I don't blame them! The MX5 is an awesome car! And if you want Limerock wich is an awesome track too you need to go Rookie racing!

Well im gonna attempt to do a Grand Am race after ive had a few drinks, trying to enjoy my only night off this week. Usually it doesnt end well lol, i was pretty good at drinking and driving on GT5 but not on a simulator!

*moderators before you penalize me again, i do not advocate drunk driving

Be careful saying that ;)

Well nevermind, i was too busy practicing that i missed race time by a few minutes. Felt really good about my setup though, set a new personal best. Oh well maybe ill catch the 10pm race. I dont have the tracks for any of the other series, except Cadillac which i havent participated in in months.

So I was just checking out my MPR for the oval side, and what I saw surprised me! To get up to C class, I had used the Indycar time trials at Texas. Turns out, that also counted for my C class MPR; so I'm all ready for promotion!

Also, I had my first Indycar fixed oval race today, and it was insane! I started dead last and finished 6th!!! I think people just need to figure out how to ease onto the throttle on the restarts better... But other than the restart chaos (which I dodged all 10,000 times ;)) it was a blast! Going side by side at 215 mph flat out in a pack for 15 laps is mental!

I really want to run the Indy car on the Oval side.. Is it on Indy this week?

No, Indianapolis was a few weeks ago. Wanted to try it as well but I don't have any of the remaining tracks of the season.

And Skidmarx if you are taking a spin whit a MX-5 or solstice on laguna. make sure you qualify infront. If not, there is not much SR to gain if you start at the back or midfield.

Yeah, I guess I found that out the hard way, but brake testing people is just wrong if it's at the front or back... I nearly reported him but I was a lot kinder than that so I guess I'll give him another chance.

It's at Texas.

I kinda wish it was at Indy too, but Texas is still a good time!

It's at Indy on the road side this week, pretty fun configuration in the IndyCar, your lap time really gets punished if you make the smallest of mistakes.

Got my PB down to a 1:15.6. I don't think it's too bad to say I only had the track for 3 hours...

And also, Maxitsu the link sends you to the definition of mathematical average...

You dont have to convince me. I also have been a victim!

Well yeah, if there are races of a grid of 30 cars i will end 15th on average. So whit above average i could be sleightly better. :scared:

But honestly i am pretty sure Erik knows what i meant.

I know the meaning of the word man, but how can you tell your faster than the average?

Of course i can't be 100% sure., But when i compare times and results whit others in the same races and events i am usually not slow or fast.

sup guys, good to see the megathread is still going strong. I've taken a break from virtual racing (much longer than I intended!). I at least got to drive a nice fast little go cart in real life the other day. That's as close as I've gotten to racing in quite awhile :(

I'd say if your iRating is above 2500 you're faster than average.

I disagree, there are quite a few fast drivers under 2500 iRating, and then there are the 🤬 that are quick but keep there iRating low so they are in the lower divisions.

That's pretty unfair to everyone else in those divisions, but it does make the lower ranked drivers a little bit more motivated to beat them.

Whats the point of being in a low division? beside there is possibility you get a lower ranked race when it go's into split.

For me when I got out of rookie I was div.6 and took 3rd in points. Was moved to div.4 for the next season and got 7th. Moved to div.3 after that season and Im barely holding on to top 15. So I would say the level of competition goes up as you move up in divisions. Your division has nothing to do with what split youll be in thats done by your IR.

Corrected.

Good to have you back Sand! Hope to see you on track soon!

Welcome back Buddy!!! 👍

As I posted in the video thread, tried it the first time today.
Got a free three months subscription, so plenty of time to try it out.
Unfortunately the controller configuration is a bit annoying. The X and Y axes of the left stick are interchanged in the game, so I had to change 'em in MotionInJoy.

Lower irating = lower ranked drivers in your split = easier competition = more wins.

These are people who care about number of wins rather than a good race. Best of luck to them, they're usually overly aggressive anyway so I'm happy if they stay in the lower splits.

I always thought guys purposely lower their iR to get to a lower division so it's easier to win championships.
I'm in a division where I'm never ever going to win a championship but still can't bring myself to back off to get to a lower division.

Honestly I can careless what my Irating is as far as championship wise, I just want good racing. I have had some amazing races and some really crappy ones like my last one. Wins are nice but I prefer to work for them than race against easier talent.

My last race had a few idiots in it but one big one at the end. He wrecked me (the leader coming to the white flag) and blamed it on me blocking, which he also said he saw me moving down the whole back stretch (Rockingham, Nationwide) which I had feeling he would either try to run me over or dive bomb. In my rear view I saw him down on apron and then I was hitting the wall which took out the whole field even if he did win. He was pissed because someone took 2 tires and was leading, but I got under him into 1 because he slid up while braking for the leader. I wasn't about to just let him have the line but if he actually knew how to race he could have passed me coming out of 4 cleanly. Everyone thinks inside line is the best but I normally check up to get a smoother line out of the corner. He thinks he gave me room in turn one which I was a car behind him and a lane lower but was braking to enter way before I was even close to him.

I can't understand how doing this brings any kind of happiness. How is winning enjoyable if it's not the outcome of fierce competition where you had to give it your all?

I would disregard anyone who does this as they're a complete idiot. 👍
