At what point did I lose all my faith in this forum? It's posts like these...

Nice. Reeeal nice. 👍

Ever seen that thing in the upper left of each post which gives the date and time of the post? Believe it or not, that thing gives, well, the date and time of each post.

0 for 1 being smart.
LMAO sorry i wasnt really awake when i was reading this becuase since the past few days school has been a B!TCH and i am a freshman and i got all Honors clases so too much **** on my mind right now. but tommorow I dont have school because of hurrcane Bonnie.

the years 1990-2000 are the best years not only for honda but for all the japanesse automakers. since let say the year 2001 japanese sports car have vanish from earth. only few models like s2000, 350z, rx8, wrx and evo still remain competitive. in the 1990s the 300zx, supra, skyline and nsx compete versus ferrari, porshe and corvette. this days they are far away from that league. there no japan supercars (nsx cost like a supercar but performs poorly compare to others in that price range),(skyline is no longer around and doesnt perform to current standarts). the evo and the sti are the only true performance cars and for the money are a great deal. rx8 is underpower, 350z is a heavy car and the s2oo0 is expensive. iam really dissapointed by japanese automakers focusing all the effort in suv, sedans and trucks. at least we can found some good performance cars cheap in the used market. europe and america are really taken the sport cars seriosly and not to mention the supercar category.

Actually, I still agree with my main original point that Honda's best ten year period was not 1990-2000. And to answer drjoe1977's point, I can confidently state that Honda's and the Japanese auto industry's best years will be 2000-2010.

I agree with him...

He's only discussing the performance cars, a fraction of the market. These companies don't give a **** about the performance cars, they serve the purpose of boosting image. If you look at the actual vehicles that consumers buy, Honda has made more leaps in the last four years than it did in the previous fifteen.

yea, i know he's talking about performance cars. and yes, these companies don't really give a **** about performance cars nowadays. All we are saying is that cars were more sportier in the 90's than today.

(skyline is no longer around and doesnt perform to current standarts)

care to elaborate on that point? cuz a skyline with mild tuning will eat almost anything on the road.. my stock GTR pulls on M5's and M3's and Evo's all day and night at stock boost....

And the Skyline GT-R is one of the few cars in the under 8-minute club in the original Nurb. along with the NSX-R.

:)

the point about the skyline is just in comparison to the new sports cars around, viper gts, corvette c6, new 911, new m5, porshe gt2 and the new tvr's just to mention a few. i understand that with some modification you can really make the car competitive but the point is that now the skyline is a used car and no longer a new car. thats why i mention it as a car from japanesse best sport moment 1990-2000.

I can't believe what I'm reading hear. I think 1990-2000 sucked for Honda. The NSX was Acura's only sports car & it was a miserable failure. It was way overpriced. It couldn't compete with car companies like Chevrolet, Dodge, Ferrari, Lotus, & Mazda. The S2000 is an incredible car. It's almost as good the NSX, yet it's $60,000 more affordable. As for the insight, I think it is much better than any other hybrid because it is small, it weighs less than 2,000 lbs & has a manual transmission. All hybrids are undeveloped technology & are currently inferior to a conventional economy car. In the future, I hope they improve.

Well I'm no Honda fan, but in my opinion the Asimo is the coolest Honda ever made.👍

I dunno, as the years go on, Honda's cars just keep getting heavier and heavier. I know its for safety features though so it is for a good cause, but don't you remember when Civics used to weigh 2200 lbs? I have a Civic that weighs 2750 lbs!

A first generation CRX weighs 1819 lbs.
👍 My 1990 Civic hatch with 72 (or is it 92--I've read both figures) horses is more fun too drive than my friends 300 hp Thunderbird. He gets really angry when I pull away form him on twisty roads, or in traffic :) I say so. He says so. Another person, who has driven both, says so.

When you sit close to the ground, with that low cowl, you feel like you are going much faster than you are. It's FUN! The trend on Honda's has been raising the cowl line. Not smart.

And, despite the meager engine, the pull in 2nd and 3rd (20-50 mph) is strong. Good fun on two lanes. And I dont attract cops, either.

Yep, 1990-2000 was the best generation for Honda.

Man i thought i had entered the TWILIGHT ZONE!!!! :scared: I didn't notice the dates, and was reading M5's post and thought the world had been turned upside down. Cause i thought me and him got into it a while ago because I was saying that stuff. WIERD!! I don't know why he changed his mind though. Honda doesn't have a good, or 'best' generation... cuase they are just bleh...

You better think before speak, I rather drive a '92 Civic than any Chevy Cavalier Z24 in history.
