Join us in the McLaren in Grand-Am and GT Challenge next season, I promise the racing is much better. :)
That's what I'll do. Not a fan of long races. Well, I do like long races, I just don't have much free time to race them. But since I'll participate in a league championship with the McLaren on Monday nights I figure that's the two official series I'll join.

One of the things I noticed on the calendar is that the Dallara fixed series now has 12 weeks, and the open series only 6. Or was it like that this season already?

Anyway, I plan on buying Interlagos of course, and I think I'll also get the Silverado. From what I've seen I have four of the tracks it will be using this season and I've been curious to race it for a while. And if I'm getting two items I might as well get one more for a discount, just not sure which to get. The Lotus 49 seems nice but I won't have time to race it so it's probably a waste of money to get it right now. Maybe an oval track, not sure.

I got the Silverado and Pocono this season just out of boredom, turned out to be awesome fun, I loved it and had some awesome races. Didn't race it much after that though, the safety car leading the most laps got a bit frustrating. Pocono isn't on the schedule next season which is a bit of a bummer, but will still try for the odd race if I have the tracks.

Time to e-mail iRacing, I've met too many idiots on iRacing, and I don't approve of this recent decision to give us a 63 year old car before giving us the cutting-edge cars we I actually want. :(

We=you?

I think the lotus 49 is a great addition, but I won't get it right away since I have other items to buy :/

Also, for the sprint cup car credit- could I spend the money on anything I want?

The Lotus 49 is a big piece of iRacing history, dating back to GPL.

It is a great addition to the game, I for one will probably use that exclusively.

That is cool, but why the hell did that one customer buy a real race car and tear it apart.... You bought the real damn thing, take it to the track for real.

Wonder how much that Sim seat costs lol

I was thinking that too... Might be a bit expensive or maybe it had something wrong with it?

Easy one, probably a store of some kind wanting to have it as a show off in their store or something similar. I actually seen one at a custom car company here in Norway.

But even though it's a motion seat I can't really understand why they need a racing helmet to test the rig..

Someone posted something like that on the hardware section but it was a custom non motion rig made to look exactly like an F1 car and you could buy it from costco UK online in some special section for $28k

But ya those CXC rigs alone cost $45k. They've got 3 at the Le May Museum in Tacoma that you can use for 6 min sessions for $5 (that was opening day) one of the guys said you could rent them out and race the 3 together or something like that if you wanted...

Good point, but still. Seems like a waste to me.

Either way the rig is sick, anybody have a price?

http://www.lolachampcar.com/cars_for_sale.htm

According to that website, a champ car isn't too cheap :P (Who would've thought?!) And a motion rig is... Let's say 15,000 for the whole thing, so I'll guess about 100,000 USD

A.K.A- WAYYYYYYYY Too much for me :scared:

EDIT; Seems like a motion rig is even more! So let's call it 120,000 now. I can't imagine spending that on a racecar and converting it to a glorified video game chair..

120k to turn it from racecar to sim rig?! Who has the bright idea to do that, heck even if didn't want to race it, I'm sure you could make it street legal! I guess some folks have too much money though.

^A friend of mine turned his legend car street legal and has a blast with it and takes it to car shows and on occasion a burnout/donut show  and that is about 10k for a decent used legend and all he had to do was add lights, gauges, and tires.... But he went all out in paint.....

I think my SR just dropped by thinking about racing the SM at Lime Rock
I'm a little disappointed by the shorter races and have to say Lime Rock and Okayama Short are questionable decisions.

Probably the thing that I'm most disappointed about is the L79 races at every 4 hours, I was hoping to have my first races next season, it was hard enough finding a official race on this side of the world at 2 hour intervals, my guess is it's going to be impossible at 4 hour intervals :(
But yea the L49 schedule looks good so that'll probably make up for it I guess :)
Will probably go back to the Skip for the Sebring round too, always wanted to race that combo.

Ya, I learned that the L79 has LOW participation. The L49 is bound to be a big hit (especially in its inaugural season), so I'll probably end up driving it next season. It's a shame, because I really was excited for a full, competitive season in the SM.

I don't think there should be any problem at Lime Rock, they run faster cars than the Star Mazda there in real life. Just be careful going into T1 (which is sometimes futile).

It's not the track that's the problem, it's the kind of people the track tends to draw in. Every crazy on the service seems to show up for Lime Rock.

Very true, Last mustang race, a guy decided to go 3 wide into T1 below the pit blend line and and just punted us (I was on the outside) but if you survive lap 1 and 2 it's typically a great race though

This will sound dumb but Lime Rock has the hill right before last turn that gets car very light correct?

I will try harder this year to get better at road racing and out of rookie/D-class as you guys have too much fun.

Between T5&T6 of 7 turns but basically yes, on the uphill not the downhill

Edit: Now I have a dumb question: is Autodromo Jose carlos, Interlagos?

Participation in the L79 series isn't that low anymore. It's pretty busy during the weekends and the top split races has some of the strongest SOF in iRacing.

Hey dudes. Check out the GTP iRacing events thread. Tomorrow night I'm hosting a Roar before the Roar practice race.

Details in the other thread. Let know if you can make it.

Cheers!
