I've been looking into that as well.

If you like Short Tracks and close racing then the Late Model is a great series. Setup for the car is mostly hit or miss. I think the racing is cleaner compared to the rookie series but depending on your split really depends on how clean the racing is on average. I enjoy even though I have only done a couple of races with the Late Model (2 hosted, 1 actual).

Is the Infineon Raceway some sort of exclusive track for the Cadillac series?
Besides the Caddy races it only appears in 2 other series at all (Indy and SM IIRC). Seems a bit wastefull

GTC visits it, or used to. It probably falls into the category of VIR and, should it ever be added, the Nordschleife. "Too hard".

I hated it at first, but once you figure it out it's great, I love a challenge. Found this while browsing Youtube..

Would be nice to see iRacing have a NASCAR Premier Series (maybe for A and B class cars) that matches the NASCAR season week for week, including the road courses.

The V8 supercars use it and are racing there this week. (we're talking iracing here , not real life yeah ?)

I think I just fell in love with VIR, what a fantastic track! I joined a hosted session in a Mustang tonight, 2nd time ever on the track and my first time in the Mustang. After a few laps I was starting to really figure the course out, managed to get pole during the qualifying session. The race was 35 minutes total and for 20 minutes of that I had a fantastic battle, until I pressured them into spinning and went on and took the win, my first ever win in the Mustang and on VIR. My fastest time was a 2:11.xxx which was good for pole, and second fastest race lap out of 8 cars, but world record pace is a 2:05.xxx, I really don't see how I can find that other 6 seconds.. I will say that VIR is really underrated and now I'm really looking forward to racing it again when the Mustang Challenge stops by in a few weeks.

Yes, I meant in iRacing
I guessed wrong and chose the SM series, but it was the V8 SC's that has the track after all 👍

Too bad, I remember liking that track a lot in GT4 so I had hoped it would be in several iRacing series.

I wish they had one for Class A, Class B COT and Trucks (follow best they could).

I just noticed they have updated Infineon to be called Sonoma.

Joined a practice. Ran the fastest time of the five of us. Only five seconds off the top qualifiers. Wow.

You bet ! I'm with the majority that are struggling with setup and consistency. Some are choosing to drop this round , probably the smart choice haha.:scared:

V8 is scary difficult to drive around there. Tyre degredation is huge in races too. It's so hard to stay patient enough to not just flatten the throttle and do elevenses all the way down the straights. Fun but not fast.

Yet to really do many laps there this season but probably just avoiding it more than anything.

I was really expecting it to be more sliding everywhere, I had really only used the V8 to practice a little before the Phillip Island World Tour event, so I was surprised by how much it pushes here.

Man I wish the Proto/GT series would've dropped Phillip Island or Zolder(retarded choice of track for that series) and go with VIR!

As I've said earlier I was painting and flooring my man cave and now all I have to do is get the skirtings back. I actually want new ones and need to wait until tomorrow so I can buy them

Anyway, I painted in a color not really recomended if I want to sell my house, but in the home theater community this color is used to enhance the contrast of the screen. Let's just hope I don't get car sick now..

The corner of black!!

I didn't paint the entire room black though ;)

Just enough to not see anything but screens when I'm in the rig ;)

Hope I didn't bore you with this ;)

Oh and the new American GP track is awesome by the way.

Nice looks awesome. 👍

Is there a way to set the virtual rear view mirror angle and have it stay at that setting? I think 120 degrees is too wide, in that it makes the cars look too far away, and would like to lower it to 100 degrees. But I have to re-set it every time I load a session...

Any ideas?

Signed up for the next Grand Am race. Anyone want to join in and help it be official? I haven't raced this week.

I gonna race tommorow on the Grand AM. I had to Withdraw from last race becaus of no practice. After that it was F1-time.

Withdrawed before it started, looked like 8 people signed up with a couple minutes to go, I'm not racing for 80 minutes with a field that small.

I did the one that started at 12pm EST and we had 28 i think, only 4 mustangs though. I actually had a close race for once, i barely won due to better pit strategy. Im really surprised there arent more mustangs, they might as well rename the series the Riley Cup.

Yeah, I probably should have been in that race. Ended just before F1 started, I think I had just got up a few minutes past 11 here (central time).

I think someone said it takes the same amount of time to get 7 or 8 gallons of fuel as it does to change tires. So if your taking that much fuel I would change them if your taking less fuel I guess it would be up to how the car is driving.
