Hosted already got bumped to 4 cars with the update and you no longer need to own all cars to be able to join!

Eric.

Yeah...There's some novelty in it the first few times. I'm suffering a big performance hit though. Spa is pretty resource heavy already without five different cars too. Even my mouse movement is slow.

I'll be damned if the Ford GT isn't the most fun GT car we have now. I get more communication out of it than the McLaren. It has been a long time since driving the Vette though, so I can't say anything on that.

Maybe they should call them 24 hours of crashing:)

Anyways, drove the V8 around Spa about a half hour. I love the V8, but its not much fun after driving the DP for 2 days straight. The 2 cars are worlds apart. After I got my braking and throttle control back the car was all grins. Can do some ridiculous powerslides on Spa in that thing. And the sound of it is amazing. iRacing is definitely stepping it up in the sound department.

Haven't driven the Ford GT in probably almost a year. I'll have to give it a go also.

So apparently it was a denial of service attack that caused all this. Why would someone try to do that too iraciing it makes no sense!?

Say what?

Well I managed to somehow hook up a 3rd position in the 2.4 Hours Of Daytona after running the first stint in 7th, gained 3 positions during the first pit stop, then battled with until the final 2 minutes with fourth position. The 2 guys up front were in a different league compared to the rest of the Split 7 field.

I tried driving both of them today. I'll give the V8 a little bit more time, but I still really don't like the way the Ford GT feels compared to the other GT cars.

The V8 I just need to get accustomed to the throttle I think. Seems like exiting corners you can't give it any gas without completely drifting and most of the time losing it completely. Is this something that can be handled with a more stable setup?

Well done mate. Sounded like a exiting race on TeamSpeak ;) Your MoHAHAHA when one of the drivers put his car to the wall witch turned into a fake "unlucky comment" to the other driver was priceless ;)

Anyway. Your signature link to your iRacing stats should be

The one you do have, send me to my own stat page ;)

I think there are some setup adjustments to help, but will never be able to tune out the on throttle oversteer. With the car using a live rear axle and a spool, it makes it totally mental under acceleration. Thats also one of the intriguing aspects of the car though. I've always associated spools with straight line racing like drag racing. Whole different story when using them on a road course.

Can anyone link me the season 1 schedule. I can't access the website so I was hoping someone could link me the pdf file.

Don't think so Mac, they have a lot of splits to go trough. I'm thinking Wednesday at the earliest.

Anyone know if the new Trading Paints software is working well, or are they still working out the bugs?

Thanks!

they said to continue using the old one for awhile

does anyone know if this headset adapter works with iRacing? I'd be using a David Clark HS-13.4S with it, I just want to know if iRacing supports this. I'm just worried it'd break my headset or do something strange.

Or should I check with the iRacing forum?

Got my first win in the Ford GT tonight, sure it was only in a 24 Heures Du Fun race, but I'll take it :p

For some reason I thought you were in a Cadillac. I never saw you on the track. I took third in the MP4 that time, won the previous race in a GT. The fixed sets for the GT seem to be perfect. My setup on the McLaren right now was originally a 2.4hr qualifying set. I think I've just added fuel and got the heights adjusted to compensate. Felt great at Spa but I was losing the rear a lot at Suzuka. It has just the perfect feel through the esses where I can slide it if I need to.

Someone wanna tell me why the Ford GT acts like it has an open diff when I hit curbs? Clutch type diffs are advantageous because they do work with a wheel off the ground, or so I thought. Helical diffs require both to be on the ground.

I ran on a Spa hosted earlier and the Daytona set felt perfect, glad to see I'm not the only one seeing this!

Has anyone used the CSW? I am really considering getting one now that my GT3RS V2's Alcantera is completely worn out. Should have used racing gloves more often lol. They aren't available yet on the Japanese site but, the pricing is really strange. The Wheel base itself is the same but, the pricing for the wheels is the opposite of the US. The formula rim is $180 in the us and the bmw wheel is $250. While in Japan the Formula rim is $250 and the bmw is $180?

It wasn't the one iRacing included. I haven't tried that one, actually. It was posted by a Marius something.

I like what they've done with the Ford GT and the fixed sets do feel good, but must admit I'm missing the straight line speed it used to have.
It looks like the GT Challenge might be interesting judging by some of the times I've seen in the fun sessions. From what I understand the GT will be gridded behind the McLaren, which to me looks like the faster GT guys will be right up there with the slower McLaren guys, I think there will be some funny arguments ahead.

I don't know how I rank in the GT, but I haven't found any McLarens I could pass. I could keep up for several laps but eventually they do get away. And that's when I was the first position GT and chasing a 10th position or so McLaren. If anything I feel like the Ford might have some edge at low and medium speed turns. It feels like I'm going faster through them, but I think the McLaren feels slower than it is sometimes.

Yes and no at the same time, they're 3 completely different cars, there really is no comparison between the 2 and the spec racer.
If you're having trouble with the spec racer I highly recommend reading John Bodin's thread in the iRacing SRF forum, the spec racer is all about using the throttle to rotate the car and with practice it becomes just as drivable as any other car in the except maybe the Falcon which requires a lot of control in every way
