Looks to me like the guy in front knew you was coming but didn't anticipate your speed advantage. He got his track positioning all wrong. Looks like he saw / felt you coming and made room on the left for you but as you were not quite there yet he thought probably better to let you pass on his right, on the inside line to take the next corner so moved left but the speed difference meant that you collided. The best outcome would of been for him to maintain a consistent line but for you to also realise the speed difference too and perhaps slow down to give yourself time to react and make the correct decision.

It was for position. He wasn't a lapped car so I assumed he had decided on a defensive line and then realised the speed difference and tried to block too late, either was he was gonna be overtaken as I would have been able to go right had he taken racing line..

I got to tryout the occulus rift at a friends house today with iracing. I've got a pretty nice triple screen setup and the rift made my setup seem stupid. I was amazed at how well it worked. You really do feel as though your sitting in the car. His wheel was the perfect distance from his in game view and it actually seemed as though I was holding the in game wheel.

I looked to the right once in the dove racer and thought I was going to hit my head on the roll bars and it made me move away.

The only downfall is the resolution is way to low. It looks like your looking trough a screen door. Your eyes adjust and you don't notice it that much until you try and look far into the distance.

I came away extremely amazed. It's the most impressive thing I've seen for gaming ever.

Once they get the resolution up I'll be getting one for sure. I can't praise it enough. It was amazing.

I'm not convinced he was blocking or defending position. There is every reason to believe he was simply moving over to the proper turn-in point for that corner and didn't realize the speed difference would turn his move into a divebomb. At the moment he committed to the lateral move, his spotter probably had not yet said "Car outside," and he may have thought you'd have time to avoid contact.

Before protesting someone, try to experience the event from the other driver's cockpit and try to understand other possible explanations, not just the ones that are protestable.

I think I have already protested it, but not sure as page didn't confirm anything and was afraid to resubmit in case I double submitted.

Anyway, tried a hotlap at Road America, got a 1:38.804, any criticism welcome.

^ What was he thinking..

I've been having such horrible luck lately, between getting run into, running into others and just my own general stupidity I've lost a ton of SR... Not sure if :( or
We raced together today at summit point Mac K. I seen you telling some guy off lol.

 That was funny. I wasn't really telling him off, more or less just questioning him and his "on track awareness". I really enjoy racing the Solstice and MX-5, but trouble is you get caught up in a mess all the time and people who will pass anywhere and try the silliest moves. I'm not perfect, but I give people as much room as possible, don't hit anyone, and race everyone fair. People always argue that it's a rookie series so it's to be expected.. well considering I've rarely had any incident at all with any rookie pretty much blows that theory out of the water. These are people with C-A licenses, some with iRatings into the 3000s and higher who drive like this. I don't take iRacing that seriously, but I try to at least have some good clean, fun racing with others and I happen to like driving the "slower cars". Maybe I should just jump up to Grand-Am or something so my SR and iR will suffer less..

/pointless boring rant

I did my first laps at Road America today with the McLaren. I jumped right in after joining and was sliding all over the track only to find out that I have a Watkins Glen setup on from Season 3 Week 1. With the fixed setup I was still struggling then I see Mac K join run a 2:10 and leave the session. Show Off. Anyways I got a 2:12 and I pretty happy about that lap since I was only aiming for a high 2:13.

Yeah I agree. My Irating is low but I'm slowly building it up. My first 2 months killed my stats and I wasn't in the right mindframe to race against people. Now I'm back and I mean buisiness!! How did the race we just had go for you? The guy I was battling for 3rd almost killed us both when he understeered of the track and tried to keep it floored through the grass. He hit a bump and flew back on track and I moved over just in time:boggled:

I've experienced the same. Most rookies actually tend to start from the back, and most times they are aware of their lack of experience. The guys who have ticked me off the most are between C-A licenses trying to pull stuff out their ***.

Oh lord, if ya'll could have seen these two guys take each other out in the MX5 Cup race I just one. I'll post the vid later..:p

The funniest wrecks I see are when the bottom split street stock guys get into it. I have a replay saved where a guy crashed in T1 and then crashed again in T3 then drove backwards on the track into the leader

Did anyone race the Mustang at all on Bathrust? Awesome combo. Grand Touring Cup is there this week, another great combo.

I wanted to race it so bad! But work was crazy and just didn't have the time... I did a couple of laps in a W13 server and fell in love!

Skippy on Okayama is a good combo too, just managed to pull of a 2nd place finish, my highest in the Skippy yet.

Yeah I think I managed 7 or 8 races there. Great fun only got 1 win, but had some great battles to get in the top 5's.

Yeah I did 3 races in the Mustang , good times ! I'll do a few GT Cup races this week too. I can see what will happen this season , whatever series races at Bathurst for the week , I'll be there ! haha 👍

I wanted to race mustang at Bathurst badly, but I don't have the track. Mustang challenge is my favorite series on iracing

Any iRacers getting GT6 when it's released? I pre-ordered awhile ago. I jumped back on GT5 for a bit today just for some fun, if you can get in a good lobby it's still pretty fun. I just wish the "braking model" was better and I hope they improve it for GT6, you need to push the pedal right to the floor to get any stopping power and driving without ABS is completely unrealistic to the point that it's laughable. I was in a lobby where no ABS was allowed and was told I don't like a challenge and don't know what I'm talking about apparently..

I'm going to pick up GT6. I'm not sure how much playing time it will get with iRacing, Assetto Corsa and Game Stock Car 2013 also competing for time. I think that the braking without abs is much more tolerable if you reduce the brake settings. I hope that they have fixed the four wheel sliding thing from the demo.

I'm definitely buying, nut will never be as dedicated as I was to GT5. Not expecting much of it, that way I won't be as dissapointed!

I don't know how much time I'll spend on it myself, iRacing has pretty much taken over for me but I still find time every once and awhile for some good old Gran Turismo
