@Jav Do you still race the C6R a lot? I did a test in Interlagos with it and it is so much fun with NTM5. Might consider switching to it from the HPD next season.
Wow, I haven't really touchedthe car in over a year! After the Ford GT got the new physics on 2013 I went head into it and never looked back, I've taken the Vette out for a few practice laps every now and then but I've lost all the throttle sensitivity you need to really get the most out of it. If they in fact sign another GT1 car and that car is the Murcielago GT1 or the Masserati MC12 GT1 or even the Aston I'll go back to GT1 in a heartbeat!
I have a feeling that after next season they are gonna ditch Proto/GT.
I don't know, it might be a host town but do you really think they'll can it? I hope not, that would be pretty sad if they do... I do think it needs an extensive overhaul to breath new life into it.
I like Tony's vision of an official Tudor Series with 2 Prototypes(DP/P2) and 2 GT-LM cars as a replacement for Proto/GT and World Sports Car Championship.

Pretty cool news and something to look forward next season for Proto/GT!
I hope it's a real TC system that will allow you to dial some slip angle into it!

I do wish they would alter the bodywork on the ruf track to actually look like a racecar, similar to what R3E did, that would make me happy.

Oh God tell me about it!! That's the only reason why I refuse to drive any of the race versions of the Rufsche! It just reminds me way too much of GT5! IMHO it was extremely stupid of iRacing to write a contract that was going to prevent them from altering/modifying the car visually...

Just thought I'd let you know that I'm not ignoring your post. I'm just massively busy right now with various things. The things that @noshog quoted are kind of the basics but, once I've landed in the States and have a good amount of time, I'll type up a much more indepth guide on things.

Totally understand.

Another reason why I no longer race is because I had a daughter in 2012. Don't have time anymore for scheduled races but things are getting better as she can sleep through the night.

I will see how things go and still read posts here from time to time. Plenty of other sim PC games to keep me occupied for now.

Just renewed my membership after a couple week break, are there no more forums? I try clicking the link but all I get is a 404 error.

Well atleast we know they got something in the works for a new DP.
Hell yeah!!! Woohoo!!! Also looking at his words I have no doubt the new P2 HPD is licensed as well.
Wow! I think we could see this beauties go at it this year!

And since that they have basically completed the oval side of things, maybe they well put more focus on getting the road side up to date.

Oh man I hope they hear you! @cnd01 is gonna explode like a happy puppy when he reads your earlier quote! I hope that the new DP drives something similar to what the original did 2 years ago, I loved that beast!!

I hope they go about changing the FGT the right way, i dont want to see the ford just plopped in GT3 with a few goodies tacked on and still the same GT2 body. I want a REAL GT3 spec Ford GT.......

The Northwest club league just finished our Monday Night Racing Series (MNRS) season 8 with the Ruf track a few weeks ago, and I barely finished 10th. Now we've started the season 9 with the radical at the glen classic boot config. That car is a blast to drive now, the tires really come in about 5 laps in with baseline with extra fuel and tall gears (we're trying fixed setup this season) and wow, I've never done so well around these guys. Qualified 4th finished 5th with a high of 3rd from a pass at launch (fields usually start at 10-20 cars but the end of the race loses about 3 or 4). after lap 5 I was really unusually consistent, fun car, it took awhile but it finally clicked with me.

It's not in the pipeline, but at least it's on the CAD list. My bet is that they don't get around to it until the DP type chassis goes away in 2017, but I can only hope it'll be out by next year. Maybe it'll come out with an updated HPD spec for a DP/P2 spec with GT3 for a Tudor class A road series

I dont think they will wait that long. I know their cars take awhile to make but no car should take 3 years to make.

I tried to race, but the car was just so godawful tight for me. It was the same way ay Lime Rock.

Lime Rock was weird for me, I was thinking the same thing you are for the whole 3 hrs of practice, then in qualifying it just clicked and I ran a 1:42.5xx at the glen. It rewards not overdriving the entry and just being smooth and staying off the curbs and once you get some heat in the tires it hooks up and stops doing the tight loose snap.

They have cut the production times dramatically inthe past couple of cars, after the NASCRAP Toyota is done I bet they will step on it with the DO and new O2. Proto/GT desperately needs a breath of new life, they won't let it die like that. I'm pretty sure we will see progress on those cars this year.

I think it really depends on if Tudor hops on or not. I'm glad IR has gotten the Toyota about ready. It's great that they've gotten the oval side so built up now. That means road will be the focus. I'm thinking realistically by S4 build or S1 build for 2015 they'll have it. The DP has needed an update since 2010, and the grand am(or whatever it's called now) IR series participation is down a good bit from what I've seen, so maybe they'll get it out quick

The TUSCC license wouldn't be an issue, they'll have no problem aquiring that, they'll most likely hold on that till the content is completed so they won't have a repeat of the Super GT deal...

I didn't have IR when that went on, so I don't know the full "uh-oh" that happened.

They've really bolstered oval content here recently. I have started racing it more now. The driving standard is equally as good/bad across the board for oval as it is road. Some of the NASCAR series are actually a lot of fun

Oval racing isnt that bad but im not that fast since im a road course guy. But i only race the Super Late Model on the oval side, i dont dare spend any money on 26 1.5mile cloned ovals, i only like the short tracks.

I'm the same way. I will only race tracks 1 mile or less with the exception of Daytona and Talladega. I like the late model a lot. It had good participation before the SLM came out. I haven't raced it since, but I do have the truck and SS Gen 6 for the Ir series. I got a 7th at Bristol which was a survival challenge really more than anything. There was a track blocking crash on lap 3

Hi. I drove The GT3 series last night and I have some questions maybe someone would be able to answer.
First the set upp i did and worked well on the test session, did not feel the same in the race session.
It felt much more lose and not enough grippy and also the top speed was reduced on the fastest
part from 249 to 244. How can a slightly different temperature on track change the behavior off the car in
such degree???? Is this realy realistick? And when it was time to pit after 45 min there was no pit crew in Place!!
And the race (spa) felt like more off a fight with the Xs than the actual racing. Ive been a iracer for a while and still
it puzzles me and often make me FK angry and frustrated. Maybe its time for a time off again....

Weather changes can easily make a greater difference than that, 5 degrees temperature change can make a huge difference to type temps in real life. The difference between a 5m/s head wind, and a 5 m/s tail wind can easily make 20 Km/h difference at the end of a straight. Since they implemented weather changes, you need to be really careful that you test under the same conditions as that weeks races.

There is no pit crew in iRacing, just an animated guy with the lolipop, you will get your tyres changed/car refueled never the less.

People always complain about the 1X at Spa, it just depends how accurate you are/close to the edge you run.

Ok thanks so when testing I have to make shure the wind and the temp are the exact same.
Can you change wind also???? By pit crew I meant the guy with the lollipop... He simply was not on the pit
so no fuel for me....

I heard of that problem at the last Road Warrior race at Sebring with a full grid. I assumed it was a glitch related to the full grid , but it happened to a guy in a GT3 race I was in last night also. We only had 15 or so in that race so there were plenty of pit boxes. He went into the pits again and the lolipop guy was there 2nd time. I have never had it happen though and haven't heard an explanation either. Maybe check the iRacing forums.

Totally off topic, but Bill Auberlen is the coolest dude ever.
