He said at the end of a season, we're currently in the middle of one. Last month season 3 ended on the 22nd, i was promoted to C too. There are rookie promotions every month, but D class and above only get promoted at the end of a full season, or a 4.00.

Im currently at 3.59, the Grand Am series gives you a big push with 50min of clean racing.

I know :p. But I could have swore I went from a D to C license on a rookie promotion day last time, in the middle of a season.. Ah well I'm not worried about it.

Maybe they should come onto the Road side and learn to heel-toe, or at least rev match. :p

Just took advantage of the half off special for one year 👍. I look at it as an investment because i was fixin to spend 30 bux on 3 more months anyway so its so worth it if you havent done it yet. Also i just had a nice race in the Mustang, qualified 9th and finished 6th, a very hard fought 6th. This series has been a really nice progression for me coming from the nvidia and gtc.

I did too :p Mustang Challenge is great, I didn't like the Mustang at first, but once I figured out how to drive it better and be competitive (my times this season are on average 1-2 seconds faster than last season) I really started to like it. Currently sitting in 3rd in the Division 4 championship, about 10 points back from first.

I guess I should go ahead and jump in with the Mustang. I ended up a lap down in over half of my Nvidia cup races last week because of the stupidity of others. One guy spins in the middle of the double right hander after turn 1 at Okayama. He ends up parked in the middle of the track, pointing exactly in the opposite direction. I slow down and move to his inside and watch in disbelief as he pulls right in front of me. He's looking out the windshield straight at me, yet he still tries to whip a 180 instead of waiting for the track to clear!

I'm sure it still happens some in the higher classes, but it's got to be a little better, right? :)

Yesterday, a DP spun and he backed up into the sandpit when we came, so yes it's typically better when you don't use basic content tracks and cars

I posted this question in the iRacing forum:

Usually once a week when I enter a track the yellow "configure controls" button is present in the top centre of the screen.
It will usually happen at least once a week.
Once I finally get it setup again, all the black box controls and any settings for almost everything will also have been reset as if I've just joined the sim.
Resetting all the controls once a week for several cars sucks and in the case of today, I forgot to set steering linearity on and the min force and FFB were set incorrectly as I do not remember what they were set at before for each and every car. 2 Laps - 4 offs / 3 spins and a total crash that ended my race.

What am I missing? This problem is becoming more frequent and I fully expect to experience the problem again within a week.

DFGT - if that matters

Has this ever happened to anyone? And if so, what was the remedy?

It's funny you bring that up since I've had all sorts of issues. I'm curious to see the feedback because I have no answer. One thing I did start doing that I wasn't before is I never unplug it from the PC unless wheel is off a little, just unplug it on wheel itself. I finally just said to hell with working with settings other than basic ones and adjust according to needs but I haven't liked any of the recommend settings so how ever it sets up works for me.

Might try to run that, I see that the 49 Motorsports owner is gonna be in a Caddy. I doubt I can be in the top 15 in the DP though.

I need some advice on seeing what my issue might be. Let me say this, I really have no clue about computers in general but feel capable of switching some stuff out to upgrade to better.

This is the desktop I'm using to run Iracing and of last 2 weeks had some lag issues which I don't know if it's based on computer, Internet (which I doubt) or need to update ( I haven't seen I got this in spring). I thought about upgrading to better video card but not sure I need to or would it make a difference?

After playing with some graphic settings in the sim, It seemed damage model caused a lower FPS but it went from 25-30 to 40 (sometimes more sometimes less).

If I'm reading right, I think your processor is your bottleneck. The AMD E450 is a 1.65 Ghz, low-power processor. It's often used in laptops. The bad news is that it's mounted directly to the motherboard so you can't get a better processor without buying a new motherboard.

If iRacing was running better previously, then maybe you've picked up some malware that's running in the background? Or installed new Antivirus software or something else that's using resources?

It might be the issue, any advice on good free malware protection?

Thanks! I'll do it tomorrow morning.

Now back to regular schedule program. I really wish we could have colored wheels on some cars.

Lol, Aero wheels makes powder coated 14" colored wheels for legends cars for not much extra but INEX outlawed them for the year after they came out and went to spec chrome or Black Bassett wheels (mostly for money/ sponsor reasons), others worried about a change in wheel weight but they didn't add any speed... Darn :sly:

Edit: Found a pic from my first year in legends w/ the blue wheels

Anyway my point is that I'm sure most of the cars have regulations against it, but I'm pretty sure nascar doesn't

But I could see an option of choosing between chrome and black or silver instead of chrome

There's a big discussion on the technicalities why it can't be done. Has to do with how iRacing displays a wheel as it becomes a blur. Probably would need all the alpha channels made for every possible wheel color.

Eric.

I figured it was a long shot and honestly not huge deal overall. Just would be kind of nice added feature which I'm sure one day we will have a lot more detail too.

Was it only the Rookie's getting promoted yesterday?
I know before I hit Rookie 4.0 then promoted to Class D 3.27 then I got promoted on the rookie promotion day.

However yesterday I didn't get promoted and I'm at Class C 3.47...

Was it only rookies yesterday and now I have to get up to Class C 4.0?

(My MPR is completed as well)

Ohh poop... I was too busy trying to get my oval license over Class D 4.0, I should've run another race and boosted my road license SR instead of trying to get both over 3.0.

Ohh well, some more races here we go, and also practice for this weeks Grand Am race, it's gonna be a busy week. :)

*Also nice machine there Roush...

Or you can wait until Rookie promotion day in week 13 :ouch:

I don't get the big deal about getting promoted asap. Are you really wanting to drive the HPD or Williams?

Nope, just trying to get to B Class in both licenses ready for the Premier Grand Am Series next year and possibly the Premier IndyCar Series. Once I hit B license in both I won't be as bothered about getting promoted.

Edit: Also I will be a lot busier early next year so Im getting it out of the way now.
