What's up with the V8 participation? Been only 2 or 3 official races this week. Was hoping to get a big grid at 10:15 race as I seen 20 guys in a practice lobby and so far only 3 have registered for the race.

They don't have that many people racing them, so they have a few SOF races. Sunday and Monday nights for the Aus series, and a couple for the euro and US series. Usually 5-6 splits on the Aus nights

What exactly is the "Region Club Championship"? Apparently my club won it last season and I got a certificate for it..

Can't tell if serious or not but, seems like the smallest tap and I have terminal damage with this car.

I was being serious. The car that got sideways right in front of me, I t-boned it. Of course he was sliding in the direction I was traveling and I was on the brakes, so it wasn't that hard of a hit, but the splitter didn't lose effect.

It must be really inconsistent. Like I said, I tap a curb too hard, and I have terminal suspension damage with this car. Same with other cars.

Rutter200 there's a race in 8 minutes with 13 already registered if your interested still.
I'm racing it, the new baseline setup is much better. I just put a softer rear ARB in it because I can't deal with all the oversteer. And then there's the sound....

I agree about the McLaren durability. I can put it into a wall pretty hard and it will normally be capable at driving back to the pits in a very stable manner. Most cars would be jerking left to right and crabbing in a generally dangerous way.

Well after seeing how you lowered your car without stiffening the suspension on your Daytona setup, I'm not surprised. That means you allow the travel of the suspension to bottom out because the suspension travel was made for a higher ride.

If the suspension bottom out it will tear things a part if you hit a curb doing 140MPH :)

And if you know better as always when we talk about settings, don't even bother. As always I try to be helpful, but you almost scared me away. (I wonder why I even bother)

Erik: You may be trying to be genuinely helpful, but your "tone" is very condescending at times and seems as if you are just trying to pick fights.

Even with a baseline setup it seems to be the same way if I even tap anything.

It could be due to my net coding thinking I'm in a different place and hitting something much harder than what I'm actually seeing.

He does come off very condescending at times. But, don't we all at times? I don't think English is his first language so, I just let it go.

The baseline isn't really made for anything, it's usually is a very newbie friendly well balanced setup that isn't correct for every track (read every curb)

Sometimes I actually raise my ride height because some of the tracks have very hard curbs and some tracks are insanely bumpy. Sebring comes to mind as one bumpy track ;) And Laguna have some hard markers behind the curbs :)

Finally hit 3000 iRating. Took a really long time but, it feels good to have an iRating higher than almost every SOF lol.

Hoping to get there this season too! Only way to score decent points on D2 is to be on the top split and 3000 iR will get you there pretty much all the time.

Going to head into another GT Challenge race here in 15-20 minutes. Hopefully I get more than the 102 points I got for finishing 2nd the first time around.

Finished 1st in class. 146 points this time :) And the runner up in class was Japanese so a good race I think ;)

Now I just finished a race in the DP. Finished 2nd this time so, I should have more points than the 4th I got a few days ago.

You made that? Looks like it would be a huge time consuming pain in the rear, nicely done 👍

Yes. It took a few hours. The trouble was getting everything lined up.
Thanks 👍
Can put the file up if anyone wants it :)

Just had my first win in the MX-5 Cup! Very good race, started 4th and got 1st. The leader was 1st until lap 10 when some idiot in last place took him out when not abiding to the blue flag rules. I felt bad for the leader that his race was spoiled by the back runners.

If the file was for the C6R and had my Rat Fink logo on it. I would be on it like a chicken on junebug!!

Congratulations!!

I am not surprised to hear the leader was taken out by a backmarker. It is the rookie class so you have a lot of ignorant pilots who don't know what the flags mean or jerks who race people when they are laps down.

Thank you! :D

I think it was down to pure ignorance. I was unfortunately in a lobby with him twice and both times he took out people. No wonder is SR is 1.60!

People need to learn that blue flag rules in iRacing don't really exist. I hear people complaining about it almost every single race *especially* in multi-class racing. The fact is, in real world racing, that blue flag means something, and you can be penalized for not allowing the faster driver to pass without much trouble. But in iRacing, it's simply not that way, the blue flag is advisory only. It sucks and I hope the rule is changed in the future, but for now, as long as the lap car isn't weaving and preventing you from passing, he has every right to the racing line in iRacing. Don't expect people to just move over for you, if you are that much faster than them you should be able to make a clean pass without too much trouble.

👍

I was fighting some guy and we came across a backmarker, and after the race, he was like "You shouldn't have won that, that backmarker was holding me up, not moving out of the way."

He just expected the backmarker to jump out of the way, I passed him properly.

I think for slower class cars it should not really matter. It's the faster class cars job to overtake the slower cars without crashing into them. Now, if you are in the same class and are being put a lap down or are several laps down. I feel it's really unsportsmanlike to hold them up or not let them by. Fair game though as the blue flag doesn't force you to do anything on iRacing.

I just try to think of it like this, I've been there, a lap or more down, and I'm normally fighting my hardest to make up any positions I can. Now if the guy has a damaged car, is weaving around all over the track, or other reckless driving, I won't be very happy. But if he is running his race pace which just happens to be slower than mine, but he is keeping a nice smooth line and driving predictably, I've got no problem with that.

But if I'm a lap down and the next position car is within 10 seconds or so ahead of me and we have more than a few laps left, I will hold the racing line and you will have to pass me just like you would any other car. We are each racing for position, and that's all that matters in my opinion.

He was definitely acting very un-sportsman-like. He was weaving everywhere and cutting the leader off at every corner. I personally think it was terrible driving that cost that guy the race.

I'd love it, for some reason when I downloaded the new Trading paints it deleted all my old .tga files off my computer. That scheme is absolutely fantastic, great job.

I removed my name and country flag so you can add yours. Do what you want with it, just could you give credit? :)
