How can you form an opinion on something you know next to nothing about?

well i did drive in that race and saw the replay :p

I also raced 2 times behind you at summit point raceway. Your braking is weird. Like you are constantly puching & releasing your brakes very fast. your lights at the back are blinking like crazy?

To give a answer one your favorite quote "Are My Tail Lights Working?": Hell yeah! 👍

I'm off and on the brake sometimes on Summit Point, I just don't trust the Solstice that much on that turn.

No problem, just curious.

Anyway you should let pass MX5's (when they are alot quicker). That way you don't lose time.
You couldn't follow the Solstice infront of you, If you let the MX5's go they can push your rival. Whit a bit of luck your rival does defend and losing time instead of you.

I think Michimi-san (Kamuifanboy) just finished 8th, I might be wrong though, there was an off during the last lap by the 2nd place car.

Here he is fighting for position! (#9)

I hope for him that he was around to see the F1 result too (trying to avoid spoilers here) ;). Must have been an awesome experience at that track today (not to mention actually racing there in the support race of course!).

I just won my first race! The Nividia Cup!

It really does feel awesome!

Without a doubt, its awesome to win in iracing compared to GT5 or any similar game.

No doubt! When I was leading I went into a whole new level of focus! Never missed a shift (no aids, g27) and finished 15 seconds ahead!

Yeah he posted on his Facebook that he was very happy with his result today (4th place!) and with the F1 race as well.

Haha thanks for the support here. I finished 7th on track today but, 4 penalties were enforced and I was the 4th car that followed the rules. So, I am very happy with the result, in front of such an awesome crowd.

I was able to watch the F1 race via TV. What a race. Kamui really drove hard to earn that podium. He cut it a bit too close at the end with Jenson gaining though. My heart was pounding.

That's awesome dude! Congratz on a great result! Well done!

Congratulation on your fourth position Kamuifanboy :)

Well done!👍

It was you in the race, yes, Kamuifanboy?
Are you talking about someone else? Your post in bold is in the third person and not first person if you are talking about yourself? a translation issue?

text from the press release:
History is poised to come alive on iRacing with one of the Formula One’s most significant cars – the Lotus 49 -- and two of the world’s most beloved race tracks – Rockingham Speedway and Oran Park – now available for pre-sale. iRacing’s introduction of the Lotus 49 is a milestone in the evolution of motorsport simulations, one hearkening to the classic Grand Prix Legends game developed by iRacing co-founder and CEO Dave Kaemmer and his associates at the Papyrus Design Group more than a decade ago.

Designed by the legendary Colin Chapman, the Ford-Cosworth-powered Lotus 49 scored a memorable debut at the 1967 Grand Prix of Holland in the hands of Jim Clark, who went on to three more victories in the Lotus 49 that season. The Lotus 49 continued winning Formula One races through the 1970 season, while the Ford-Cosworth (and its derivatives) became the most successful racing engine in history with victories from the 24 Hours of Le Mans to the 1987 Indianapolis 500 to its credit.

When it comes to historical significance, it takes a special race track to be mentioned in the same breath as the Lotus 49 and GPL. But in Rockingham and Oran Park, iRacing has two worthy companions for the Lotus and GPL. Rockingham (aka North Carolina Motor Speedway or just “The Rock”) hosted a pair of NASCAR Sprint Cup races annually from 1965 until it was dropped from the schedule in 2004. Oran Park suffered an even worse fate in 2010, when it was closed to make way for a housing development after some 48 years as one of Australia’s premier road courses. Now, thanks to iRacing, Oran Park will live . . . forever.

But these two tracks have lots more going for them than history. Now a fixture on the ARCA and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedules, Rockingham remains one of the toughest mile ovals in racing and, what’s more, includes a challenging infield road course. Similarly, Oran Park features three different configurations including the 1.62 mile (2.620 km) Grand Prix Circuit and the .410 mile (.660 km) North Circuit, which utilize the track’s cross-over feature, and the 1.218 mile (1.96 km) South Circuit.

Thank you! I was in the FCJ support races before the Formula 1 Qualifying and Race events.

The part you highlighted is me praising Kamui Kobayashi on a job well done in front of his home crowd.

I was. Subscription ran out, wheel and pedals broke. Plus I have a ton of things to buy this fall/winter with sports and school so I'm barely going to have time for iRacing. Soon enough I will get back and will try to stay for a long time.

Okay now something really weird is going on, I had 538 points in the Inracing New Challenge (Solstice) after finishing third in my last race, I haven't done anything sense and I'm at 494 for some reason... What?

I raced 4 times last week, and was sitting at 489 points total. I did a race tonight, on the new track (Limerock) and came home 3rd in class. After the race, I had 539 points total now (I checked) and was leading the rookie championship once again. I've only raced once on Limerock this week, its weird because it showed me with the points and 20 minutes later they're gone and I'm at 494..

The leaderboard seems to update to 9 counting races just after a race, then after a while it drops your worst result after 5-20 minutes later. As I told you earlier, only 8 out of 12 races count. iRacing is allowing 4 drop weeks.

It may seem confusing, but it does work. Keep in mind this is a global service and there is no way for everyone to race at the same time to determine who's the champion, so by having a SOF system an using averages from your point scores keep everything in check and at the end of the season everything ends up pretty fair and true.

Oh, so all those points I gained tonight aren't factored in and were part of one of my "drop weeks"? So is there any point in even racing this week?

That's a fair point, I still don't like how they calculate final points and all, but I understand why the SOF plays a factor..

If you score higher than any race you did earlier the last race will count and your worst race will drop. If the last race was your worst race well then those points will get dropped. The point of racing.. I actually find the last 3-4 races more fun to race as people seem to forget about the leaderboard and the atmosphere in the race rooms seem more calm.

I seem to lose division 4 in the Grand Am to a guy that's always slower than me if we check qualify time and I also was faster than him when we raced, but his American and can race when I'm to tired to race and that's when the higher SOF races are happening. Fair or not, for me it's not. But it seem to me I get 2nd position in div 4 and as I joined the service just 3 months ago I'm pretty happy with that ;)

It's a leader board created from what it's the closest thing to fair they can get and it's not perfect, but it's closer than any other options as far as I can think of.

Well that's no different then me, I led division 7 from week one until yesterday. I had 0 wins but 8 top 5's and that gave me enough points. I don't agree with the scoring system either and Erik it works against us as well here in NA. I am not always available to race at 7:00 pm, family obligations and what not. I would find it easier if I could race at 2 or 3 am. :)

Ah, that explains it. I noticed that too the other day. After a SM race I went to check the leaderboard and I had 10xx points. Then the other day I check again and it was 9xx. Thought I was imagining things.

Finally after some time stalking this thread I'm going to be able to try iRacing. Going to start of the Cadillac 3 month membership and then buy the 1 or 2 year subscription. Can't wait! Hope to race some of you soon :)
