I'm not a member of iracing at the moment, can anyone summarize this thread? Supposedly it's Shaun Cole talking about his split with Inside Sim Racing.
Thanks.
"I agree it was weird.. Not easy for me to do alone and then edit that piece. He left without me knowing and I actually haven't talked to him face to face since December 23rd. "
Matt Orr a.k.a. Empty Box on YouTube stating that Shaun had asked him about a Job offer with ISR but, never really moved a long after that.
Hey Guys,
First I will start with addressing the posts asking me how I'm doing, I'm doing good considering the circumstances and thanks for asking.
Second, what happened between us is exactly that, between us. I will say a few things about the situation though.
I have lost my best friend (next to my wife) and it's not what I wanted.
I have lost my business partner and it's not what I wanted either.
I asked Shaun to come here, blog or come on the show to say goodbye and for reasons only known to him, he has chosen not to. I can only speculate why he doesn't want to and I'm assuming that it's because it's not the easiest thing for him to do. I can only assume like all of you why he went back to California and left the show, but he chose not to tell me. Matter of fact, I didn't know he was going to California until he was already there.
Were things perfect behind the scenes.. no.. Running this company has been a roller coaster ride to be honest. We've had good times, great times, tough times and bad times. But, please take into consideration that this company is a lot more than us booting up a camera and talking sim racing. We've always tried to be 100% professional for our viewers and our sponsors and based on all the great comments, that has come through.
It took me more than a week to get over the shock of him leaving, but now it's time for me to move on, pick up the pieces and do my best to continue this without him. I have complete faith in my ability to keep things rolling. Will it be tough.> Sure, but I love a challenge. Do I miss having my good buddy by my side to talk sim racing with on camera for all of you.. Hell yes I do. But like I said in the show (if you watched), sometimes good things need to come to an end and our business relationship has run it's course.
I've seen my favorite bands break up, favorite TV shows come to end, and favorite driver pass away as I watched (Dale Sr). Not that I put us into that realm of popularity, but I chalk it up to life and we all have to move on.
Thanks again for the kind words and I hope Shaun comes here soon to see how much people loved him and how much he'll be missed.
