Watching that pro race yesterday was a lot of fun. I ended up finding a screenshot of an old brush I had with Dale Jr. two years ago when the FW31 first came out. Wanted to share it with you bunch.

I joined a random hosted session and ran into Dale and Ray Alfalla. Alfalla was really quick back then but not really known as the force majeure he is now (back to back iRacing NASCAR champ). Those were the days.

Why did you cross your name out? You can't escape your fame after you've been on a tv show. :)

When are you going to iRace again?

haha, it's 'cause this image is over 2 years old :p

And on iRacing... I just never know, I always feel like jumping on... seriously every week, but I get too busy with other things. But that McLaren is really calling my name...

I love it. I'm so glad the guys talked me into trying it when we were abroad. I'm focusing on a different car every two seasons and its kept the sim really fresh.

I'm a few weeks into the Skippy (I got a late start) and the car is so much fun it's uncanny.

Hope to see you around!

I'll be racing it this afternoon, feel free to add me on your friendlist (Felipe Andre).

Funny, ive raced 4 races this week in the Mustang Challenge and i finished 5th, 4th, 3rd and now 2nd all in a row. Next race is a winner right? :) I actually dont like these mustangs on limerock, the horses need room to run.

I ran my first Mustang Challenge race last night. Was in the top split. Started 12th, finished 10th. I just need more time with the car to find some speed. I was barely breaking into the 59's. Kept it clean, though. Only 1 inc.

Add me Kevin. Chad Clark.

I'll add you tonight. I plan on racing at the 8:45 race, that's usually the earliest I can get on because of when my son goes to bed. Hope to see you on track! 👍

I'm John W. :)

Just got my first win in Grand-Am and my first (official) win in the Mustang. Started on pole in my class and had a great race, 2nd place was about 2 seconds behind me at the end, sweat was pouring off my face.. Epic.

Nice Mac! Glad you got your first one.

Added, the world needs more mustang drivers! Im able to do mid/high 58's usually but ive been working on tuning the mustang for several weeks now. I know 57's are possible with the right setup, but i dont have the time to really tweek it. If you need setup advice i might could help.

Cool, but I'm afraid we won't be seeing each other this week anymore. Did three races at Zolder and in all of them someone managed to wreck my car. I really liked the track but it's a bit difficult to overtake there, guess that helps the wrecking. Plus, it's very easy to get x1 incidents there with the offtracks so I lost around .50 SR in those three races, going down to 2.11. I don't want to go back to 1.5 SR so I'll probably keep away from the Skippy until next week.

Not sure if I'll race the L79 at Oran Park either, did some practice yesterday and that track is even more prone to carnage.

But anyway, how was your race?

Hi guys, I'm thinking of signing up for iracing in the near future, probably after Christmas now but would someone tell me if my 2012 MBP will run it in bootcamp.

I've got the basic one so no dedicated card.

I runs on and i5 2.5ghz dual core. (3.1 turbo charged) with intel graphics 4000 built into the processor.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it will looking at minimum specs and comparing the NVidia GeForce 7800 benchmarks to the intel graphics built in but advice would be appreciated.

The race went well, thanks for asking. Zolder likes me, I've had two 2nd place starts and two 2nd place finishes, and last night I dipped into the 46.5's during the race which was a nice improvement over my q time.

One thing I haven't dealt with is fighting to pass, I've been more on the defensive over the past two races. I'm still too new to the Skip to really get aggressive and overtake. The car makes me nervous.

I'll wait for people to make mistakes, then capitalize. :)

Cheers!

Cool. 👍

Yeah I was running on the defensive as well, it was the others trying to overtake me who screwed up.

Fuel bug?

I use 12L of fuel for a 12 lap race at Okayama in a MX5 Roadster. It runs it perfect in all my races. I changed it to 8L becaus i did a qualy event. On the grid i noticed i forgot to change my fuel. so i leave the grid and change it back to 12L.
Becaus i was to late i started in the pit. No problem it can be fun. But halfway the race i got a message i had to pit :scared: . After the race i went checking my fuel and i didn't make a mistake it was on 12L. Is it possible you can't change fuel when its the grid countdown or is it a bug?

You should be able to change anything until after you start the race.

Yeah maybe if you go to grid and then go back, changes do not apply...
Or maybe if the change is made after the grid count down... 💡

The weirdest thing just happened, I entered a race and my wheel was very twitchy, it had way to much rotation occurring and it made the car undriveable.. I never touched or adjusted anything.. I enter a test session to try and cure the problem and it was instantly fixed.. I know that isn't a great description but I can't think of a better way to describe it.. Anyone else ever experience this?

But, yeah, it didn't hurt your SR, did it? When that happened to me, I destroyed my SR (-0.50) by destroying almost the entire field... My bad.

Anyways, I checked the connections, wires, etc., but it was only the Logitech Profiler or something.

Welcome to the club. I had something like that yesterday. In general i have alot of tiny FFB issue's whit my T500 when i hook it up on iracing.

-Yesterday there was one race were i felt a bitt less FFB in the center. It made my car a bit slippery. I run a lot of races in the same car/track. I perfectly now how far i can go whit the car. when there are sleight changes in my wheel i feel it immediatly. i span my car. after doing the setup thing again its fixed. it happens every now and then.

- Next tiny FFB issue: When i enter Iracing i do the wheel & pedal setup. when going on track, my FFB ar much higher then it supposed to be. when i exit the test event or qually/race and go back everything is usually back to normal.

- When disconnect the t500 from my computer will result in total FFB loss next time i race.

- When using the "blue" USB-ports on my PC, i need around 13-14 FFB strenght in the game. Most of the time i have the feeling the FFB on the left is stronger and right alot less even a bit loose. Is difficult when driving a fast car that handles a bit more difficult like the Riley DP.
When using the "black" USB-ports, for the same kind of FFB i have to set it around 28 instead 13. and now the right feels stronger then the right.

- When changing the FFB strenght not only changes the total streght but also it shifts the strenght from right copared to left. set it to 20 will usually means both sides are even in strenght.

- my first braketest ends in lock-up.

- Sometimes the FFB gets a bit lose like i said earlier, but sometimes alot stronger. i have to lower my FFB strenght 8 nods.

When connecting my wheel before i start my computer. i have a 60% chance to avoid this problems.

I also have a few strange things happen to my T500RS Maxitsu

When I restart my computer the first 1-3 times I start iRacing the FFB is twice as strong as it is after the 1-3 starts. But after that it's stable.

Also I have tweaked the FFB strength a lot, and I have different settings for different cars. I mostly use the Riley and that's the car that got the most attention to FFB. I tweaked it so that it's as strong as possible without making the FFB meter go red. If it goes red it clips and you wont feel bumps anymore as it uses all the FFB to give resistant in turns. And then it just feels like GT5 :ouch:

I never experienced that it's stronger to left than to right, but I don't feel much resistance when just driving the car as the Riley have a servo steering it shouldn't be very hard to turn the wheel. Some like it to be more heavy and I have fine tuned the the FFB settings to fit my style. But I used a week just adjusting the wheel because when the FFB meter stayed green on one track it could go red on the next one. So I've been testing it on every track I have (witch is all the road tracks) and then even go back and forward on different tracks. Was very time consuming, but now the FFB for me is perfect.. well after I start iRacing 1-3 times after the computer is restarted.

yeah i feel the same way. It seems the wheel feels softer in general. i don't think its the wheel it self is the problem, but iracing is.

I like to keep my FFB the same for every car(and did it in the past) now i have to switch my FFB if i drive a other car. also fuel loads are effected hard.

When I drive the Riley in a race i can have a good pace, but when the fuel drops out towards the end i start losing the "feel" in the car. and i start to drop in consistency. kerbs and bumps are less bumpy through the wheel.

If you feel the wheel is to soft, try change the dampening a bit, I know ideal is to have it on 0, but even though I hate to say it.. The T500RS isn't ideal.. I have my on 4 or 5, not bothered to check it now ;)

Soft is maybe the wrong word. more "loose". Its difficult to put the feel into words. But maybe the damping can make it sleightly better. I am looking into it ;)

and that Mclaren seems to be sexy in every video here. when is it going to be released?
Thats gonna cost me a 6-pack again

Just on cue my modem goes kaput and I won't get a replacement for at least a week! Damn I'm p_553d!!
Have you guys tried reseting the FFB when that happens to you? Anyways you really really should report it on the iRacing forums!
