him (or other cars) you can warn then with a quick comm such as, "Joe, I am on your right" or "Joe, passing inside on your left". make is brief and quick to give him position of your car relative to his car. of course, this will only work if he can voicecomms on to hear you.
etc
etc.

good luck! yeah, some pilots can be a PITA on the track.

Welp, i guess ill post mine, too. Still a work in progress.

Missing/not yet installed:
- Side monitors for Triple Screen

nice rig! I like the compactness and small footprint of your design!
👍

My current setup, except now I have a CSR wheel

I have:
CSR wheel
DSD sequential bent rod
CSP V1
Mspec shift light
27" samsung led monitor
5.1 surround

what I want:
2x 27" montiors for triple screen
CSP V2
monitor stand
buttkicker

That seat looks uncomfortable how is it?

It's comfortable for a few minutes, then my ass gets sore :D I haven't got around to padding yet. My concern is it'll raise my field of vision. I like my sight looking directly on top of the wheel. Same way in real life :)

Thanks man! 👍

I wanted it to be as simple and minimal looking as possible. Still not finish :)

Maybe GT livery behind the seat?

Guys gonna host a Grand Am DP/Cadillac session @ Limerock in a few minutes, no password or license required so jump in if you're bored!

Beautiful setup.

Have you tried sim racing with headphones before? I used to use 5.1 speaks, but one day I plugged in my old, crappy siberia v1 headphones and was blown away with how much better I could hear everything, including the tires (most importantly). Since then I got a good set of sessheisers and am loving the headphone experience.

Ive had it with the SR system. Ill never get out of D class with people wrecking me over and over. I swear i do my best to stay out of peoples way and i climb a good .20 points sometimes only to be knocked back down in one race. I dunno what to do, im running in circles here. I get close to promotion and some ass clown ruins it for me.

Thanks! I have actually. I have a Corsair 1500 and the PS Plus Wireles. I just haven't got the time to figure out how to use them in tanthem with my two buttkickers. I'd rather have the buttkickers than the surround sound atm. I'll figure it out soon though. In any case, the Corsair, i'm selling if anyone's interested. :D

Shame it is. I've been thinking about starting a club/league. Radicals could be fun. I'll see about my schedule.

I suggest you do a couple of time trials a day. I get an average of +10 points per with no incidents - although just recently i got +50 out of the blue. Don't know how or why - SR is weird sometimes. Well, you only need 4 of them the whole season and be at 3.0 to get promoted (assuming you don't know this already) at the end of the season. Or fast track promotions at 4.0 SR.

Yeah ive been above 3.0 several times on the road side, but it only takes one or two bad races and you're right back to 2.xx and starting all over. I guess it doesnt help that i have anger issues sometimes, if someone wrecks me for no reason ill either quit or hit them back which doesnt help SR at all. Ive honestly tried, but im just spinning my wheels so to speak. Maybe some of it has to do with i still run the nvidia series because i dont have downloads.

Totally agree, headphones are just way better than even a high end 5.1 setup.. Sim racing is about getting the inputs you need to adjust for the input you miss.. getting the sound from your wheels are just way better in headphones.
Most headphones have way to much 60hz-100hz base tones though. Since people today seem to be low frequency deaf. I removed some of the boom sound in them to get the sound I need to hear more clear.

And I hope you mean Sennheiser ;)

If you're still running the rookie class series' then you won't be able to advance your license. You have to do a minimum of 4 races/time trials per season in your respective license (in this case, D), to be considered for promotions. Again, assuming you don't know this yet.

But yeah, best you get some DLC. I suggest buying in bulk since it gives you a discount. 10% off with 3 or more, or 20% with 6 or more.

:)

I still believe the system is flawed, it's especially annoying when people pass in the worst spots and blame you for calling them out and threaten to protest you, these people ruin it for everyone. I've had this happen a few times (as well as a few friends) and my safety rating takes a hit for something I didn't do. I try not to retaliate, but sometimes I can't help it, some people get away with to much and it isn't fair to those of us trying to race fast and clean. I know I should protest them, but I don't think that ever works, those people continue wrecking havoc and dropping others safety rating, and no penalties are given.

Well my problem is my unemployment ran out, just as soon as i built my pc too lol. I was hoping to download all kinds of stuff, but its all on hold. I was lucky to re-up my subscription though, otherwise this computer would just be an expensive web browser. Ill just have to wait, in the mean time ill just keep plugging away. 90% of the races i have are fine, its the 10% im furious about.

Ha. Ya, I meant Sennheiser. That would suck to accidentally get a knockoff brand.

I'm trying to get out of the rookie oval class. That in it's own is hard enough, but I've been managing alot of TT runs and have been lucky and without incidents in 3 races in a row until the race is over. All 3 races someone has decided to almost stop dead in the middle of the track as soon as they can after they cross the finish line. The last race I got a plus 4 in the first turn because someone was stopped to disconnect after the checkered flag and then got a +1 for running of the track after I clipped them trying to avoid them. Why doesn't everyone run one more lap to get the extra points?

How do you guys avoid the carnage after the checkered flag in the oval races? It's getting me almost every time. At the end of that race I started 12th finished 3rd and only got +5 toward my safety rating. How do some guys end up with +35 or even +55 like the winner of that race? I think the most I have gotten in oval is +9 or something like that.

@ ErikAndre71 - PM me if you're interested :)

@ bevo - I'm doing the same thing. Actually just started to fall inlove with oval racing because of Charlotte (street stock). I won 1 race so far, although there is plenty of innate rookies. Had one guy simply turn up the track after he crashed while i was leading with 4 laps to go. Saw on the replay that he was a lap down and just did it for fun. He just laughed it out. I was furious, but what can i do? He had 1.xx SR.

Anyways, it's weird. The last 2 big gains i had was +55 and +46. First one was with 1 off track incident (Skip at Atlanta). Didn't qualify and passed a ton of cars to finish second. The next one was from a TT with no incidents. Although i did have +40 something with 1 spin and 3 off tracks. It's very random. I can't explain it. I've also seen it from other drivers; they have a few incidents and still have +30 and up gains out of nowhere. It's like you're predisposed to have those points - they're just waiting in the wings lol. Maybe it's after a certain amount of finished races? I don't know.

A friend claims to have saw someone with a 0.00 SR on the oval side today..

You know what, I think I remember how people are getting such high gains. It seems like I remember in road that when you pass 3.00 it takes you passed 3.50 plus whatever you got that race. It's just been so long that I have actually gotten out of a class that I don't remember exactly how it works. I haven't raced since I think January. Iracing is a blast though, I can't believe I took such a big break from it.

Bevo, in my experience, take the high line and slow down significantly (pacing speeds) after you get the checkered flags. As long as you can keep out of trouble until everyone finishes the race, you'll be fine. Once the final car crosses the line, incidents no longer count.

@ bevo - that actually makes sense (i think that's it). I was near 3.0 at the time i did the time trial run. So yes, that might be it. I'm near 4.0 atm, ill see if it happens again.

Hmm so I spent half the weekend downloading and setting up iRacing, reading the guides etc for when my wheel comes tomorrow. But then I get told I'm away for work all week :grumpy:
And Bathurst has to be this weekend, which I'll have to watch :sly:
