He would of been smart to let you by before going up the mountain and drafting to pass headed back down the long straight where this transpired. Essential he would of been ahead at the line. Foolish of him.
Not sure. This dude seems to have lost quite a bit of time around the top of the mountain, might not have stayed close enough.

To me it appeared to be a decent battle (he was clearly slower) no clear blocking until the end he decided to pull a Kyle Busch too late. Did he give you a bunch bull afterwards? If he didn't he could have just been trying race too hard and slipped up watching mirrors. If he did, well yeah it was intentional.

Well, since I have general consensus here.

The incident took place with around 8 minutes to go in the race. I had spun a few laps earlier and that is why he was in front of me. With no traffic, I was able to close a 12 second gap in 3 laps so, I was running around 4 seconds a lap quicker than him. As far as the incident goes, the incident could have been avoided if he did not move over for the block. When he moved over, I assumed he was squeezing me for the corner and that is mainly why the contact occurred. He didn't leave enough space for me to get through at the trajectory that he forced me into. Once we touched, my car jinked to the left a bit, so he was definitely heading for half a car off the track even if I tried my best to keep it two wide. Admittedly, when we touched, I decided to just run the last half of his car off the circuit because he was driving like a headless chicken. He then proceeded to get on the radio saying things like, "What was that about!" And "You idiot!" And finally ended with "You are such a dirty driver!" I responded with a nice and calm, "And impeding another drivers line 3 times is not dirty driving?"

There is a difference between blocking and defending your line. Had I not been had good spacial awareness, I would have turned him into the wall on the straight after turn 1.

I'll admit myself i do tend to do more blocking than defending but i only really do that when i know the guy behind is running near the same pace as me and there isnt very long left in the race however if you get a run on me down a straight i will block but if you do manage to sneak a nose in i wont run you off the track ill pull back over and give room. I basically leave it up to the driver behind if he wants to call my bluff or if he lifts off the gas and tries in the next corner. However If i noticed that the guy behind me though was catching me at 3-4 seconds a lap i wouldn't really try to do any blocking/defending because it would be futile.

Not sure if it's the right place to put it or not, but just to let you guys know, I've got a RUF Track race on at Mt Panorama. Just gone up! So jump in if you can!

I will only be patient for about a lap of blocking me. If the person in front cant figure out that they cant hold the position I will help them figure it out. Iracing must see it my way also. I have had 4 people say they were going to protest it, not sure if any did, but I have never been punished for it. As I said I don't do it with the first block, but if you persist I will move you.

does your sr take a bigger hit if your racing d class with a b license?

Yes. It will give you less free inc, incident points without effect, than say running an A class race with an A license.

You got to give us a few hours notice! I would have loved to join!

No, a 4x is a 4x regardless. What you will find is that the D Class races are shorter than B Class and it'll take you more races to get SR back due to that. The CPI required to stay at B is a lot higher than D, so you cant afford to have as many incidents per race. That's why you can have a lot of incidents in a 2 hour race and still gain SR, but a 4x at B in a 25 min race can cause you to lose SR.

well that's why I've dropped so much. I've been doing d class for two weeks and I've lost about 2.0 sr only getting 2-7 incidents per race

You'll have to make up the extra driving in TT's or just with a few clean races, lots of incidents in a short race will really hurt you.

GT3 at Silverstone this week :)
I'm so glad they still run the old layout. For me the new layout just doesn't have the same feeling...Whats everyones thoughts on the old and the new ?

*edit, yes I know the new isn't on iRacing yet but surely most of us have tried the new on GT6 or something

I'm not a fan of the circuit on any sim. It just doesn't feel right. I had the same feeling about Suzuka but, I ended up loving that circuit when I drove it in real life. They are similar circuits in that they have a lot of fast flowing corners so, I'd say I'd probably end up liking it in real life. The old version of the circuit is way better. They took out Bridge which was easily my favourite corner at the track.

I prefer the new layout to the old one, it's just more interesting to drive on with a few more overtaking spots. Shame about the loss of bridge, good corner with certain cars but the new first corner is also a good one. I think the updated version is pretty far down the list, they've scanned it, but Donington was ahead of it from what I could tell. Good thing is we'll keep both versions in iRacing when it does get updated.

Ive never liked Silverstone, airfield race tracks are just bland and that goes for Sebring to, although Sebring has some character with the bumps everywhere.

They've got character. Silverstone from some google image searches hasn't really retained much of its airfield roots. I'm pretty sure a Sebring repave will happen in the near future too.

I hope iracing has all the configurations of Silverstone when it's updated here too

Tracks I didn't enjoy to much on GT, I actually enjoy on iRacing maybe it's iRacing itself.

So glad the RUF Track Trans was addressed. Looks like the MP4 was too.

Need to get my self a tune cough Jav for the MP4 and do some races this week with it.

I'll send you my setup tonight, still a bit of fine tunning to do, ride height, fuel load ect...

Had my first race in the updated RUF last night at zolder, and the gear box still sucks! Yeah its better, but it still wont change gear like I want it to. Heading down to the first chicane and all I could do was hope and pray id make it down to second before my turn in point. Had a great race until I wrecked myself, then got a 17sec hold for speeding in the pits because I accidentally turned the limiter off instead of on.

If you go to your documents and find the iracing folder, click on the app.ini config file and search for debounceSeq_Ms= and then set it to zero, mine was set on 80 and after doing that the tracks gearbox wasnt as slow but its better than before.

Well that marks the second time iRacing has ever crashed on me and both times its happened with the dp at watkins, hopefully this wont happen in the race.
