Not really, one week I spend 3 hours dialing in everything, there are like 30+ settings. Then after a race I spent another 3 hours on the car setup. After that I couldn't finish worse than 2nd ( top split ) if I tried. It was a great setup with an, at the time, good average oval driver at a track I just did 3 hours practice on. Still I had done 3 hour practices in fixed series and never was that fast a pace relative to other very good drivers.i hate fixed C street stocks. Cars that easy to set-up shouldnt need a fixed series.
In oval even a slight one tenth advantage can be +3 or more grid spots and huge in a race ( with good drivers ). Now if I'm in a pack of inconsistent drivers I can get away with just "hitting my marks" and still get a top 5 with an OK setup.
