I did first season (8 races) last season in Skippy, and noticed a little bit of a difference in the handling. Going on Week 1 and Watkins Glen Classic Boot, usually in races/practice I'd lose the back end once or twice. Usually on the entrance to the boot (after the carousel), but it seemed to me to be a little more stable than last season. However that could just be getting a little more comfortable with the car.

Did end up in last two races going from 13 to 3th, then 13 to 4th on the middle split races.

Was actually leading my Division (7) for most of the first week. !

Need two more tracks do do an 8 week season, but will probably end up buying Bathurst and Oulton Park as it looks like they will both be used next season.

Been holding off until Black Friday to purchase any new content. Have they offered specials on tracks and cars on that day in the past, or has it always just been membership renewals? I saw where I guess it was last year, they gave $30 toward content if you renewed for at least a year on Black Friday, or something similar. I just purchased a 2-year promotional though, so I'm hoping they'll have deals just for the other content.

I hope they repeat their annual Black Friday deals :)

I signed up for a month a week ago (was only $6 back then) to see if I like it. So far so good and I'm interested to subscribe for more. If they have good promotions again, it will come just in time to get a good deal off a 1 yr subscription and maybe some extra cars/tracks.

If there isn't any promotion, I'll probably hold off renewing for a while, as GT6 will also be around the corner.

Hey Mac K, how does the new MX5 compare to the real skip barber one?

Please do post here.

Now that I've played with the new tires some more, I've changed my mind, I love the new tires. The consistency is awesome, they behave more like a real tire (not perfect but an improvement for sure) and the MX-5 Cup drives so much closer to it's real life counterpart and I'm sure Chris Beaufait can back me up on that.

Nice racing you guys last night, I love the new tire model on all 3 cars, it feels so much more realistic and as a result i'm running some really consistent times. I drive an MX-5 Cup for real and I have to say they're inching closer and closer, it's not perfect yet but it's miles better than it was before the latest build.

Nothing to special, but as requested..

I like the new tire model so much that Im not even driving anything this season that doesn't have it. You can really tell the difference in cars that have it and the ones that don't.

Good short read. Nice and to the point. I'll have to give one of the cars with NTM V5 on it a go when I return from Suzuka. Everyone on the forums has been praising it highly.

What are you racing these days? (real) Good luck!

This. This. This.

I wanted to move on to the DP this season, but the NTM5 feels so freaking good, I will continue on the Skippy until something else gets updated. :)

Personally I hate the V8, the Ford GT is probably one of the best handling cars in the service and Bathurst is just awesome!

V8 is very hard to handle but so rewarding when you get it right. It really is a hard car to drive but when you nail a lap it feels so good :)

Bathurst is the best buy on the service and you'll need the ford if your gonna do the World Cup race in January. Haven't driven the Ford much but it handles almost too well :P

What's strange is that I really don't notice much of a difference from V4 to V5 on the F1 car. Then again, I never drove the car much on the V4. But, in comparison to other cars with V4 or V4.5, I haven't noticed too much.

Same series as I was racing last season. Japanese Formula Renault. Right now, kind of up in the air whether or not I will have the funding to race next season. I've had a few tests in Europe with 2 different big name teams who really liked me but, my parents can't even cover 20% of the budget alone. It's crazy how expensive series are these days. FIA Formula 3 with Carlin, Prema, Mucke, or Fortec will cost you 1,300,000 + Euros. GP3 is 700,000 Euros. Renault 3.5 around 1,000,000 Euros with a good team. GP2 with a good team will cost 3,000,000 Euros. How are there so many drivers with this kind of money?

Trust me, there is a huge difference. 2 1.5+ seconds on Watkins Glen.

I am obviously a huge V8 fan. I believe it is one of the most competitive series in the service personally! Almost no races go official (maybe 10 a week?) but wow the races that do are competitive! I love it, and have loved it for over 3 years!

Bathurst every iRacer needs hands down. Every other track seems boring after driving it.

Once they come out, I think CotA and Long Beach will join Bathurst as the three best tracks in the service.

I can't speak for CotA as I've never driven it on any game.

Long Beach I doubt it. I have the tech track of it and it's just to frustrating. I like it but Bathurst has a flow to it that Long Beach doesn't. Long beach is great, don't get me wrong. Just not a top 3 for me.

MX-5+Okayama Full= Awesome combo. Seriously, try it.

Yep. A couple of those corners with this car/track combination are very enjoyable. Easy to get it wrong, but rewarding when you nail them. The final corner in particular is quite tricky to get the maximum exit speed.

I'm very curious to see the world record times now with the new tire model, I ran a 1:49.009 last night on Okayama (which is my new personal best, even with the old tires) and now that the new tires cause the MX-5 to run about 1.5-2 seconds slower depending on the track compared to the old tire model, I think I'd have a pretty respectable position on the "leaderboard"

You would be 19th-20th this season.

Pretty fast time, Mac. Beating me by quite a bit. Strangely I seem to always set my fastest laps during actual races. I'm 1:50:4 at Okayama after learning the track this week. Took my first iRacing win last night also. Thought I heard somewhere that if your safety rating hits 4.00 you are automatically promoted? Is that true?

Assuming you meet your MPR, yes.

Nope, as long as you complete 4 races or time trials at your license level and you get to a 4.00, you'll be automatically promoted.

Recent string of bad luck in racing has continued. Was running in the Top 3 in a really tough lobby. Corvette decides to spin in the hairpin and not hold is brakes. Roles down into the line I'm taking and takes me out. I'll probably lose like 100 iRating :( I keep getting so close to 4000 then some idiot takes me out.

Won a mustang cup race last night. That makes 2 road wins in the past week for me. I won a grand am series race at Road Atlanta last Monday
