I figured as much, I find I'm not having much success with such a small monitor,

The smaller the monitor, the closer you have to sit to it, try moving closer if you can

I got my annual bonus today... $5 in credits ;)

I'm over them. I'm taking a break from iracing for a while. My tolerance is at an all time low and if the fun factor is almost gone , I think that's a sure sign I need some time out.

Lat night I was in a Mazda Cup practice session with Ryan Worley, a handicapped driver that has one arm and leg. He ran the fastest time of the session and was a really nice guy offering tips around the track. A couple of guys followed him trying to learn his line. It was a pretty fun session.

In reality what he has really can't eve be considered an arm and a leg. He's got a couple fingers he can use and a tiny little leg with a partially functional foot. It's amazing what he does. There was an iRacing article done about him, very inspiring story. For a while he races with a gamepad, but I guess recently one of the wheel builders set him up with some kind of custom wheel setup that he can use.

I'm inside 4 feet from it, inside 3 feet and it hurts my eyes around 7 laps in, I'm building a driving rig so I can have the computer linked through the t.v without to much issue, its to hard to do it now as I'd have the keyboard miles away from me,

Can't get any closer then inside 3 without my eyes getting sore, and I'm using a lap top to run it, so to use the T.V I need to buld my rig,

Finally signed up for iRacing last night and driven my first 2 Oval races. 14th and an 11th so far. First race would probably have been a top 5 but got caught in the end of a wreck when a car decided to stop rolling down the hill when I'd gone high to avoid him. Second race I was well off the pace but kept it clean and had a decent race with another car for a good 12 of the 20 laps before they disconnected.

I'm already hooked :D

I just use a 20 dollar stand from fred meyer, here's an old pic that I've posted somewhere before and I connect my laptop to my tv with an HDMI cable

I was just invited to join the North American GP league, ran a hosted with them the other day and was asked to join. Anyone fellow GTP dudes in it? I see that Jav is ;)

The McLaren at Interlagos is dreadfully bad to drive.

Hopefully the DP is not the same. Been looking forward to this week at Interlagos. Going to be busy week for me, hopefully I can find to time to get in some practice and a race or two.

The McLaren at Interlagos is dreadfully bad to drive.

Why is that? I did 50 or so laps with the DP their and it's not to bad.

One track where I think the McLaren has a advantage over the DP is at Zolder. With all the twists and turns the DP can't get up to 5th very well. I would have thought Interlagos would be similar?

Is that so? The SM was good fun last week. Magnificent track.

All three of you seemed to have taken it as the tracks fault. I'm blaming the car. The car just has no front grip to be able to get around all of these awesome corners at Interlagos. The HPD and F1 car are an absolute blast around the track.

The car? The track? Certainly not the driver? Must be an iRacing bug.

I want to like the Mclaren but I just can't.. Maybe I need more practice in it..

I'm not taking it out on the track, I really like my DP racing their. Sorry to lead you on to thinking it's the tracks fault, however at Zolder it is the tracks fault, well at least for my skill set. When I raced their I think I hit 5th gear once or twice and it was tough trying to stay ahead of the McLaren.

When it was released I loved the throaty sound it made. I could handle it in a slowish fashion. It however has been sitting in my garage lately and I really don't like driving it anymore. Every once in a while I take it out for a few laps.

The thing is, that skilled racers can really work that car well. A few of those flying Finns can give the DP a run for the money.

Ya I've driven maybe a total of an hour in it, maybe with more time I'd learn to like it. I still prefer the C6 R and Ford GT..

Indy cars at Dover is ridiculous. There is absolutely no passing unless you and the other driver have a "gentlemen's agreement" to swap positions and make it a little more fun. Otherwise just stick to the bottom line and watch the parade.

Did my one race here, took 3rd, good enough for me, I'm done with this track, it's just no fun. I had way more fun at Talladega in the Dallara.

Ya, the Ford GT is really a great car now, since the update. The sound is one of the best in iRacings stable. The Vette always sounded awesome and both of them are fun to drive. I would need to have some serious practice time with them to be competitive.

I'm guessing with the F1 you were running low fuel?

Because during the races with high fuel (because doing a 1 stop race is far slower than a 0 stop race this season) everyone was complaining including myself about the car bouncing and having way too many 4 wheel slides (Understeer slides) even in the fast turns.

And the racing itself, please don't get me started on that. I'm sure if you watched the start of the World Championship with the amount of crashes, spins and contact with other drivers you'd get the idea.

I'm not downing the track or car itself (although it has some serious issues that need resolving) but the car and track as a combination, with that amount of fuel just didn't work out.

That's one of the biggest issues in a lot of series. Perhaps throwing in mandatory fuel stops.

It would make the races a lot more interesting to have some pit stops. The FW31 used to be 1 stop at least, but now every race this season has been 0 stopper. Kinda takes some of the fun away in my opinion.

As a driving standpoint they're a lot of fun. This track is crap to race on in a sim. Nobody gets how tight that first corner is. I remember saying in this thread twice that that would happen when they announced this track.

Yeah, it is a 🤬 to get right even on your own, then when you add another driver trying to make it 2 or 3 wide through the second part of the turn then people have a serious problem on there hands. 99% of the time it results in a crash.

I agree. Wasn't trying to dis the track in any way. It's awesome!
