Maybe they will release both the GTE and GT3 cars as a bundle, like the RUF. Probably not, but it would probably get people to try new series.
As much as I would love that to be truth, the GT-3 and GT-E cars are different enough for iRacing's standards to need to scan the GT-3 car separately and there's none of those cars States side...

You're probably right. Just checked the Road Warrior schedule again, and it seems like the RUF has been added to the Rolex 2.4. Now, time to get all crazy thinking..

Now if the RUF is racing with the McLaren in the 2.4, and in the Spa and Zolder races, one could assume they are going to be equal. Now they may have switched to the Z4 GTE so they could get another car racing with the Ford GT sooner, and the data they get will be much easier to transfer into the Z4 GT3. (I know they aren't the same, but they should be able to transfer some things over)

So my logic behind this is; they hear all the people complaining about single car classes, so they will get multi GT3 cars going with the RUF, and will get another GTE car with the first Z4. Then they will follow it up with the Z4 GT3 a build or two later.

Hopefully they don't screw it up too bad with the series...

Assuming that the Z4 and McLaren will be "equal" or even balanced to race in the same class isn't necessarily a safe bet.

Given iRacing's history of multi-class racing, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the McLaren and Z4 be in separate classes in the Spa and Zolder Road Warrior races. Especially given the fact the forum heroes would object (loudly) to balancing a GTE car with a GT3 car.

Just missed out on a last to first finish at Limerock. Almost totally bit it when a guy in front of me lost control and I had to avoid him. With 5 laps to go the top two tangled with each other and went off, but the previous incident had me back far enough that I couldn't quite pass the leader when he came back on. Last to 2nd ain't so bad though.

iracing needs to uppdate the cars ability to take a lttle rubbing and Contact. Now the suspension can brake with the slightest Contact and its race over. To have a god and secure race is just to stay away from others and letting other pass by. If the other hand you want to race theres a 60 procent chance you wont survive the race without pitting for 5 minutes. This is killing the game for me and Im no hothead and wery aware off my surroundings and still its disaster 6 out off ten in the Ford GT and the Mc claren.

Class B driver in 2nd place constantly blocking me and trying to run me off the track, then deliberately turns into me after he loses it and realizes he's not going to challenge the leader. I should have braked harder, but I expected more from a driver like that. I guess that's why his B-rating is under 2.00. My safety rating actually went up despite the contact, his went down another -0.14. Blocking really irks me.

I'm racing different than I did my first few months of driving earlier in the year. I've spent more time practicing than I did ever before. I still consider myself a self a rookie even though I'm C class.

I know what you mean. I'm constantly winning the L79 second splits now due to alot of practice. But when I move up to the first split I'm gone be a backmarker or a midfielder at best :-P

The Mustangs at Bathhurst this week. :D Something tells me this is gonna make a great combo. Hope Im right.
Looking forward to that too! Not sure if I will race, but I enjoy doing that combo in practice. Indycars are racing at Indy this week, so I will be hoping to turn my oval luck around! (Ever since I went below 2,000 IR it's been a nightmare)

Also, pretty cool news about the DW12!

So... Ruf is just going to be a street car with stickers afterall, so lame from iRacing to not go all out with this thing and make it into a real GT-3/GT-E or GT3 Cup...

@Jav I agree, but I can't say I didn't see it coming. They never said it was going to be a racecar, although they are making it a racecar... The light gray interior really kills it... They should've made it black and give us the generic steering wheel that is on the Mazda and Mustang. Personally, that would've been enough for me.

But it is what it is... People are still crazy stoked for it so I'm excited for some more cars on the course!

Yeah... What really get's me is people's ignorance in the forums crying about "fantasy" cars... It may be called a Ruf for legal purposes, but it still is a tuned Porsche and most importantly it shares the chassis/shell with any modern Porsche race car which in turn is pretty much the only thing a road Porsche shares with any of its race car variants...
So in other words whatever iRacing would've made out of that car would've been the same crap as an officially licensed Porsche.

I'm glad they left it generally intact as a Ruf. It should have the Ruf RT12R interior, because, well, IT'S A RUF! This is essentially a Ruf with an powertrain swap and slick tires. It's not a GT3 car, not a GTE car, nor is it any other race car. It's a detuned Ruf RT12R and it will very likely become the most populated single car series out there. They should run it as a Ruf Supercup, similar to the Porsche Supercup.

I'm just happy that they decided to put a detuned engine in it, because even with AWD, ~700hp would be quite the handful.

Thing is, word on the street is it's going to be with the McLaren and BMW GT3. If it's going to be doing its own thing, then it being what it is is fine. However, a streetcar racing with GT3 cars is going to look awkward I suppose.

Again, if it is gt3 spec- it'll be weird.
If it's by itself- fine.

Either way, hopefully it doesn't murder other cars participation too much.

I can't see it effecting othr series too much. I'll say before the end of the season, the car will have lost participation and the participation in other series will be back to almost normal. I don't think people realize how crap street cars drive on a race course in comparison to a race car. Even your really expensive "Race ready" street cars will be nothing to that of a race car. Too many people will get frustrated with the long braking zones and low cornering speed/grip. This car for me is similar to the Lotus 49. Serves little to no purpose on the service.

Just my opinion.

I wonder if when you buy the first Ruf they're going to release to do you have to buy the other ones as well?
Most likely. They are different cars, just as the Mustang D class road series car is different from the Mustang B class oval series car even though they are both called Mustangs and look very similar.

Where did you all see it's going to go with the McLaren and BMW GT3 cars? Just because they are together on the road warrior schedule doesn't mean that they will be in the same class.

So guys, I have a video I need you to review, any extra angles can be shot if needed but I think one does it enough justice.

In the Brazilian GP I was coming into turn 6&7 30 mph faster than car number 20, when we reach the top heading towards 8 he leaves 1.5 to 2 car widths to his left (the outside). When I get to 1 car length behind him he steers strongly left and with my 30mph closing speed at 130-40mph I don't have much time to react to his block and steam into the side of his car. I have already protested it (I think, when I hit submit it reloaded the page with all data fields still full.) and would like to hear your opinions on it.

EDIT: Forgot the video:

^ What was he thinking..

I've been having such horrible luck lately, between getting run into, running into others and just my own general stupidity I've lost a ton of SR... Not sure if :( or
