Mac, have you seen that tv show "Patrick Dempsey racing le mans" there was a quick segment where patrick was practicing at long beach with full structures and colors on iRacing and I think the show was based on the 2012 season

I've been looking for full episodes.. So no not yet sadly.

I really like the first episode that was on discovery. Do not have the Velocity channel or would have watched the rest. I keep scanning discovery channel to see if they move the later episodes over there.

However, it will probably come to netflix at some point.

I thought the Long Beach was just a test track?

Hey...hey guys...

It was on rFactor. If you watch it again, you'll see on his middle screen the rFactor HUD

Maybe I'm in the minority but as much as I like new cars, tracks. Why not fix what we have first before adding all these cars to a service that many don't drive?

I love COTA and it will be nice addition. Tracks aren't as bad as long as we stop adding tons of extra cars and update what we currently own like NASCAR needs all current models, other aeries need some fixes.

You could say every series needs current models. iRacing will never be fully up to date I'm afraid.

Without BMW, Porsche, or Ferrari, no GT series will really feel much like a GT series to me.

And I'd like to see the Gen 6 Toyota Cup car, just to make the Cup series feel complete.

Eric.

Which I understand but look at how fast the Cup cars change with updates. I don't expect every car to be most current but I think few cars really need to be changed or update atleast. One being trucks, nationwide and Cup along with GT based .

I am happy that COTA has been signed as we do need a few large international circuits. I also agree that we need new GT cars especially. The GT1 class is dead and iRacing needs to grab GTE/GT2 and GT3. We will get a BMW GT2 and GT3 next year some time but we need to sign Aston Martin, SRT, Corvette, Lotus, Ford Mustang GT3 Daytona, Ferrari and Porsche (which i think is highly unlikey due to EA) etc. Same goes for the DP, LMP2, IndyCar and F1 along with the oval nationwide and Truck. Although it would be nice i doubt iRacing could get all of these done and as some have already said it will never remain up to date.

Here is the InsideSimRacing Opinion nation with Tony Gardiner. Probably the best interview and update from iRacing in along time.

So who else is hoping they release the RUF this upcoming season? I can live without the AWD version..

Looking forward to the RUF myself. I think all 3 versions of it will be pretty good. Not to mention thats 3 cars for the price of one. A super powerful RWD, AWD version will be interesting since there is no other car in the service that is AWD, and the CUP version could possibly get mixed in with say Grand Am, Global Challenge, or GT Challenge. I'm afraid the CUP version might warrant iRacing to have a standalone RUF CUP series though. I think iRacing are the ones restricting the power on the CUP version so it does have the possibility of being mixed with almost any other GT type series.

And bring on Bathurst already. Can't wait to drive on that monster.

Bathurst preview by Nick Percat on instagram! Looks bloody awesome, super accurate looking!

I saw that right after he posted and comment about how fast it was (Willy2Scoops). His rig doesn't look comfy but I was amazed as just how crazy fast that looked through there! I'm sure being in a car helps alot more with forces which make alot easier to drive than a sim.

Edit: added video of some Iracing news.

Strangely enough, most of the fixed sets have been quite good on iRacing since the beginning of 2013. I just jumped into the F1 car, the standard sets are bloody awful. Something like 4 seconds off the pace with practice.

Are there any good sets for the FW31 out there? Haven't driven the car much since it got the latest TM update.

If you go to the iRacing forum and find the Suzuka thread. The first setup you'll see in there feels pretty good. I'm still way off the pace.

That's my next step.. I had two terrible races late last season and lost it :p
