Hate to bring in more "who is at fault" videos but, just had another one. I think it was merely just a racing incident but, could have easily been avoided if the other driver had used a spotter. I'm just upset because I keep having things like this ruin my iRating after I will spend 4-5 races getting it back up to where it was last.

That was defiantly his fault in my opinion not giving any room, that didnt look at all like a divebomb he just completely negated your presence and took his normal line.

As a self-preservation measure on iRacing, sure. Racing wise - he had full rights to that corner since I don't see sufficient overlap. I think the car behind should've braked more when there was no overlap before turn-in.

He may have had full rights to the corner but, would you turn in? I'm still there. And you ever try braking more when you're already on the limit? It causes an even larger crash when the car on the inside locks up and hits the other car at a higher speed.

Really nice of this guy to apologize to me. Like I said, it was a racing incident in my opinion. Though the incident could have been easily avoided had the room been given at apex.

I dont like road america very much because for how long the track is it should have a few more corners. Also T4 in the Riley atleast is the worst corner for me because its a cresting hill corner and the rear just wants to break free immediately.

Technically, that's turn 6 I think , but I like Road Murica. Lots of overtaking zones and being man enough to take the kink flat out in the Riley(not in my case most of the time  ) is thrilling

In an official session - maybe not. In league racing where people review incidents and assign post-race penalties - I would.

Keep braking instead of using grip to turn, and chances are you'd miss him.

It is possible that you've had an acceptable overlap, it's just hard to tell from the two views you showed.

I dont count slightly curved straightaways as turns soooo.

Won my Grand am race at the Glen. Started 3rd and with a full fuel load. Took the lead from pit stops and never looked back :)

Gonna start my oval side of things even though i dont really like oval but it should be rather quick/cheap since i only want to race on short tracks with both late models. Started racing the Monte Carlo at South Boston and it is defiantly alot of fun although i wish the grids were a little larger. But shorts tracks really make you learn rhythm and consistency which i hope will carry over to the road courses.

Yeah, I'm liking the oval too. Maybe because I take it more casually, w/o hours of practice/staring at ispeed charts to find a few tenths. I'm probably gonna run the street stock fixed for a bit more to increase my IR a bit to be in higher splits, and then jump into Carb. cup for a while.

Yea i defiantly dont take my oval races as seriously as i would road.

Where is GT3 racing this week ?
Going to be another couple of days before I can get back in my seat, but keen to know where I'll be heading.
Cheers

Brands Hatch GP(I might give this combo a go this week)

I'm looking forward to Brands Hatch as well. After my disastrous two races at Silverstone need something better.

However it's a narrow'er track so I think i'll probably end up starting from pits at let the chaos happen before I get there.

just incase you didnt know, carb cup has no effect on IR and SR. Also, unless you start in or around the top 5, be prepared to be wrecked in a big high speed pile up.

I know, that's why I said I'm gonna work on my IR a bit in SS. I'm basically gonna go there to try to learn to predict wrecks. Seems like a necessary skill for progressing further.

Not sure if it has been already mentioned here, but we are a lot closer than I thought... Is it me or did they put the hammer down and turnout times has been dramatically improved in the past 2-3 months??

I can turn a good lap at brands hatch in Ruf Track for the life of me. Fastest so far is a 1:28 something. I'm not fast fast, but should be better than that. :(

Too bad i dont like COTA at all, Tilke copy-paste tracks leave a bad taste in my mouth. And after just 2 days of racing at South Boston im a C-Class and can now start racing the Super Late Model woo!

This guy will be racing brands!

Yea I'll be lucky if I'm able to race, maybe just a hour or so of practice. Practicing in the RUF because at least the practice rooms are pretty full and you still get to have some battles.
I haven't had a chance/time to actually race for about a year now, and it's not going to get any better...I'm going to become a dad for the first time in a couple of months :) Stoked to be a dad but seat time is pretty much going to be a thing of the past I think.
