I won my first grand am iracing league race today at road America :)

*series

Since you brought up leagues...

I've been looking for a league, checked the forum section, but there aren't many options... Any ideas on how to find a good one?

I don't have any car preferences or anything like that.

Lake Mary here. Jav is down here as well. If you ever go to Sebring 12 hours or Daytona 24 hour be sure to post it.

Planning on working at fields?

No i plan on returning to Atlanta when im done. I would love to go to one of those races, it all depends on if they have them while im down here AND if i have the money to spare. Things are very tight right now but hopefully that will change.

Man its been a while since ive been here. Havent had much time for iracing because of work and now more schooling. Im currently 5 months away from being a level 1 technician for BMW so i gotta stay focused! Also i moved to Orlando, anyone down this way?

Anyway i do have a question about the Mustang, it doesnt seem all that different from before but ive noticed my lap times at Watkins are a half second slower now. Anyone else experiencing slower times with the stang or is it just me? Maybe i need more practice to get back to how i was? Not sure because they feel like solid laps.

wow yeah. i still need to go there and do that. i have been to one in Cali. it was the most fun i have ever had. its so nice to really be in a semi real environment. the tracks they have in Europe are NUTS.

I know you guys have a track in orlando that you could also do the Richard Petty Driving Experience too. But they limit the cars to 130 and the ride-along cars to 165, I did a ride along in vegas a long time ago but it's only 3 laps and if the go karts are any fast I'd recommend the karts over Richard Petty Driving Experience though

Check your club forum and if they don't already have a league the take the initiative and people will follow 👍
In the NW club they do tuesday night trucks and a late model race some weeknight, and something that they call the Blue/Green challenge, where people from WA are Blue and people from the other states on the club (50/50 distribution relatively) are green. And some points system is rigged up where the highest placed finisher from the winning alliance picks next week's track (road) and a car (any) and the highest finisher from the losing alliance picks car #2 to run. Or something similar and it's a lot of fun

The mustang at Watkins Glen cup is the most fun I've had on iracing. I love the car and the track.

Jav: I just got a PM from David Tucker saying that the iRacing alpha testers have been absolutely begging for hosted/testing power adjustments to go along with weight balance for the past couple weeks.

He said it wasn't his department so he can't implement it himself, but at least the testers are asking for it so that's a good sign.

This is potentially great news for reviving your BoP league with a few different GT cars, maybe McLaren, Ruf, Ford GT, and Caddy or something like that. Corvette is possible too of course.

Always a possibility

Anyone know when the Oculus Rift will be released? I know they have the development kits out, but I'm talking about the finished product.

I'm asking because I was looking at going triple screens at beginning of new year. This Oculus Rift may just change my mind. Also would be way cheaper and way more immersive.:tip:

We haven’t announced an exact date or quarter for the consumer product’s release, but we promise we’re working tirelessly to make it available as soon as possible.

I would expect mid-late next year. That's just my guess based on things they have said in various interviews. They are pretty tight lipped about a date. They more than likely have a "good enough" hardware spec that they could release this year if they wanted, but there simply isn't enough software support yet to make a release successful.

We need more games like iRacing with simple integrates native support. Average consumers will buy the Rift I believe, but they won't be happy tinkering around with driver injectors and command line interfaces. It has to detect the Rift automatically and just work out of the box or else it will fail.

I'm not sure that I want to race anything that doesn't have NTMv5 anymore. The skippy feels great (I didn't have it before v5) and the Street stock performs as I think it should (not that that means anything).

I haven't raced the skippy yet. I think that I'm going to give Suzuka a shot next week in the skippy. That strikes me to be a track that people will be driving themselves off. I'm not very fast but I do tend to be consistent.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. I did have the Skippy way before NTM5 and I was able to drive it without spinning out but with the NTM5 I actually feel when the car is going to spin, I'm able to correct it and if I do spin, I'm able to better predict the path the car's gonna take and recover faster from it. It's awesome, It's like I'm driving a kart and I feel when I need to countersteer. I don't do ovals, but if the car you drove feels like I just described above, then you'll love the Skippy as well. :)

The F1 is getting a mid-season update to the NTM5 too. Tempted to buy it now for this very reason.

Any member circumventing the requirement of a replay from the session by attaching pictures of couches, logos, cvs file, pets, or any other file beside a rpy created by the sim from the session being protested will receive an automatic 1 Week suspension from ALL Multiplayer Sessions

I don't understand. People attaching non-replays when protesting?

Edit:

Found in another thread.

The protest form requires all fields be filled in and in some cases requires an attachment. if a person is filing a protest for intentional wrecking a replay is required and you can not submit the form if there is no attachment. So what people have done to circumvent the process and requirement is attach a picture of items described in the announcement.

So for example, if you were you file a protest against someone for 6.10 Retaliatory or Intentional Wrecking, and you attach a picture of your couch and no replay file of that incident from that session. It will result in you being suspended from all multiplayer sessions.

Mac i was spectating your race, that was some good driving. You were patient and made a nice move on 2nd place with a few laps to go, then on the last lap you had a run at first. Was fun to watch man

Thanks, that was fun.. I got blocked a few times though . It killed my SR too.. not really sure what I did, I didn't hit anyone or get run into at all..

I think it's hilarious. I've actually thought about doing something along those lines especially if I got in a fender bender in real life

I never even saw you in the 8pm race. I didn't qualify and my IR is pretty low so I started 10th (I'm just glad I made top split!). I saw you registered for it and just hopped in last minute. I hadn't drove the mx5 (except for a couple figure 8 races) since last year, so I had like 3 warm up laps to try to get back into the groove. I was about a second off pace. Finally got down to around 1:01 flat, but the fastest guys were breaking into the 59's. It was fun though! There was some good action in the back for the first several laps. I ended up 7th I think. I need to hop into those Mazda Cup races more often.

Well I just got demoted to a B license on the road side, made a mistake and took someone out under braking, then I got 3 more 4x contact incidents because someone either ran into me or they were to slow coming out of the turn and I gave them a light tap which some how turned into a 4x..

Ouch, i know you're not a dirty driver. I would advise you to stay out of the lower class races maybe? They are fun when you get a good field but sometimes even the best drivers cant avoid silly mistakes from other drivers.

Yeah, I was just going to say the rookie and class D series are terrible to get SR in if you're a high license holder. If you get like 1x you lose SR.

EDIT: 27 incident race, terrible luck! I have no idea how you managed that, you've always been a clean driver when I've raced you!

Those low skill level drivers get the best of us man. How did you manage 27 incidents though? I haven't even gotten that many before, and I average 8 a race

It wasn't really anyone's fault, the people I was against were far from low skilled, I just found it weird that I kept getting 4x.. I was "bump drafting" down the back stretch, hit the car in front a bit hard and he wiggled just a bit and I got a 4x out of that, then going out of the last turn I give him a slight bump (accidentally) nothing happens and again with a 4x, and then finally the same car bumps me down the straight and I get a 4x.. Outside of an incident that was completely my fault, I didn't take out or damage anyone or get any damage myself and the contact was far from hard.. so I'm just curious as to why I had so many incidents in what was mostly a clean race..

Yeah, you just named 12 incidents... Which isn't even half xD

Key word : mostly

Well I couldn't call it squeaky clean, I'd be lying  I had a few off tracks and stuff, but most of it was from the 4x contact.. Oh well, I didn't race any A class series anyways.
